    The toner is going to lift your base if you use it with a 30% developer and also that wella toner is known to lift up your base color and bump it up that’s why it may come off warm and you want to use the blue shampoo, just letting you know incase and I’m licensed so i’d figured I’d share that but you it looks great girl! 🤍

    The technique was 10/10 it looks good on you. I do think if you applied more bleach to the strands. They look a little dry maybe thats why they were not as light as you wanted, thats what brad mondo would say. But i do love it it looks great 👍🏻

  • @ryanmalave2248
    @ryanmalave2248 3 роки тому +30

    Hi! Your technique was okay for going lighter pretty much all over the ends and keeping a “rootier” look. If you instead want to just refresh your highlights and keep the blonde to brunette ratio, just use the comb to separate the strands, and right before you apply the lightener just use the tail end of your comb to flick out any of the strands that are completely brown! Then just blend the lightener down to wherever the brown meets the blonde on each strand! Voila!
    Ps. Not that your hair doesn’t look nice but putting that wells color over with a 30 essentially will lighten all your hair. Get a Demi permanent with no more than a 10 vol and you’re set. Happy holidays!

    • @lexdom
      @lexdom 3 роки тому +1

      Is the 30 volume developer okay for the bleaching process? I’m gonna do this touch up to my balayage hair and my roots are a dark blonde light brown colour so I’m not sure if 30 is gonna be too much for it.

    • @ep4423
      @ep4423 2 роки тому

      I'm not sure on the bleaching vols etc but for me with natural dark blonde hair simply putting on a dark blonde semi permanent ie low volume colour all over and washing a few times gives me extra balayage time less the roots.

  • @madstarules
    @madstarules 3 роки тому +81

    I think you did a lovely job! The only thing I would say, is I would be careful with the developer you use on your toner, using 30 volume will lift your natural hair, which will bring up warm tones so try using a 10 vol or less as it will deposit and not lift x

    • @ttime9395
      @ttime9395 3 роки тому +4

      Yeah I thought the same thing! My son is a hairdresser so I’ve kind of learned with him along the way, I would say no more than 10 vol with a toner as it will deposit instead of lift which is maybe why you thought it was a bit bright and also will damage the hair especially 30 vol but I must admit I freakin LOVE it!!!!! You so suit the blonde😍😍well done a lot of hairdressers wouldn’t do as good a job👏👏

      Lexi L 20-30 vol should be fine as long as it’s not previously lightened but as i haven’t seen your hair I can’t say for sure. If using 20 vol make sure you saturate well. I do generally think lightening is best left to the professionals unless your really confidant. Good luck

    You’re bleaching/highlighting process is good, but the toners you use will lighten your natural hair color and make everything look red/warm once the ash washes out. If you use demi permanent color to tone with low volume developer it will tone and ash off you’re result without affecting you’re natural hair color.

    30 vol w/ toner?? Never, also not w/ BlondeMe developer which it’s purpose is to, only be used w/ BlondeMe products. Toners have their own developers, which are normally no higher than 6vol..this is why us hairstylist cringe when this type of information is put out their. Schwarzkopf products also are only guaranteed when purchased from distributor/salon. Also it’s mixed 2:1 (2 parts developer 1 part bleach)
    Toner= tone down, eliminate unwanted tones, deposit..
    30vol will lift 2-3 levels & not deposit/correct unwanted tones.
    Reason for so much warmth/gold/yellow in hair: •don’t rub bleach into hair •saturation gives u level of lightness •heavy saturation = very light •light saturation = not as light (more warmer tone(s) •once bleach is dried out/not enough applied/rubbed in, u get very minimal lift. •This is not me trying to be rude, just stating facts, as a hairstylist of 23 yrs.

    Hi, you can just move the comb farther down the section of hair and then separate the sections closer to the head instead of pulling on your hair and separating it on the side of the comb farthest from your head. You can also change the volume of your developer to 10 volume for the ends instead of the same bleach strength. Kinder to the hair that has already been bleached.

    I know you said you feel better if it’s damage then splotchy 🤦🏻‍♀️ no girl it’s the other way around splotchy you can definitely fix. The amount of hair you were separating was to thick next time go thinner with your sections and make sure you saturate. You did good with the idea of blending the reason you are getting splotchy results it is because the layers are to thick and you need more saturation. One trick I use when I’m highlighting clients and want to have a smooth transition use shampoo on the roots ( only if you are NOT coloring the roots) try it next time the blend will be amazing! Remember don’t part your hair thicker then your pinkie not endless you are going for a different look.

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the tips babe!! The only reason I said I’d rather have damage than splotchy is bc I’m doing it myself and again, am not professional. I would rather have to cut my damage off because I know how to cut my hair how I like. Fixing splotchy is way out of my knowledge and I know that. If I was professional definitely want to keep the integrity. But I didn’t want to have to bleach again and cause more damage if it’s splotchy. I hope that makes sense haha. I’ve never gotten splotchy results with this video or my other at home videos tho.

    • @DeanndraNunnery
      @DeanndraNunnery  Рік тому

      The comb is a special weaving comb that will separate the hair to be highlighted. You can weave yourself but I haven't had the courage to try on my own since I am not a certified professional. If you are not professional either, I recommend the comb to ensure you don't mess-up. it's linked in the description...under $10.

    I used the blondme 20 vol developer with the wella toner, and I don't think they go together cos when washing it it had this cream gunk on my hair that doesn't wash off easily and took some washing off. And after my hair has dried omg it has bleached my hair like two levels up after 30 mins.( No bleach was used) and now j have no highlights visible also the toner after washing has not held the colour at all 😭 I'm golden like in Tangled. From hair like yours to gold with just blondme 20 vol Nd wella t35.
    I think I need to buy the wella developer and not a cream developer. I'm so scared to use another 20 volume cos my hair will lighten more.

    • @DeanndraNunnery

      lol not worth it if your hair is that damaged! If you decide to, you can just take the bleach down to the grown out line and then apply the demi color on the whole hair to blend old and new bleach!

  • @PeaceLoveChelita93

    Blue shampoo won’t turn your hair green, but actually give your blonde more of a cooler tone. If the top is too brassy (Orange) you can always use a Demi to tone the orange like a level 7. The wella is too light to tone the orange.
    Also, if you’re gonna bleach the whole strand.. focus on the grow out first so it can lift how you like it and than go back through each strand to blend it. That is why the top looks more orange than the ends. You didn’t give your grow out enough time to lighten. It’s no biggie, but an level 7 demi (toner) can help with the orange part only.

      @@DeanndraNunnery your hair came out really good. If some foils still needs to process more let it process more just wash out the foils that is already blonde. The top hasn’t been left on bleach long enough like the first foil you apply. You got to let it catch up :). when you leave a blue mask for a long time and to use it as a toner and yes it’s going to leave a bit of blue just cause that part of your hair (bangs) is porous. Definitely, try using a demi and you can use your fingers or a comb to blend so you won’t get a harsh line. Do not use a permanent dye.

OLAPLEX changed my life!! invest in some, hair bleached 3x in a row and not damaged!!! I too used wrong toner and ended up using blue but got on to my blonde which turned it green…🤦🏼‍♀️ had to rebleach then used redken shades eq 9p 9t and redken colour gels 7nn with 20vol to get rid of orange and cover grey at the roots! Suits our skin tone! You did a good job!
