Deanndra Nunnery, this turned out amazing and i really loved this look because I’ve been wanting to dye my hair for the longest and can’t now that salons are closed and would love to give this one a try. My question is; if I were to use a toner with it what toner do you think is best? Please let me know ? Thank you
Hi Deanndra! Thank you I appreciate your response ! Awesome!❤️I love your videos there very helpful 👍😊
Did I miss it? I’m a Latina and your hair is similar to mine. How long did you leave this in? Thanks!
Lit mom Ever I left in for about 45 min after I was done with the last strand
Deanndra Nunnery thank you so much! I am gonna try tomorrow. Fingers crossed!! Stuck in quarantine so why not? I can’t believe that’s the screen name my son gave me. 🤦🏻♀️ had to change it omg Lmaoo sorry
I’ve never dyed my hair on my own I’ve always paid 200+ for a balayage, but I found your video and oooo GURL. I haven’t had my hair done in about a year so it was mostly grown out, I have dark brown hair and followed your video to a T and it turned out so good!!! Super subtle, looks professional, and after I bought everything you used it only cost me about 20 bucks. No shade to my hairdresser but I’m never going back 😂
Hahaha so glad this worked out for you!!! I don’t see myself ever needing a hair dresser either. It’s crazy how expensive being a girl can be 😭
That’s awesome ....your wallets gonna be fat😊
And everytime i go to a hairdresser they never do what I actually wanted 😐
Deanndra Nunnery it really is!! Also, I’m about to touch it up. Did you use the highlight brush again or should I touch it up a different way?? 🙃
@@sammielove211 girl i literally just found this video and i want to do it!! did you end up toning your hair? I have dark brown hair too and I am trying to decide if I want mine honey like hers or a little lighter.
Here I am trying not to dye my hair again but every time I come across your video I always have an urge to dye it lol
HAHAHA Same girl!! I was gonna keep it dark but my color kept fading and I got so bored with it! Then I got the message about this highlighting comb and my curiosity got the best of me.
Me too! She makes looks easy and the end results are wonderful. Getting the urge to highlight for the summer. 🏖
Same!! I’m finally going to do it today!
I didn’t expect this to come out so good, beautiful!
Thank you! haha i didn't either! I was a little concerned halfway through but I LOVE IT!
I LOVE warm, honey, caramel colors! I feel like so many people like cool ashy hair and I’m here drooling over warm blonde 🍯🤎💛
Haha I’m the same girl!! I love a golden warm honey color! 😍🍯🍯🍯
samee =)
When using bleach how do I make sure it looks honey and not orange
@Nancy Lopez I think you can use toner to get that orange color out.
That looks so proffesional
Thank you!! I was really easy too!
I've been searching for DIY balayage tutorials for over a year (yes, that long) and I can honestly say yours is the most impressive!! The technique looks so simple and your results look so professional. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome!! && thank you so much! I’m so happy you found my videos helpful after looking for so long! I try to be honest and detailed about technique/results!
How do you slay these highlights every single time with the same box ?! Damn !
Lol thanks!! Lots of practice and making sure to blend at the roots!!
@@DeanndraNunnery I'll keep that in mind :)thank you ❤️
Omg! Im so glad i found this video! This is going to save me $100s of dollars!!! 🙌🏼 Thank you!! Your hair came out amazing! And i actually love the tone so much
Yay!! So glad I could help you save some $$$! 🙌🏽 thank you so much! I’m telling you it’s the kit that gives the best color!! I’ll never use anything else!
Great look and very well explained, thankyou!! This is genuine, no step left out or glossed over even showed how to do the back!
I’ve been struggling trying to find a cheaper place to get my hair done, is always so expensive to get my hair done, $250 to $300 but I came across your video and I am so happy to buy my own and do it at home. Thanks girl
BOTH of your highlighting videos had helped me SO SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was searching and searching for a video to achieve the look I want and your cap one and this one both are perfect! Thank you so much!!!!! 🥰😍😘
Yay I’m so so happy I could help you!!!! You’re so welcome! ❤️❤️😘
What is this sorcery and why am I just now finding out about it??? This is a game changer for at-home hair coloring! Thank you for the great demonstration, I would have never figured it out on my own.
So im gonna try this on my own because of being quarentined...ive never done this before...you mentioned toner...whats the purpose and if i dont so it does it make a differemce?
Lol now is the perfect time to diy!! It makes a difference depending on your bleach results. For me, it has never made so much a difference that I feel it is necessary. I try to avoid further damage so I choose to just use the Eva NYC purple conditioner and a purple shampoo. If your hair turns out to be really orange with the bleach and the purple isn't helping combat that, you can use a toner to try to remove some of the orange undertones. Or if you want a more ashy color, the toner will also help you achieve that. The toner will be a more permanent result as far as the undertone of your hair. But i do like to do a weekly deep condition with the eva NYC conditioner and I find that it's the same as a toner and keeps my hair soft and healthy. It really is a personal preference though! Hope that helps! 💞
OMG SAME
So am i. Quarantine is indeed the best time to diy hair, good luck everyone and stay safe
Blue shampoo for Orange and purple shampoo for yellow hair 🙂
Kiana A how did it go? :)
The final result is gorgeous! You are so beautiful and thank you for sharing your DIY 😍❤️
Awe you’re so sweet, thank you!! ❤️❤️ so glad you enjoyed!
I am 54 yrs young, I trust myself more than stylist , I have never seen a highlight video as great as yours with the results . I too have had blonde highlights , I went back to dark , my hair is extremely long, fearful if highlighting and getting into the breakage, however, you chose the honey which I need to achieve, God sent me to you'd video this is exactly what I needed. God bless Beautiful
I trust myself more than anyone else as well!! Glad I could help! God bless! Hope you love your results!
@@DeanndraNunnery ok so my hair is long and thick...I really struggled, out a. Out 4 in back length with foil, then ended up using the cap,, I will gradually add more down the road. I'll try again ,lol
I bought this comb and it's a game changer! Thanks for sharing. Your hair turned out beautiful.
Yes it really is a game changer!! Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful for you!!
Wow coming from a hairstylist you did a good job it looks beautiful and professionally done
Yay thanks babe! I love getting hair stylist approvals! Lol
I Love it, have seen so many videos and this technique is my favorite. I just ordered the comb, feeing nervous and excited at the same time. Thank you for your video! 😊
This technique is definitely my favorite too! So quick and easy!! I always get a little nervous before doing my highlights idk why haha but good luck babe! Hope you love your results as much as I love mine.
Ordered bleach, a highlighting comb and a toner today off of Amazon! So excited to try this, I hope it turns out as good as yours!!
Sara B any update on how it went?
sharon k ordered the stuff, they will take a while to arrive because of corona. Once I have done it I will definitely do an update xx
Update?
I watched your video and finally did it... im sitting here waiting to wash it out and see the results!! Yours came out great!! Thanks for giving me the courage to do mine!
Thank you!! && you’re so welcome! How did you like your results??
Brad mondo where you at boi ?!
Hahaha he actually did a reaction video to my highlights with a cap video! 🤣
Wow girlll it came out stunning 😍
Natural talent👊🏼
I was a hair dresser and i did it myself one time, without the comb; freestyle balayage and backcombing the hair to get a nice blend. I have a lot of thick hair and my arms are killing me😂
The last time i went to the salon and payed €200 for a cut and balayage & toner 😅
It turned out far to blond and my curls died in that moment.
So now i’m scared and after watching you nailing this, i might give it a try with that special comb🤞🏼
I must use a toner, caramel color Loreal professional Diariches, because i have a lot of red pigment and it gives back shine to my hair.
About the purple shampoo or how we Dutchies call it, Silvershampoo:
Blue shampoo is best for removing orange tones and purple shampoo for jellow tones. Thank you for sharing🌻
lol yea I've tried the back comb technique before but it's so much strain on your arms when doing it on yourself that it just wasn't worth it to me! The comb is just too quick and easy!! Great tip about the blue shampoo!! I wasn't sure about the difference! 💕💕
I can't believe how beautiful this is!! Amazing 😍 really wasn't expecting it to come out this nicely!
Thank you!! ❤️ hahaha I honestly wasn’t either! I was nervous it would be too streaky or too random! Glad you liked the results!
I absolutely love it!!! The color that came out is so pretty!
Thank you so much!! So happy you enjoyed!!
This is the second video of yours that I've watched, and I'm super impressed by your results! I almost always color my own hair to save money, and I'm really itching to do highlights soon. Thanks for your amazing tutorials!
You’re welcome! So glad you have enjoyed my videos! I love doing my hair at home for the same reason! Hope you love your results as much as I did!!
Sopra non hai fatto nessuna tinta tonalizzante dopo la decolorazione?
THIS IS EVERYTHING IVE EVER WANTED! SUCH A PERFECT SHADE! Thank you love! Cheers
Love your highlighting tutorials. You remind me of myself back in the day. 👏🏻
Glad you enjoy! & haha that’s awesome ❤️
😍looks so beautiful, reminds me of Sofia Vergara’s hair 😍😍 LOVE IT
Omg the best compliment everrr! I love her!! Lol glad you enjoyed!! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg yasss
This quarantine has me so bored, I’m gonna try this (probably shouldn’t) but I’m gonna try 😂
Haha I’m the same way about being so bored and dying my hair. Except I kinda want to go dark again! This technique really is super easy tho! I’m sure it’ll turn out great!
I’m gonna be doing it myself.. wish me luck lol.
Jessica Perez hey! Wondering how it turned out for you. I am tempted to try this myself.
Single As A Pringle It’s gonna be a process for me lol. I tried to post a pic on this comment but cannot. I want to go even lighter so I will be bleaching one more time. I used a 40 developer and I slept in coconut oiled hair to protect it..🤣
Eventually I want to put in some bright red after I get tired of the blond highlights! Have you tried it yet?
@@jessicaperez6623 u used this revolon box or straight bleach and developer? And is 30 develop enough for dark brown hair if i wanna just do a little bit on my ends or tips of my har only cuz i have never tried anythinggg ever on my hair so i am only a teen , wht should i do , i got obssessed with millie browns season 3 looks and how it aas prominent so i want natural looking too but my hair is reallly dark wht should i start with asa begineer.? For natural ony bleached tips
She said than she is not professional but look like. I going try that in my hair I loved the toner that she got. Fantastic 👏👏👏
Thank you thank you!! ❤️
Brad mondo would be shook
Haha he actually reviewed my cap highlights video and was shook w those results!!
Do you have a link for his reaction video?
@@macheyt hairdresser reacts to DIY cap highlights
Beautiful job! Looks very professional! You’ve inspired me to try my own highlights at home. Thank you ❤️🙏
Wow. Thank you so so much. I just scheduled a highlights appointment at my salon/spa, and I think I'm going to call and change it to a massage lol.
lol You're welcome!! enjoy your massage! haha glad i could help with the highlights
The Queen of DIY highlights for 2020. For real! These are the videos we need!
Haha thank you!! I do have a couple fail videos too 🤣😏🤦🏽♀️ I think I want to try to bleach again with way longer hair!!
Deanndra Nunnery I’ve watched those too! I’m getting the highlighting comb in today and I watched your fail video with the chunky front pieces so now I know what to not try to do when I’m doing my hair tonight. I thought you looked great with the chunky highlights though even though that wasn’t the look you were going for.
Yayy so glad that was still helpful for you!! I think I’m going to try the comb again too! I might pick up a different kind of bleach just to switch it up and see if the box really is the best. I get a lot of “don’t use box bleach” comments and honestly I like my boxed bleach haha so we’ll see!
Wow it looks salon quality if not better. Not all salon can do a great job I know from my experience . I went from watching your cap video to buying the cap method and now I’m going to try to do the comb method 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thank you!!! I’m telling you the comb method was soooo easy and diy friendly! Just make sure to blend at the root and you’ll be amazed at the results. ☺️ omg I know I’ve had some nightmare experiences at salons lol
Deanndra Nunnery only thing is my hair is like dark I’m not sure what kind to get I think I need it lighter to achieve honey color??! My hair is blackish dark brown
No my hair was dyed a dark brown almost black like 2 months before I did this. My natural color is closer to black and this kit has always given me honey results. Just make sure to wrap it in foils or the plastic cap that come with the kit so the bleach doesn’t dry. If you want it to lift more after the 30 min you can add a little heat with a blow dryer with the foils/plastic still on and it might lift more. But I think you’ll be fine with this one.
Deanndra Nunnery thank you for your response I had hair insomnia lol 😂 I’ll go exchange mine for the honey color then
Do you have a video on maintaining the hair months later or after it fades?
You are professional by experience on your own self. Result is so beautiful.
Thank you!!
WOW, it turned out gorgeous! I'll have to try its. Thank you so much for posting this!
OMG im at quarantine and decided to hell with it im gonna dye my own hair! I was a bit afraid on how to do it on my own hair but you really demonstrated it well! Thank you!
You’re so welcome!! Hope you love your quarantine hair!!
My ma and I followed the video and my hair came out really cute!!!! Follow this tutorial WITH the brush... you really cannot mess it up
Omg so happy y’all loved your results!! The comb is just too easy!!
I hope so cause im gonna try lmao
Did you need to tone it?
@Ariana Galvez how dark was your hair when you tried this and did it work with just the revlon box ?
You always do such a great job I always love the way your hair comes out 💕
Thank you so much!! 😊
Omg WHO IS GOING TO TRY THIS? I just bought this kit and brush because your hair came out so beautiful. I love to DIY but diy on my hair has never came out good lol. One time I went blonde yellow ewww lol so I haven’t done it in years but your video gave me confidence. Let’s pray it comes out half descent haha. I think I’ll make a video 🎞 and upload if it comes out good. Definitely trying this technique. THANK YOU 🙏🏻 ❤️❤️
Btw did you use just one box and do you have thick hair or thin? Wondering if one box will do the trick. My hair is up to my lower boob area...
Haha YOU'RE WELCOME! It's taken years and years of practice but mostly just patience while you're doing it. The comb has definitely been the easiest method for this honestly. Also yes my hair is pretty thick. I just used one box and had some left over.
Deanndra Nunnery awesome thank you!! I got the brush for sure. ❤️ waiting on it. Have a blessed day! Again great work!
This is amazing!! I’m actually going to do this technique on a wig of mine. Can’t wait to see my results!
Thank you!! I'm sure it will turn out beautiful! This was sooo easy!!
Hi..did it work?
omg hairdresser here !! this is one of the BEST ones i’ve seen! very good technique my only flaw is the box bleach. sally’s has a good bleach and u can use 20/30 volume with the powder. the results are actually amazing i’m shocked by this!! it was honestly a great technique with a good blend!!! congrats just be careful with the box
I’ve used the bleach powder from Sally’s as well. My highlights ended up being a little more yellow than I wanted them to be. Maybe because I picked up a purple instead of blue powder? Idk but I usually end up loving my results the most with this box. But thanks for the info, I’m sure lots of people like seeing the perspective of a hair dresser!
Balayage is a method of applying.. ie stroking the brush a certain way! Just saying
This would simply be cap highlights
Which turned out amazing by the way😍🤩 Thanks! Xx
Wow! Your hair looks gorgeous! I’m gonna try this this weekend!
Hello..did it work?
What a great result! I am about to use the same comb. Thanks for you video. But it hurts my fingers seeing you no using gloves!
And all your highlight ways have proven easy and effective saves $$$ When I have Native American hair passed my waist highlights and perms professionally are Crazy!! Lol too rich 4 me. So I enjoy your videos D.
Haha same girl! I don’t think I could ever justify paying salon prices when I can do it myself at home for $7!! I’m so haply you have found my content helpful!! Thanks for watching!!
Love the result👌I already ordered my comb and I will try this. Very beautiful!👏👏👏
ARE YOU KIDDING ME that looks so good!!!
thank you!
Wow!!! It looks great!!! Salon BEAUTIFUL! Not orange or red!
I have the similar hair color and my biggest problem is always getting reddish orange tones, but I like your results and the fact that you don't have to tone and over process!!!
THANK YOU so much for sharing.
Plz make a video when you go lighter!🙏💜❤🌸🌷
Thank you!! I definitely will be making another video soon. Not sure if I’m going lighter but it will probably look that way since I’m probably going to use the same technique. It will end up adding more highlights through the bottom.
@@DeanndraNunnery yay!! Can't wait!!😀
Omg this turned out freaking amazing! I bought the kit I’m waiting for the highlight comb to come in 🥳 going to follow your technique I’m excited 😭😭😬
Yay! Thank you! hope you love your results too!!
I love it!
I have balayage now. But want to go dark again. But I know I will miss the balayage so this will be useful then
Thank you!! So glad you found this helpful!! Haha I thought I was going to keep it darker than I did! I love it dark but I love the dimension in my hair too!
So glad I came across your video! I am going to attempt to do my balayage at home by following your video soon! Love it! Turned out so gorgeous!!! 😍😍
You can do it! ♥️♥️
Looks beautiful! I bet you would look so good with even lighter hair!! You have olive skin tone so really dark or really light look bomb!
Thank you!! I’m very lucky with skin tone lol I go back and forth all the time on which I like more 😂
It looks great! But I don’t understand how all your hair looks coloured in the end when NOT all of the pieces were bleached and were left dark brown? Also you didn’t use a toner so how does that work? Just wondering!
My hair was previously highlighted then covered with dark dye so I think that helped with the tone. I have a more recent video I did where my hair went really orange. I showed all the non-professional steps I used to get it to tone.
The hair is weaved with the comb so even though it looks like a lot of dark, it actually is very small pieces of dark and blonde mixed. That's what gives the dimension.
@@DeanndraNunnery thank you so much! I did this last night, the technique worked but since my hair had reddish/copper tones it came out more orangey so I didn’t keep the bleach on for long!
Thank you for this tutorial! I just purchased the Revlon kit and the comb on Amazon. I have curly wavy hair so hope it comes out okay!
You are so welcome! hope you love your results!!
Jus came across your channel and I’m obsessed!!! Can’t wait to try this

Wow that looks like a $200 salon job! Beautiful!❤️
Thank you!
damn that look like 500 dye job !!! congrats im jealous !!!
Thank you! I’ve been doing it diy for a long time, had lots of practice!
When my hair grows out and it’s all virgin hair again I’m definitely trying this. The results were gorgeous 😍
thank you!!
How many layers of foils did u do? Is it 5? And except for the bottom first layer, is there 4 foils per layer? Hoping to do this tonight 🙂
It looks AWESOME! Brave lady...
Thank you! I’ve had a lot of practice doing diy highlights at this point lol
❤️ I gotta get this comb! Dark haired girls👊🏻

Hello.I don't speak much english.I would like to know what did you use and some tips for the use .I will do it today😁
Also I have a bit lighter tone that you have and I really want to bleach my hair only one tone lighter with this balayage style
Wow that came out so good
Thank you!!
OMG 😳 you are PROFESSIONAL
Love it, you look great

I am OBSESSED with your videos and you inspired me to buy the revlon frost and glow kit, im going to try and do it this weekend and I hope it turns out half as decent as yours lol!!! Im using the cap however. Wish me luck you DIY hair dying goddess!!
Thank you!! so glad I could inspire you! haha I love this kit and alwaysss love my results! good luck babe but with this kit you're in good hands. I love using the cap tbh. It takes a little longer but it's definitely fool proof! have you seen my cap video? It was the first one I did with this kit and I did a sort of balayage look too!
here's the link just in case you haven't lol!! ua-cam.com/video/ZTXmdpxmNgM/v-deo.html

DAMN! that looks fantastic! I have all the products here I just haven’t pulled the trigger! This makes me want to!
It’s a nice change!!
This looks amazing!!! I have just had my balayage done at a salon and they completely ruined it, It’s patchy and blunt and it turns out I could have done this a lot better myself 😭 Do you have a tutorial on how to blend out blunt highlights into the roots?
oh no!! i'm sorry babe. I'm here because of a similar experience. I actually don't but I think my roots touch up will be helpful. ua-cam.com/video/NRzQm1T8lS8/v-deo.html
Girl your appearance stepped up a whole level
It’s the hair update!! Makes a huge difference!! I always thought I liked my hair dark but I think the highlights might suit me better!
This is absolutely amazing! I just ordered one on Amazon. 😀😀 Thanks for the video
Glad I could help!
Thanks for sharing this video! I don't know much about DIY hair projects, but what I can contribute is that next time you do this, cut the aluminum foil into smaller sizes. For example, you could cut it into three parts (the size piece you used). This way, you get more out of the aluminum foil and less to fold up. This is how my hairdresser did it when I highlighted my whole head. :-DDD
You’re so welcome and thank you so much for this comment!! I actually struggle with foils so this helps a lot! I am definitely going to try that next time to see if it helps. I haven’t been to a stylist in soooo long I hadn’t seen anyone do that so I never thought to!
You did an amazing job and saved yourself a lot of money 👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! && haha yes I did! I’m not sure I’ll ever go to a salon w the prices some people say they pay for orange hair! 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
wow beautiful result
Wow 🤩 Thanks! I can’t wait to try it ❤
How long was the product in your hair from the moment you started?
And what type of foil are you using...?
I would say the process took me about 30 min from the first placement of bleach. I then let it set for about 30-40 min. I’m just using precut kitchen foils 😂🤷🏽♀️
Deanndra Nunnery ....wish me luck dear cuz I’m heading to the bathroom to do my hair.😉
DEF LEPPARD - Lover how’d it go?
DEF LEPPARD - Lover did it work for you?
You are sooo brave! My respects. I’m doing this. 👏😊
Thank you! lol It's taken years of practice and doing it at home on my own. Good luck babe!!
Just saw this today and went straight to Walmart to get the kit 😌💫
Did you do it yet??
Just did this to my daughters hair, waiting for the time to wash it. Hope it looks as good as yours
how did it turn out??
Love the way u explain. My hair is same color as yours, so I was scared to do highlight, but after watching your video, I will definitely try. Just one question if my hair color is very dark what color highlight will suit on me.
First video I've managed to find showing the full process. Thank you, good job, looks lovely. ❤
Yay! Thank you! Hope it was helpful!!
Beautiful. You did an amazing job! Very helpful tutorial.
Good video I might have to try this...you got beautiful results, you always do...looks great 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you! ☺️ yes definitely give it a try next time! It was so quick and easy!!
I'm gonna try this to pre-lighten my hair before trying to DIY oil slick...
