Everyone in Led Zeppelin is arguably the best of all time. All of them are phenomenal.
JMO. Jimi is better than Jimmy, Moon is better the Bonham, Butler better than Jones. Plant is the best front man though, I'll agree with that. As I stated just my opinion. For the record, Led Zep is my favorite rock band.

Jimmy Page said in an interview that the music of Led Zeppelin was meant to 'feature' each band member. Listen to any song four times and zone in on each member's contribution. Their musicianship and artistry is unmatched. As you said, they NEED each other and especially live in concert they FEED off of each other. They are for sure the GOAT.

Led is 10 times better than pink Floyd. Tired of hearing Floyd heads saying that. Not even close. Love Zeppelin but pink Floyd does not do that much for me.

Jimmy Page is my favorite guitar player of all time! The way he plays its like he's showing you his emotions. I can almost hear words coming out of his riffs.

A lot of the English rockers from that era grew up in the aftermath of WWII. Unlike America, England was bombed to hell in that war. Their economy was wrecked and most of them grew up in poverty. The blues appealed to them as it's music that speaks of pain and struggle.

It's hard to separate one player from Led Zeppelin. They work so well together. Jimmy and Robert's ever-present 'call and response', Bonzo playing off of Page and vice versa while JPJ never misses a note or beat playing both organ and bass with his foot. Truly remarkable performance. No knock on David Gilmour in your contest but playing in Led Zeppelin is something different. Truly magical. :D

This song gives me ALL the feels 🥰 thank you for reacting and your commentary. In my humble opinion, Led Zeppelin were great BECAUSE they were four parts of one machine. Individually, you can say they are GOATs or whatever....together they created magic and influenced so many artists since.
I will NEVER, ever forget seeing them in 1977….blew my teenage mind! Plant was a god with that mane of hair and that blues filled power voice, Plant hypnotized us with his otherworldly guitar playing, Bonham had timing we couldn’t ever have fathomed and JPJ the multi talented everything glue that held it all together. You can understand, with music like this to grow upon, why we have such high expectations of music in general. And nothing every completely matches up. So grateful 🙏🏻❤️😎
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
This is how I started listening to Zeppelin, (early 80s, high school years). The perfect party: back then most of us sat in floor propped up against the furniture. The joints started making rounds, The harder drugs came out, my choice was LSD, the black lights and lava lamps were the only light. Then you hear the needle drop on the album. Zeppelin IV, Black Dog starts. Before you know it the whole party is laid back listening to every beat and every word, going down the Zeppelin trip. Fucking best days of my life! Now I just smoke a little weed and when I hear ANY Zeppelin song it takes me to a specific memory. I am a hardcore Zeppelin fan, the music hits me in a way that most people don’t get!

@@susancurtis8388 this generation has little to offer and once the education system indoctrinates the majority of them, I only see a very contentious, bitter society emerging, as much as I hate to say it. Oh, sorry I got off topic there. Absolutely, "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd was a Masterpiece and still is no doubt. All of Led Zeppelin's albums ("Coda" doesn't really qualify) were phenomenal, so many great songs on each and every album, and I'd be hard pressed to pick which was Zeppelin's best work, Led Zeppelin 4 would be a contender right to the end of any debate (their best album), and although they got a lot of flack for "In Through the Out Door"; it was great, as for as I'm concerned. They'll always remain unmatched. You know lately I was randomly checking out some of these "reaction" videos, where, usually the younger age group, have a UA-cam channel with the format of listening (audio only) or watching a music video, with them "reacting to the music", giving a review or commenting on what they've listened to or viewed. Going through (srowling) these youtuber channels, I find it very interesting at how many are reacting to a lot of the older rock bands that you and I grew up listening to. As far as their "reactions", some seem to be more sincere than others, giving honest opinions, or replies, and sometimes seem a little caught off guard or even surprised at what they've just listened to. I see many of them enjoying much of the older classical rock, even a lot of the hard rock groups or metal band even. In a way, it proves that compared to what's being produced and listened to today, what we were lucky enough to have, so much great great music always in the air, sound track of our lives, for me, '70s to around the latter 90s, maybe early 2000s, then it all (music) started to change, tapering off, as far as how it use to be, the quality and quantity will never return or be replaced, sad to say, so many of these youtuber's 'reaction videos" confirm what has happened in a lot of ways, by the reaction and what they have to say, more often than not, seems positive. If you get the chance, and haven't, take a look at some of these UA-camr's "reaction videos". If anything it's entertaining and it's a different take on how music can have different affects on people, no matter where they came from, their race, young (mostly) or older, none of that really matters, when it comes to music; how it moves people, while much of the time opening them up to a new experience, Check out Jamal aka Jemel or Trash Talkers, or Jay Rah Visions of Lost in Las Vegas or FatherandSon, just to name a few, if you get a chance, up to you Susan. IMHO Led Zeppelin is the band that put psychedelic blues rock on the map. There were a handlful of bands that might lay claim to being first... but LZ put it in everyone's ears

PB movement begin with Cream & The Yardbirds, and who was a member of the Yardbirds & then formed Led Zep when Yardbirds folded ? Yep a certain Mr Jimmy Page. Trash Talkers mentioning other rock bands don't realise they came after LZ who were 1967 or 8 thru to 1980. When drummer Bonzo died that was LZ finished. Was it 3 reunions since ? Inc Live Aid which was dire. They made up for it with the Celebration Day concert in 2007 as tribute to the founder of Atlantic records. They had one concert at the O2 in London which seats 22,000 capacity, the ticket applications were over 20 million, I was one of those who didnt make it. 😢 This coming out after it ended, all said it was the best concert of their lives. You can see on the DVD how feckin brilliant it was. I felt sorry for Jimmy who obviously loved every second of it and must have harboured thoughts of more, but Robert was never going to do more. Shame he looked like he enjoyed it and he was on top form but no. Best Rock Band EVER no question. !❤

Achilles Last Stand is pretty outstanding too, but then all of Pages playing is. Page wrote some or co-wrote lyrics, wrote music, & had complete control over producing mix etc.
Greatest band of all time. This song feeds your soul. The British were listening to our blues from the delta on wartime radios, and they brought it back to us! Clapton, Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, The Stones, et al
The jacket that John Paul Jones is wearing is on exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The left sleeve has a heart pinned to it as if to say he wears his heart on his sleeve ❤
Nobody ever mentions the fact that Page and Plant have the most incredible harmony between guitar and vocals.

Jimmy Page had to invent the double neck guitar to accomplish what he needed to do on a single song. A regular guitar was not enough for his brilliance. Respect how great the man was.

The entirety of their first album was straight blues. They expanded a ton later, but LZ-1, holy geez ... so emotive. So good.
Not exactly the entirety, just most of it. You'd be hard pressed to call Good Times Bad Times or Communication Breakdown 'blues'. But otherwise you're not wrong, most of their early albums were quite steeped in blues. They did expand their sound quite a bit over the years, but it seems like there's at least one song on the later albums that was straight up blues.

@@TheLanceUppercut the first album included cover songs by old blues guys like Willie Dixon (they played a lot of Dixon covers on their albums) and J. B. Lenoir which was where their blues background was rooted. I think Dixon later sued Zepplin for plagiarizing one of his songs and not giving him credit. But Page was heavily rooted in Dixon and that's where Zepplin's blues influence comes from. They played a lot of covers. A lot of people don't know that.

Each member of Led Zeppelin were masters of their craft. It was the perfect unison of all of the right artists together that made them the GOATs. Plant is amazing on harmonica. Their musical historical knowledge and appreciation for past masters is unparalleled especially Plant and Page. They were so diverse in their catalogue paying tribute to many diverse genres and their heroes.
Unless you guys have Hendrix in the list, Jimmy Page should win the competition.
Dont get me wrong, I think Hendrix is a GREAT guitarist, hell even Jimmy Page said "we Lost the best guitarist" (referring to Hendrix), But in my personal opinion, i am more moved by Page.
Anyway There is Blues song By Greatest Robert Johnson, Led Zeppelin did a remake of that song. Even though i think its one of the BEST Led Zeppelin songs, It doesnt get enough love. The song called Travelling Riverside Blues. Even in UA-cam, this song may be have 2 reactions? I would love to see you guys give that song a shot.
Page beats Hendrix any day of the week. Better creative player better live player better producer better library of music, less bullshit and more unique and diverse playing. Hendrix ain’t close to Page.
Clapton predates both Hendrix and Page. Page was Clapton's replacement in The Yardbirds. And Hendrix came to London at the start of his career mainly on the hopes he could meet Clapton cuz he was his hero.

@@jbojoify May be you are right. When Page himself said Hendrix is the best, who am I to argue. Specially when i am not a guitar player. What I CAN say is who is my personal fav and why. As I mentioned my fav is Page. But from Rolling Stones to Loudwire will put Hendrix, and its most people's preferred choice. May be the untimely deaths of Hendrix something to do with it. I am not saying it is. But it happens alot.
for example, I will get Sh*t for saying this but when Chester Bennington from Linkin Park passed away, so many people said and still saying he is a legend. I dont see how he is a legend. It really bugged me that just because he died, all the sudden people are claiming he is.

Thank you for bringing a treasured memory to me. This song made the hairs of my arms stand up, again! Almost 50 years ago, a girl broke my teenage heart. I coped with it through this song. Thought I forgot about it, but this brought it back in full force. A sweet pain of incredible intensity, because of the innocence of being young and not holding back. There's beauty in that sadness, just like this song.

Bonzo had a really distinctive sound that you could instantly recognize and JPJ was and still is considered one of the greatest all around studio musicians of all time.
The Yardbirds were one of the original psychedelic blues band. Jimmy Page eventually became their lead guitarist before the band fizzled out. Led Zeppelin was originally known as The New Yardbirds but they were forced to change their name which lead to Keith Moon of The Who coming up with the name Led Zeppelin because he jokingly thought the band would go down quicker than a lead zeppelin
There were two lead singers in Led Zep - Robert Plant, and Jimmy Page's guitar. He made that sing wail and cry. Listen to that - the very essence of longing and pain.
Everyone always over looks John Paul Jones. They just talk about Plant, John, and Jimmy. Sad really. He is an amazing Bass player. Always great reaction again.
It's ironic too because he's by far the most talented and skilled musician out of the whole group. He played the most cleanly, had the most knowledge of music theory, and was a multi-instrumentalist. He was their secret weapon.

You should check out Jimmy’s solo on Stairway to Heaven from this concert before the verdict. It’s mind blowing greatness ✌️

Yes!… that solo is other worldly. I was a Pink Floyd fanatic before I got heavily into Led Zeppelin… I thought that Gilmour’s solo on “comfortably numb”, from the PULSE live album, was the best live guitar solo ever… but the Stairway solo from this concert has taken that title away from Gilmour, in my opinion anyway.

Page could be very sloppy at times, but it works. His writing, note selection, tone, and great runs were amazing.
Right. The sloppiness works. As opposed to, say, Use Your Illusion-era Slash, who was so sloppy that it was difficult to listen to.

Personally, I'm not interested in perfection. Ultimately that path is usually boring and lacking in soul. It's all about passion, emotion and phrasing, in which Jimmy is unmatched IMO.
Maybe sloppy, but have you noticed he typically plays his sloppiness twice to show that's what he meant to do 😀
I've heard from different guitarists that JP's riffs are extremely difficult to play, yet he seemed to do it with ease. He may not be the fastest are the best player, but his style is unique and he created some of the best riffs ever, plus make the guitar sound so beautiful as well, "Tea for One", just one example of his greatness

Both Paige and Plant are great musicians on their own, but their styles worked very well together. It was that chemistry that propelled their popularity.

This is probably my favourite Zeppelin song, though in my opinion this hardly resembles studio version.. But their improvisation just shows how unbelievable musicians those guys actually are.. Love it so much!!
Arguably the best Band of the time. All four members did their unique part making great music. Best drummer, best guitarist, bst vovalist and best bassist.
They still are the greatest band, nobody was that great before LZ, & certainly nobody’s been since.
Saw Zeppelin in 1975 at the long beach arena 20th row on the floor. Me and my cousin paid 20 bucks for our tickets. 4 hour show. The song no quarter was 45 minutes and I stood the whole time on my seat. 1 of the 3 best shows I've ever seen.

Funny you mention the sweat on Jimmy, coz this is like song 3, unless it was edited! Dazed & Confused is a must & after the 🎻 part, the mirroring that Page & Plant is EPIC!! Then Bonham's straight up beat down at the end! His drum solo during Moby Dick was A-freakin-MAZING! The others completely LEFT the stage & let him just go OFF!!! True legend!

Robert can play guitar , he provided rhythm guitar on a track called "Down by the Seaside" which is on the Physical Graffiti album . Jimmy can sing but is not strong so he provides backing vocals , which John Bonham and JPJ do as well .
These guys defined what it means to be a rock star.
Dudes, There are only 3 live performances that equal this: Grand Funk Railroad's INSIDE LOOKING OUT, Santana's SOUL SACRIFICE at Woodstock and Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock. You owe it to yourselves to not miss these!

You should definitely , definitely react to When the Levee Breaks by Led Zep.
These guys were so diverse. Dazed and Confused feels bluesy(if that’s a word) but Levee is a blues song with a whole different vibe. One of my favs! And Bonham kills it!
Everyone in that era was influenced by Hendrix. Even guys that already technically were known players. He blew the minds of all of them….Clapton, Page, Gilmour, the Beatles, Pete Townsend, you name it. And remember by the time of this show, he was already long dead.

@@isopropyltoxicity I understand that. That’s why I said “even guys that already technically were known players.” Even the leading guitarists of the time were amazed by Hendrix. Gilmour wore his guitar strap for many years. They all were inspired by him.

In this version you will see that the balance is between the 4 band members. All the time they run in the same direction.
Bonzo's drums have the weight of the despair of the lyrics and keyboards making harmonies and also the bass (with foot keys) with JPJ.
As for the vocals and guitars in the studio version, they're the best takes I've ever heard.

Yes Jimmy CAN sing...and sang back up on some songs...and Robert can play the guitar a bit and plays a fabulous harmonica!! Jimmy can play harmonica too!
They should listen to “She Just Satisfies” if they’re curious what Jim’s singing voice sounds like.
Robert played guitar on Boogie with Stu, so he can play, but obviously not to Jimmy's standards. Who can, right. Just thought I'd chip in with that as I see you on every Led Zeppelin reaction. I'm there as well, just don't comment as much.
Jimmy plays mandolin as well. JP Jones plans mandolin as well also.

To answer your query. Psychedelic blues probably started with the early bands in San Francisco like The Greatful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Blue Cheer, Hot Tuna and others. Prior to that some surf rock artists like Dick Dale were pretty psychedelic.
Jimmy Page , started young in London, Before he turned 20, He was the #1 Hired gun in England recording studios. People and Bands would wait weeks to be able to have Jimmy do
his fills on their records. He played on some of the biggest names in rock. Some call him the riff master, some call him the wizard. As for David Gilmore, Well Pink Floyd is my #2 band for me.. Love P.F... For me.. two different styles.. Gilmore = smooooooth , relaxing. Jimmy = Raw, wild, one who plays on the edge. always changing, always pushing. For me Jimmy, for true Texas blues S.R.V. period!

A cool Zeppelin Rush story. In the 90's after Neal Peart's daughter died in a car crash and later that same year his wife died Rush took a long break and they almost quit music. Then one day Geddy Lee gets a call from Robert Plant. Plant had said that him and Jimmy Page would be playing in Toronto and they would like them to come to the concert. Geddy had said that normally they would have loved to but they were going through a tough time and he wasn't sure if they could. Robber said "No, you are all coming, and we are going to have a talk". After the concert back stage Robber Plant and Jimmy Page said to Rush, "You guys have to get back out there." So Rush starting touring and recording again. As Geddy put it, when your idols from when you started playing music tell you to get back out there you listen.
I love David Gilmour's sound, but Page's playing and versatility (from playing, arranging, studio mastery and production - he produced every Zep album) are far beyond that of DG. Page is a virtuoso. Personally, I think the best Page solo is the '73 MSG version of "Dazed & Confused."

You got that half right. Not just the intertwining og voice and guitar it was all 4 of them. When the drummer died they realized they couldnt go on without him. You can see it in live videos how they are constantly interacting. John Paul Joned is back behind so he can interact with John Bonham and only comes forward when he is on guitar and can move around and interact with whom he choses. Thats why they are the best rock group ever. Not a bunch of self absorbed egotists putting out noise that may just fit together
Jimmy Page may be the best guitar you will ever hear, today he is almost 80 and he still brings it. I heard Page asked about his singing, it made him laugh and he said, you don't ever want to hear that, LOL. But his guitar does all the singing he ever needs. He is a studio musician and has done every possible type of music and even did some commercial jingles in his early days. He also did the soundtrack for the movie, Death Wish 2, and if you watch the movie you will know it's him.

I was a teenager when zeppelin was big and i can tell you the way things were then and the way things are now is very very different. Sadly things now are way too controlled and money has stifled creativity. In those days, post 60's, the parties were wild, the music was real and freedom was truly felt, not just a word. I blame money, lawyers and computerization of everything. Glad I was there. Those days are gone and nothing even remotely close to them will ever be experienced by anyone again. Btw it was wonderful not being tethered to a cell phone while out with friends, they have a way of removing all mystery from your nights, they're nothing but a crutch and make us stupid and unresourceful.

Jimi is a rare breed of human. In England, he was being paid for studio work on guitar (pre-Zeppelin) at age sixteen. He was respected by all the pro's recording --- get this --- country music. So, he was doing work on other's professional recordings when he was but a wee lad.
This goes to say the kid PRACTICED AND WAS OBSESSED WITH HIS GUITAR.
You know the saying --- When someone asks directions, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?"

You need to go back further, to the Rolling Stones and other British band who embraced American blues in the early 1960s. It then became an evolution until you have song like this. Hendrix followed the same path in the US but had to go to the UK to find fame. His manager was British, his record label was British. He then took this "British" blues back to the US along with The Who, Yardbirds and Cream. Led Zeppelin was the future evolution of the Yardbirds under Jimmy Page. Psychedelic rock was LSD influenced British blues and bands often moved between the styles from song to song. It was distinct from acid rock that came out of San Francisco (Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane). Floyd started as a blues-rock band but by the time it found real fame it had become prog rock.
This is just one sample of Jimmy Page. He should win this contest hands down.. Jimmy can sing a little and Robert plays guitar a little but neither that great 👍.

Page is my favorite guitarist but I wouldn’t consider him better than Hendrix. But they were both two of the ballsiest guitarists ever, they both had a shoot from the hip approach and constantly took risks. If Page didn’t get swallowed up in heroin from ‘75 onward I think he could have been a stronger contender for being number 1. But his work from 68-73 def puts him up there

Imagine how we felt growing up in the 70s, this was the soundtrack of our lives. Huge like a a sub for you guys naturally, keep up the good work. You know Robert Plant was at Ronnie Scotts in London when Jeff beck was playing with Tal on the bass, you should check that one out sometime. Jeff beck was pretty good as well, and naturally Eddy Van Halen of course. There is a couple of others to, but Zeppelin was in a class of their own. I also was a huge fan of Robin Trower, saw him a couple of times live, he was one of those guys who you could just tell he loved playing for people like Jimmy does.
The Yardbirds dabbled in Psychedelic blues first I think (with Jeff Beck, "Under, Over, Sideways, Down") but Jimi Hendrix changed the world with it.
Cream were pretty significant in the merging of blues and psychedelia. Some garage bands did it earlier but Cream brought real blues and jazz chops to the table. Then Hendrix and a ton of others.
I was 16 when the neighborhood went to see this concert film at the local theater in Hayward, Ca. They were everything then . Yes , it was very cool . Have seen it probably 20 times since …. Zep forever
