Love the smiles. Yes, it was a different time, and Led Zeppelin was on a level above every great band of the day (and there were many). Check out In My Time of Dying live from Earl's Court to see another one of Jimmy Pages unreal guitar performances. He channels other worldly energies through his guitar.
Jimmy Page often said that John Paul Jones (bass and keyboards) was the best natural musician of the four, and they had a back-history together as session musicians. John Bonham was also a phenomenal drummer (check out the long solo Moby Dick).
This is one of the two or three best live performances of any genre IMO. Those guys were so in the zone that their immense talent just took over and created kind of an otherworldly experience. Fun to see you guys check this out ✌
somebody on another reaction video replied to one of my comments saying Jimmy was on a 3 day coke binge going into this MSG show. Not sure if that's true, possible tho
yes Jimmy Page is killin' it on the guitar as always! But for me, on this particular performance, the vocals are what makes this such an explosive 9 minutes. The amount of soul and conviction of Robert (the lead vocalist) is unreal. it must have been an earth-shattering experience to be in that concert, in that point and time. for first time reactions, some songs i prefer the studio version instead (like of Str to Heaven). But for this song - this live version triumphs all
I personally like all the live versions of Zeppelin songs-they really show what musicians they were(phenomenal)- plus on such songs as this one, Stairway and No Wuarter-there improvisation skills are unreal- songs longer, much more intricate but still flow perfectly-The guitar solo on “ Stairway” is considered by Rolling Stone , Mojo, Gutar Magazine, etc… is considered the greatest guitar solo ever performed 73 MSG!
Yep, back in the day if you looked back over the crowd, there was generally a cloud of smoke and it wasn't all cigarettes. This particular performance was Jimmy Page at is best. He went absolutely sick, but really the whole band was on it. Great reaction and the pattern rings true. Every person I see react to this gets more of a kick out of the crowd than the band. lol
@@mlhesler68 That's part of what made Bonham such an important part of that chemistry. He had a way of keeping it grounded. Black Dog is a perfect example of that.
The Mighty Zeppelin in full flight. Live. Raw. Drums, Keyboards&Bass, Guitar, Vocals. No voice enhancements. Blues meets hard rock head on. This was before my time too, sadly, I just missed out, I saw Robert Plant live in the early 1980s with Jimmy Page as a guest. But seeing and hearing these old gigs of footage like this makes us all realize just what a live act they were. Really enjoyed your reactions guys, thank you.
The Madison Sq. Garden shows from 1973 were the last on that Led Zeppelin tour... they were filmed & recorded for a concert movie. However, the band was tired from months on the road... so the performances weren't the best. Unfortunately, lead singer Robert Plant was injured in a car accident in 1975 and couldn't walk or perform for over 1 yr. So Zeppelin decided to put out the concert movie "The song remains the same" in 1976 just to promote the band while they couldn't tour. It's a great movie to watch today... each member filmed a 'fantasy sequence'...
Kashmir (studio version) is an absolute epic. Each member of the bands states it as their masterpiece. The whole song is amazing, but the last 2 minutes is other worldly. After that do The song remains the same / Rain song - live 1973!!! . - make sure you do them both at the same time bro! 🇬🇧
I was at this show and it was amazing but since you are both new to the band I think the studio version you would of appreciated more!❤🙏 The guitarist is Jimmy Page and he is with me in my profile pic with me and that is how he looks now!
Would you believe this was not even a hit for them? most people only started discovering this song with the internet and or you tube. Lovin your reactions and how you guys pay attention and talk afterwards. Heres a tip. If there is a live version for the song, doing it from Madison Square Garden is ALWAYS the choice. That is the one and only concert that was done professionally and has been enhanced through-out the years. So it's not like your watching something 50 years old. Now there are a few other songs that are not from this concert worth seeing live. The 1972 The Immigrant Song is sort of a spliced together montage of clips because they didn't have the full video of the song anywhere. But it is done very well and still very good because the audio is spot on. Trampled Underfoot and In My Time of Dying from 1975 all have been cleaned up audio and visually. In my Time of Dying is really really good. There is also an acoustic set from the same 1975 concert that is extremely good. Also, anything from their reunion concert from around 2007. If you don't mind seeing old gray haired wrinkly old men. The tribute Heart(Stairway to Heaven) did for them from around the same time is maybe one of the best covers ever made. The drummer died in 1980 so they got his son to play drums on the reunion concert and the Heart tribute performance. And there are a few songs from either the 1979 concert Kashmir for one but I think the reunion concert version is far better and Achilles last Stand that are ok but not as good as MSG sound wise. The sound mix is just off in that concert. And some songs from Albert Hall from 1969 are ok too. The Albert Hall concert surprisingly has better sound quality than the 1979 concert but the band is just starting out and still finding themselves a bit.
They didn't do singles so didn't aim for 'hits' in the singles charts. They sold albums. Their record label eventually released a few of their tracks as singles in the USA, though not in the UK.
Led Zeppelin didn't release singles. Their American label insisted on releasing a few, but they never promoted them, nor bothered with them. They charted anyway. Their albums sold like today's singles do, so it wasn't worth their while to bother with singles. Same for Pink Floyd, Yes, ELP and any number of other bands back then.
Great video y'all, the band members are Robert Plant-Vocals, Jimmy Page-Guitar, John Paul Jones-Bass and Keys, John Bonham-Drums. All four of them are some of the best to ever pick up their instruments.
Enjoying all your reactions led Zeppelin's probably one of the best bands ever this is my favorite live performance. If you can keep on that Beastie boy trip that's fun
Led Zeppelin got a lot of blues inspiration from our southern black artists from the 40's and 50's!Pink Floyd also got their name from 2 black artist from back in the day!
When we went to concerts we were fully present and in awe of the music… might be some “ substances too” 😉 but fully in the moment… No cameras to worry about… just you, the band and the crowd vibing together with great music. Like you all became one with the music. Today it’s more about capturing the moment to “share” it on social media for likes. It takes away from living in the moment. I never felt unsafe at a rock concert and I went to quite a few. It was just thousands of people feeling the music.
Can y'all believe that my girlfriend and I hitchhiked to this concert? From Ohio to New York City. Damn but we was crazy back then! But it was one hell of a concert and still)l one of our favorite memories. (Tied with Paul McCartney at Cincinnati National Baseball Stadium.)
React to-Whole Lotta Love-from this show. It is the finale and they go all in. Jimmy uses a Theramin and the pyrotechnics with a flaming gong at the end. FIRE , literally.
My Uncle and his friends got in to see him through one of the men's restroom windows because all the tickets were sold out. There was no way they were missing his concert. He said that it was the best! He said there were so many joints being thrown on stage, it was crazy!
I could give you a list of zeppelin songs to check out. ALL amazing songs and the band was the greatest ever. I grew up with these bands and think that 1971 was the greatest time ever for Rock Music. I'm so glad to see young people actually getting into the bands of my time. Jimmy Page, the guitarist is to me the greatest to ever play the instrument. Think about this. The Yardbirds was a band in the 60's, and 3 of the greatest guitarist ever all came from that band. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. Jimmy was a session musician of the 60's. Was asked to take over for the yardbirds when they were about to collapse and he said, NO, i'm going to start my own band, and Pufff, Led Zeppelin was formed. One of if not the Greatest band ever. In the late 60's, through the 70's they were the hottest ticket ever, all over the world. Had the biggest plane of the time to travel to all the country's and did their thing. Loved it, and still do
The big man with beard in beginning was their manager peter grant who was responsible for getting the band what they wanted from atlantic and they were right to do so he didnt take shit from no one
You are watching actual rock gods!!!! Best hard rock band in history.. keep listening to them. They will blow everything you know out of the water.. End of story.
I grew up listening to Zepplin almost 50 years now... played the drums to everyone of their songs on every album hundreds of times each. I own every vynel album front when they originally became hits year after year, until they were added to albums. I've seen them three times in three different countries. So blessed to have partied to his music and jammed to it... seen it live... MASTERS OF THE Art!!!! Sorry for all the I've (s) lol... so glad you guys are discovering this Lost master band with real instraments u like today lol. Everyone of those members were masters at their crafts... together... BOOM!!!!!
If this is your first Zeppelin reaction vid, I pray you look into this band and do LOTS more vids of them. They are just amazing. Music like nothing ever heard back in the '60s until Led Zeppelin came along, and Eric Clapton and Cream, or all those that came after them. Ten years gone, Kashmir, Ramble on, and so many more songs from Zeppelin. YOu'll love all of them. Jimmy Page, Jimmy Page. To me, the greatest ever.
Tightest freestyling, jammin live band in the world ever! Jimmy Page on guitar- Robert Plant on vocals , John Bonham best drummer , John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards...the best musicians that came together to make magic! Playing sometimes up to 2 to 3 hours....
Really happy u both like this band. LZ has a very special place in my heart, we grew up together. Glad to see next generations enjoy them. Thank you peace ✌️

I see Led Zeppelin, I like and Subscribe. Jimmy Page - Guitar (also produced most of Led Zeppelin's albums) Robert Plant - Vocal (and Harmonica, not in this song of course) John Bonham - Drums John Paul Jone - Bass, Key Board, etc (most under rated member in this band, and he is absolute amazing). Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest if not the greatest (my fav) rock band of all time. Gad you guys starting to react. Waiting to see more from both of you. Please try these song - Kashmir - Celebration Day Live (Led Zpeelin did not continue after their Drummer John Bonham passed away in 1980. They did One concert in 2007 i think, with Bonham's Son on the drums) Immigrant Song - Live at Sydney 1972 Dazed and Confused In My Time Of Dying (remake of a gospel song written by Blind Willie Johnson) - this will show you the power of Bonham behind the drums Cant wait for more from you guys
Yep, i'm 55 and just was blown away for the first time, by the guitarist Jimmy Page at the tender age of 9. Yeah, we definitely had our social/political problems back then. But at least for me as a kid in the 70's....WONDERFUL!!
This band was fire🔥! They and others like them were the inspiration and influence for so much of the music that came after them and as such deserve the respect of you learning their names. So here they are….The lead guitarist is Jimmy Page, one of the greatest guitarists to grace this Earth. The sex on legs lead singer is Robert Plant (yes you could tell the religion of many young men back in the day 😉) John Paul Jones on bass & keyboards and John (Bonzo) Bonham on drums. This is the second Led Zep reaction I’ve watched from you, and I enjoy your comments and facial expressions and I hope you can get your issues with UA-cam sorted out. I don’t understand how it all works really, when so many other reactors can show the video without greying it out, it’s such a shame! I’ve seen these videos so many times, it didn’t really worry me too much. I’m sorry for any of your younger viewers watching that probably haven’t seen it before, but maybe it will inspire them to check it out for themselves. I’d love to see your reaction to two other favourite bands, and in particular, some stellar live performances. Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb live at Pulse1994 and Queen, Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, some may say is an even better guitarist than Jimmy Page. And Freddie Mercury from Queen is a legend for good reason, somebody to love will show exactly why. Keep it up guys, I love seeing young people appreciate other genres of music than rap and hip hop.
**** I hope you realize that you have just witnessed The Best Blues Performance ever. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham and John Paul Jones are individual Gods but together especially in this performance is The Absolute Cream of The Crop.
You should always listen to the album/studio versions first. Especially with Zeppelin. This way you'll know what your listening to when you hear it live and you'll appreciate their incredible talent even more. Their live performances are quite different than the studio. Speaking of which, the studio version of this song is off the freakin' chain.
1973 was an amazing year for music, rock, soul, R&B. It was a great time to be a teenager. The way we got music was a trip. We'd hear a great song drop on the radio and have to wait till they'd play it again then scrape up the cash to go buy the record and play it to death. I played Led Zep to death.
So much confidence! For Plant to just come in like he did after that virtuoso performance by the band...I sure as hell wouldn't have the balls to sing over the top of that.
The confidence this man exudes is amazing. I think their wasn't a person on earth that wouldn't blush when given attention from him . This performance has me questioning my sexuality. Really. Fufking wow.
Concerts in the 70s? Great!. The whole experience. I got on a party coach to Detroit from Toronto, to see these guys. Mid 70s. Killer sound system on the coach. Blasting music. Drinking and smoking dope right up to near the border. Saw the best rock band of the day. Maybe still. Epic day. I was around 21. 65 now. Still love this music today
Those are peoples grandparents in that crowd. I’m old myself and back then as soon as the music started there would be a mushroom cloud of pot smoke. Most were stoned and the girls were mesmerized and hoping Robert Plant would pick them out of the crowd
You pick. Ten Years gone. Kashmir, Ramble on. Check out their 4th Album and just pick one. But they are all great, 4 albums in 2 years. Unheard of back then. Plus, the record company's wanted them to do singles, and they refused, said our fan's will buy our albums, so, NO singles Only band to do that. I could name any one of maybe 20 or more songs well worth your time. Please do more, you will love them all.
At the start its when the drum solo is on and the rest go backstage . The person talking at first is their manager Peter Grant. Then Robert plant the singer.

yes Jimmy Page is killin' it on the guitar as always!
Listen to one from the summer of 1972 or before when his voice wasn't on his way out. Even better!
Yep, back in the day if you looked back over the crowd, there was generally a cloud of smoke and it wasn't all cigarettes. This particular performance was Jimmy Page at is best. He went absolutely sick, but really the whole band was on it. Great reaction and the pattern rings true. Every person I see react to this gets more of a kick out of the crowd than the band. lol
His playing was so uneven. Made it hard for the bass and drums to stay together in the song's structure.
I love hearing young people react to the great music from my youth and say they wish they were there! Today’s music just can’t compare
And Kashmir has no lead guitar wailing solo. Great stuff.
One of the best guitarist that ever lived Jimmy Page. There will never be a band like this again. The first true rock gods of all time. 🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥
When the good Lord put those 4 dudes together it was magic bands have been chasing them for years the best band of all time period.
Don't think so anyone who bought Led Zep 111 Album loves this.
Wow! You’re thorough! I actually appreciate your insights. Thanks! 👍🥰😍
@@LynneConnolly They released 16 in all.
One of the best Rock-N-Roll bands to ever live and will always be one of the best. 🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸
Glad you are enjoying Zep. I requested them when you first started :) Hope your mom is doing well.
Thank you so much!
When we went to concerts we were fully present and in awe of the music… might be some “ substances too” 😉 but fully in the moment…
No cameras to worry about… just you, the band and the crowd vibing together with great music. Like you all became one with the music. Today it’s more about capturing the moment to “share” it on social media for likes. It takes away from living in the moment.
I never felt unsafe at a rock concert and I went to quite a few. It was just thousands of people feeling the music.
These guys were music gods, freaks of nature.
Can y'all believe that my girlfriend and I hitchhiked to this concert? From Ohio to New York City. Damn but we was crazy back then! But it was one hell of a concert and still)l one of our favorite memories. (Tied with Paul McCartney at Cincinnati National Baseball Stadium.)
sorry you missed all this music we grew up with but thanks for keeping it alive.
React to-Whole Lotta Love-from this show. It is the finale and they go all in. Jimmy uses a Theramin and the pyrotechnics with a flaming gong at the end. FIRE , literally.
I got to see them in early 70's in Mobile, Alabama! 3 solid hours of pure Bliss🌹
Aren't they magnificent? Please...do more!! JIMMY PAGE...GUITAR!
WE ARE ALL CONNECTED IN MANY WAYS! God bless you and your family!
My Uncle and his friends got in to see him through one of the men's restroom windows because all the tickets were sold out. There was no way they were missing his concert. He said that it was the best! He said there were so many joints being thrown on stage, it was crazy!
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band….
Rock Gods! No one makes music that good anymore!
Loved it, and still do
Whole Lotta love same concert it's amazing af
Thank you guys for making such a fine tribute to the music of our day........a Boomer.
The big man with beard in beginning was their manager peter grant who was responsible for getting the band what they wanted from atlantic and they were right to do so he didnt take shit from no one
U guys are just scratching the surface of led zeppelin. There is so much great music by them. Give a listen to dazed and confused or kashmir
Love Zeppelin
You are watching actual rock gods!!!! Best hard rock band in history.. keep listening to them. They will blow everything you know out of the water..
End of story.
The Blues.
Best band ever. Especially live! They improvised so much live they never played the se song the same way twice. They were all steller musiciians
Everyone of those members were masters at their crafts... together... BOOM!!!!!
Just the GOATs been a fan 50 yrs. Seen them live. They are the benchmark. Few get anywhere near....
In my time of dying and Fool in the rain are two of my favorites
Gosh the guitar is insane
Tightest freestyling, jammin live band in the world ever! Jimmy Page on guitar- Robert Plant on vocals , John Bonham best drummer , John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards...the best musicians that came together to make magic! Playing sometimes up to 2 to 3 hours....
Careful Recklezz!! Watching Zeppelin live,Robert Plant might end up stealing your girl!!!😂😂😂😂
Probably the Greatest Band in Rock Ever!
Really happy u both like this band. LZ has a very special place in my heart, we grew up together. Glad to see next generations enjoy them. Thank you peace ✌️
…great reaction guys… surely, live music doesn’t get much better than this…
yeah you just experienced the greatest rock band ever. and the 4 greatest musicians ever assembled in one band. and giving away my age? i saw them on this '73 tour of the US. thanks guys🙏🏻
Bought this album when it came out. This was my favourite track on the album (and they are all brilliant), but this meant most to me at the time.
Me also. It took me some 30 plus years to revisit Zep Ill to realize just how incredible it was....and still is.
Zeppelin was great in concert. Oh my. U have no idea how great there show was
I see Led Zeppelin, I like and Subscribe.
Jimmy Page - Guitar (also produced most of Led Zeppelin's albums)
Robert Plant - Vocal (and Harmonica, not in this song of course)
John Bonham - Drums
John Paul Jone - Bass, Key Board, etc (most under rated member in this band, and he is absolute amazing).
Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest if not the greatest (my fav) rock band of all time. Gad you guys starting to react. Waiting to see more from both of you. Please try these song -
Kashmir - Celebration Day Live (Led Zpeelin did not continue after their Drummer John Bonham passed away in 1980. They did One concert in 2007 i think, with Bonham's Son on the drums)
Immigrant Song - Live at Sydney 1972
Dazed and Confused
In My Time Of Dying (remake of a gospel song written by Blind Willie Johnson) - this will show you the power of Bonham behind the drums
Cant wait for more from you guys
Yep, i'm 55 and just was blown away for the first time, by the guitarist Jimmy Page at the tender age of 9. Yeah, we definitely had our social/political problems back then. But at least for me as a kid in the 70's....WONDERFUL!!
The guitar was great, but the vocals were the thing that made Zeppelin historic. His voice was like another instrument. Ask any musician.
You bring hope when it comes to the younger generation, and old-school ROCK!
The Guitarists name is JIMMY PAGE.
Before Led Zep - there was The Rolling Stones - checkout - can’t you hear me knocking!! Great jam when Mick Taylor was in the lineup
Led zeppelin "whole Lotta love"
As a 17 year old, I was at this concert in 1973. I guarantee, everyone in that crowd was stoned! 🥴🥴
When you started saying something about the hypnotize girl I thought you were talking about the girl beside you
You too are just an adorable couple
Jimmy Page the GOAT. That whole crowd was f'd up ! Do the ocean from that same concert .
The very first note that Plant comes in on sounds other worldly.
Saw them live in 1970...tickets were $5..couldn't hear for 3 days...best concert I ever saw
You gotta check out " What is and What Should Never Be" Live at Royal Albert Hall 1970 by Led Zeppelin!
Those are peoples grandparents in that crowd. I’m old myself and back then as soon as the music started there would be a mushroom cloud of pot smoke. Most were stoned and the girls were mesmerized and hoping Robert Plant would pick them out of the crowd
EVERYBODY got high at concerts, back then. Even if we weren't smoking !
This was hours into this concert.most groups don't have this energy at the beginning of their shows!
Same concert.....Dazed and Confused, Madison Sq. Garden, 1973. Be prepared to be knocked out.
That fire as hell guy is Jimmy Page, absolute legend among legends in Led Zep.
I was at this show at MSG July 1973. Amazing show start to finish.
At the start its when the drum solo is on and the rest go backstage . The person talking at first is their manager Peter Grant. Then Robert plant the singer.
1973 Absolutely the best concert ever!!!!!!
