@@SecretSquirrrrel it depends on your hair type. I have a lot of fine hair and the volume injection redkin helped bring it back to life after a year of using the redkin argan oil line. The argan oil weighed down my hair and made the ends super thin and crunchy, and my scalp was left dry and itchy. Now my hair seems cleaner and lighter and softer. Maybe check the reviews with the hair types listed it might help. It’s worth a try for sure. I also use the leave in conditioner from purology.

CONFESSION: I purchased the volume injection shampoo and conditioner and posted that I agreed with some others that it made my hair drier and more brittle and put it away. Decided to rewatch your how to shampoo your hair video again and I did the Trinity system, added some heat protection and roughly blow dried. I've woken up this morning with clean hair that is not laying flat on my scalp, has volume, shine and body. I don't even need to do anything to my hair!!!!!!

I'd love if someday you'd talk about personalized shampoo brands like Function of Beauty or Prose. The ones where you fill out an online survey and they formulate a special shampoo that's (according to them) perfect for your hair.
Do you have opinions on them? How often do they land on that "hair soul mate" formula in your experience? Since that's their main selling point it *ought* to be pretty often, but it feels too good to be true since they haven't taken over the industry yet.

Personal opinion here! I tried Function of Beauty and absolutely loved it, healthiest my hair has ever looked and felt after using it. My partner used it for their flaky, itchy scalp and helped them as well. I can even use the formula my partner uses and it still makes my hair feel good which tells me the base formula that FoB uses is overall really good. I stopped using it just because money is tight but will absolutely go back when I can. Everyone is different though but thought I would give my thoughts after using it for a few months!

I am *obsessed* with the ultralight, saturating hair oil from Sisley. I have incredibly fine hair, nearly bald PCOS-cancer remission hair. I’m almost 60 & my hair barely has any grey. But there are a few strands that are entirely a different, more duty texture than my arrow-straight dark hair. I shampoo gently. I use a length conditioner, towel dry lightly, then I use a scalp serum & ends oil. Then a slight misting if leave-in yo hold it back gently.
People might sneer that I use Sisley hair oil, but it is soo much less sticky & thick that I can distribute it

I feel like there’s a lot of mixed opinions on the Olaplex shampoo.. I actually love it. My hair is very fine, but I have a lot of it and it’s very long. I bought the Redken Volume Injection and tried my best to wash my hair like I was at the salon, and it seemed very clean but my hair was also like.. too lightweight? My hair felt super fine and lightweight, but that did not translate to volume, despite also trying all the blow dry techniques and products. It got oily within 2 days. I went back to Olaplex shampoo, alternating with Ouai detox shampoo every once in awhile and I think that’s really the magic cocktail for my hair to have some grit and body to it. I know the bond repair aspect of the shampoo is a stretch, but I do feel like it somehow gives my hair some volume while also getting it super clean.

My hair is damaged, falls out a lot, oily, does not grow and I have tried everything. I will try to stick to the routine you said. I will wash my hair 2 times a week and do a deep clean once a week, but I also want to do an oil treatment for scalp once a week so that my hair stays stronger and healthier. I don’t want to constantly wear my hair straight by blow drying it but also don’t want to use the diffuser to make my curls. It dries out pretty naturally but all the curl creams I’ve got make my hair look bad the next day. Since I’ve been dying my hair it is also quite porous so even after I blow dry it, it gets very puffy and almost never smooth. I agree, I try to leave all that extra stuff out of my shampoos and focus solely on scalp cleansing. What I like to do if I want to incorporate moisturizer or oils is to lightly spritz Shu Uemura Izumi Tonic Strengthening Rice Water Treatment to my length and ends in-between my wash days to add moisture and seal that in with your favorite daily oil. This product is expensive, but if you find your hair getting dry in-between wash days, this might help someone out there. This product is also good to lightly spray in your scalp. If it is too expensive, I feel like any purified water will do. A light spritz won't even undo my style (I straighten and curl with heat)

Also, have you heard or tried the Colleen Rothschild products? I’ve watched a UA-cam person talk about them and rave. I did order the whole system before I found your channel. They are okay. Not sure how I feel about them yet.
And I have the kerstase oil. Is that comparable to the olaplex?
I want to say thank you for making it simple for healthy hair. I have a product graveyard under my sink in the bathroom. For years I kept trying the curly girl method and kept buying more and more products hoping they would become my “ holy grail”.

Another thing re color safe shampoos: my hair is pink (from a conditioner, no less) but it lasts forever. I think because I’m older. It falls out of my son’s hair super fast. So, I think colorsafe might only be necessary for ppl in their teens and 20s when their hair is oilier. I’d like to know more about using heat styling (on my fine, straight, yet frizzy hair) to control frizz. I am an air dryer mostly because I am completely hair inept. The only plus side of that is that I could never get down the styles of the 80s and 90s, so I don’t have embarrassing hair pics. But I’d like to know how to deal with frizz.

I honestly don’t like anything with shea or argan oil because it irritates my skin. Coconut oil doesn’t penetrate the hair shaft either and just sits on top which weighs my hair down but it still ends up dry and frizzy. My friend is very allergic to nuts and this argan oil and shea trend has made her break out so bad since they are both from tree nuts. She has a hard time finding stuff she can use these days that actually work well for her hair.

Little did I know how life changing that would be. Strength Cure changed my hair from hard, dry and extremely difficult to detangle out of the shower, to soft shiny hair that I could detangle in a few minutes with my Tangle Teezer. Also I have almost no breakage since using Pureology Strength Cure, I was able to go for 9 months before needing a trim on my ends. That’s never happened before! It’s been 2 years and I still use it regularly to maintain my healthy hair. I buy the litre bottles when they’re on sale at Ulta. It’s overpriced but holy moly does it ever work well on my hair.
