    Bummer! I washed the engine on my LR3 and when I got home all my dash warning lights were on. Ended up that the transfer case control module got water in it. The module is located behind the battery on the firewall. I took it apart, gently blew some compressed air on the circuit board to dry it out. Reinstalled and everything was back to normal. Extra careful with that when washing the engine from now on. I also had water issues on my first LR3, leaks on both pillar drains. That ruined a few wires which controlled the sun-roof, down on the (US version) passenger side. Good to see you got your Rover fixed👍🏻. I used my compressor to blow the water out of the carpet, straight through, then wet-dry vac the hell out of it.

      Yeah first place I went to was that module and it was dry and clean so lifted the carpet and was like dam! It's not 100 % sorted yet still have a few random gremlins any other plugs inside the car you recommend cleaning

    Having the same sort of fun myself. I pulled about 2 litres of water out before I removed the seats and lifted the carpets. Most of my fault codes cleared when I cleaned the connectors at the body rear disconnect area.

    Had almost the same issuea last year
    I have the S model but with a sunroof. Not knowing the issue, the car stood in the rain in a decent storm. The next day, the car was so wet, the whole gutter where the wires ran, was filled to the brim with water. The sunroof drain elbows were disintegrated. I now have a nice sticker covering the sunroof, not using it because of the roof rack. Glad you fixed it. Wouldnt swap mine for anything.

      How did yours end up did u have any faults or did you get lucky , I still have a few gremlins to sort out , what has me worried is when it does play up low range won't work which is a bit of a worry

      @@OUTBACKDiscovery ,oh the faults were everywhere! Air suspension faults, brake faults, steering angle faults ,the list almost as long as yours! Haha. But luckily its mostly dry air in Namibia, so with doors open for an afternoon cleared it. Had to vacuum most of the water out. I am not sure about your low range issue. But I would suggest trying your passenger side door sill. Most of those wires also runs towards the back.

      @@OUTBACKDiscovery , Random question. I have searched the entire internet and struggle to find a straight answer. How much do you think is your roof load capacity with a full roof rack? I have the Front runner full rack, mounted to the factory roof nuts, and some say te max load is 75kg. Which for me is useless as the rack already weighs 25kg

    • @OUTBACKDiscovery
      @OUTBACKDiscovery  3 роки тому

      @@landroverexpeditionsnamibi3040 so static load will be alot higher probly around the 200kg mark or something , the 75kg rating will be for when your driving ill do some research and give you an answer

    I’ve never looked at the drains on mine (with sunroof). This has motivated me to do this ASAP. Thanks for taking the time. Good luck with the last faults. What are the codes remaining? Maybe post those and see if anyone can identify the source.

      The yaw centre and vehicle dynamics body control, and some of the other cods occasionally still pop back up but it has made a difference havnt found any info as yet and it's breaking me hahah may have to drop it off to a specialist for the first time

      I have a different car but just had the same issue with the drains. I feel they could put them somewhere more noticeable then under cowling so that people notice them.

    If you see blue tape on the harness its probably a splice joint. They did not weather seal these on early models and they can corrode especially if you have water sitting in those door areas. Also, post the code number in the video description here, maybe someone will know more.

    • @OUTBACKDiscovery
      @OUTBACKDiscovery  3 роки тому

      There all sorted now I got rid of 8 codes by electrical cleaning out the plugs
      And the last 4 codes were due to a failing yaw sensor module which was probly cause by the water in the plugs haha
      The codes I had were written down at the beginning of the video
      I can't remember seeing any blue tape but I might lift the carpet back up and have a look for safe keeping not interested in getting green death

    Ah mate. Spewing about the water in the car. Well done pulling it all apart and getting it going again.
    I had someone in a car park I can only guess that’s where it happend damage the passenger side door trim on me which also broke some of the plastic trim fixers on me :(
    Where did you get you trim fixers from to plug your leak? Or did you already have a stock pulled up for that just incase moment lol

      It's dried out but still have a few occasional gremlins popping up alot better then before but still not perfect its all leading to the yaw sensor , so I have one coming for it if that doesn't work I'll need to properly pull the cab apart and trace the wiring out to check everything
