  • Got those stock tires off my Honda CRF300L pronto and replaced with a pair of Tusk DSports. I give a quick ride and review of the new Tusk DSports in this video and honestly I'm quite impressed with the performance. I think the Tusk DSports are going to work just fine for the type of riding I'll be doing!

When i actually 50/50 rode, the oem tires like the d605 on my Klx {similar to your IRCs} worked good when aired down to 13psi off pavement. Helps to give these bikes less sag also, to help steer on loose hard pack roads.

My 450L came with the same IRC’s. I was actually impressed with them for what they were. I never found myself truly hating them. But I’m a huge IRC fan and the TR8s are my all-time favorite.

How are the TR8s on pavement? Loud? Im surprised more people dont know about them cuz it seems like a softer compound comparible to D606, which i didnt like

I’ve had the D Sport tires on my 250L for about 2k miles and love them. I also feel like the grip has improved as they’ve worn down except in muddy conditions. My only complaint is that the rear is really heavy, but that just comes with the thicker tread/long life so I guess it’s a fair trade off. Nice video!

Great review thanks! Just received my set today. I wiped out 3 times in the Nellis Sand Dunes on my stock death wings on my DRZ. I'm going to put these on and try again.

I really like the Tusk D Sports, just got a new set to put on my DR650. They've run very well on my 300L and XT250.

You should love the DSports. Wet pavement is their only weak spot. Drz400s

Appreciate you watching and supporting the channel! I called every dealer in three states for a Rally, no luck! Still stoked with my bike though!

I had the Tusk Dsports on my XR650L. I liked them on the street but front tire felt somewhat unstable in the dirt in sand and gravel. Lots of wandering. They did get better after some wear and these tires are directional and critical to mount correctly. Don't ask me how I know...the front is nearly unrideable if you mount backwards. Would try the D606s next time.

It's amazing how confidence inspiring tires can be! Even though this was your first outing with them, you were carrying a lot more speed and confidence over the obstacles on the trail than you usually do in your videos. It's really noticeable as a viewer. There are obviously a lot of factors, but between you getting more comfortable with the bike and your knowledge of the trail systems, your improvement as a rider is definitely evident, as well.
You'll find that the D-Sports are pretty much good at everything. The only squirreliness I noticed with them was on super loose gravel, especially in turns. But that can be said for basically every DOT approved tire out there. I think you'll really appreciate the hard tire compound too once it warms up in STG. That's when the tread pattern will soften a bit and vibrate a little less. But you will see quite a bit of wear on the street, but obviously, that's just to be expected from any knobby. Keep up the good work dude, your riding has improved substantially. Hope to get some riding in with ya at some point, brother!

So a night and day difference? Had mine for about a month and I was really uncomfortable on the dirt too. Very slippery. I'll have to change them asap. Great video👍

I didn't notice much of a difference on the asphalt but on the dirt I could certainly tell, the DSports had much better traction on the gravel and I didn't feel like the bike was going to slip out from under me on turns (in the dirt). The stock IRCs were no bueno on the dirt for me. Appreciate you watching!

Still waiting for my CRF 300L, but going to replace the IRC’s asap when it arrives. Do the Tusk’s not come in the OEM dimensions or did you go to the slightly different dimensions on recommendation from the seller?

I bought them from Rocky Mt ATV and the size matched the bike, it gives you an option to type in your machine. I saw they were a little bigger and did some research and found people had no problems with the size so I went for it. Hope you get your 300L soon!
