    That looks like TN country…I still have a set of the DSports that I haven’t used. The front looks very similar to a D606 on the knob pattern. Good enough is all you need. The $120 you save can be applied to your next adventure.

      Hello Tim, that view is why my wife forced me to buy the property! We are the highest point in the county. You need to go to North Carolina to block our view.
      I know many guys are looking for the very best, and I understand that. Me, I am looking for "good enough." As you said... Money saved can be used to have an adventure! - Frank

    Nice summary, Frank. The tires are great bang for the buck. Ran my first set for way too many miles and am about halfway through my second set now.

      Hello Andrew, I got a few comments about how terrible they are... on the poster's dirt bike of EXC 500. Yep... not the tire for the HARDCORE, but good for mortal men going out to have a great ride. (IMHO) - Frank

    Good review Frank, I have them on my DR650 and the rear of the KLR after having D606 & K270's. My complaint with the front is it can get scary at highway speeds when hitting groves on the road, but they actually corner surprisingly well on the road. The rear is awesome everywhere. Not much mud where I am so I went to more of a 60/40 in the front of the KLR and will do the same on the DR after riding the White rim trail. A great value in tires. 30 minutes mounting a tire very respectable.

      I have had the same experience at highway speeds and hitting grooves. Gets a little squidgy.

      Hello Doc, my record is 13 minutes for a front! I put the tire in the giant window of my Campervan while I was at work. It's was gummy and went right on! (It was August.) - Frank

      @@OneOldManRiding I hear you Frank, I have my KLR tore apart for water pump and metal in the motor, also working on the $1500 KLR I picked up a few weeks ago. Got two new Cat 🐈 converters coming for the truck. Since it failed emission and then I dinked around on that Colman mini bike but it sold quick 🤣😂 I’m trying to get the new KLR ready for a trip somewhere, I spent two days just cleaning the filthy bike with a tooth brush, WD40 and kerosene, I hope I get to finally ride the new KLR650 today. Whew!! My garage looks like a bomb went off in it and my bank account is on life support … haha living the dream. Great to hear from you Frank as always. Today is the last day to sign up for the palmetto rally. I had crazy thoughts of riding the $1500 klr there. CRAZY CRAZY thoughts 😵‍💫🫣🫠

    When on my KTM 500 I always err on the dirt side. I run the firm bibs from and rear and keep them lubed well. I typically only get one dual sport ride on a set of tires. I'd rather be safe on the dirt than sorry.

    • @OneOldManRiding
      @OneOldManRiding  7 місяців тому

      Hello David, we should all run the tire that works for us. Your bike is a LOT more bike than mine as well. The Honda is going to run out of performance before the tires! 🤣 Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

    I installed a set on my wr250r and I found the front tire is garbage but the rear is one of the best.. change the front after only 300 miles and installed the pirelli mt21 on the front and man what a game changer that was!! You should try it.. I'm willing to bet you will never run that tusk dsport front again

      @@OneOldManRidingHell, at this point is worth a try. I'd rather run a cheaper tire that I know I'll wear out than an expensive one that is 2X cost and is no better! 🍻

      @@OneOldManRiding thanks for the reply. I’ve been pretty interested in the Tusk Dsports, I do occasionally have to get on the freeway for a few of my rides (70-mph) but it is short little trips. With a 250, I prefer to not be on the freeway very long.
      You mentioned your 250L is really more, did you do a big bore kit? If you have a playlist or videos on that, let me know!

    • @OneOldManRiding
      @OneOldManRiding  7 місяців тому +1

      Hello Laine, I had a local shop on NY install the stroker kit for the CB300 in my bike. It's less ran HP than a big bore kit, however, it's OEM parts so there is probably more of a reliability factor. With an exhaust and tuner, my bike is 27HP at the wheel. I am told the 2016, With a different exhaust port l size can be 28HP. - Frank
