I have watched countless review videos about this bike, and to be Honest, This is my favorite so far. Its nothing less and nothing more, what is needed, after the tremendous number of speck videos, and commercial vlogs, I'd watched. . Its simple, its personal. Until I will buy it, I will not look after videos like this. Thanks a lot. Really.
I have a 14 CRF250L that I've essentially made into a lightweight advantage bike. What I did was add a windshield by GP kompozit, double take indestructible adventure mirrors (the stock mirrors are not sturdy if you fall, ask me how I know 😂) and I added a rack by kemimoto. It's cheaper than others and works fine. I also added a acerbis skid plate, acerbis frame guards and a headlight guard. I added protaper half waffle grips Aswell and I'm very light on my luggage setup so I use nelson rigg dual sport saddle bags (they fit perfectly on my CRF250L) and if I'm carrying more i use a backpack, however I know the rack has mounting space for bags but I don't have any use for my riding. Anyways I hope this helps. I swear by all these items as sturdy for my riding, I live in the Mojave/great basin deserts and I know through tons of drops on rocks and sand that they all will work and not break. By the way, the rear shock is adjustable on all CRF250L and 300L models. They all come at the lowest setting. Mine is up all the way and I'm 6'3 295 and it doesn't bottom out anymore than it would for anybody else
I really like the crf 300 L All my riding is Harley street glide. Thinking seriously on a Honda 300 as second bike for some different type of adventures adventures.

Lived in Orem 18 years. I've ridden all the same spots...the hills & trails up behind the water tank in Pleasant Grove...and up Squaw Peak, South Fork & Alpine loop. My last bike I had there before I moved was a CRF250L. Also rode them all on a DR650. Miss the area although I have more riding days now down here in St George area. The 300 sounds like a great bike and might be an addition in my garage. Thanks for the vid. Was fun to see all my previous stomping grounds. Have fun Be Safe!
Great review, great comentary, I bought a 300l, from a friend of mine, 2021 in 2023, It had 4 miles on it! He purchased it in 2022, hes 65 and a little over wheight, he could not get his leg over it, Im 62! And not a kid anymore, but love camping and backpacking, I live in AZ, amnd you dont have to go far to be out in the middle of no ware! Best purchased I ever did, I just wanted somthing to get me out to no ware in the desert, Ive already droped it 4 times, I never knew how to ride in and sandy wash, groing up in N.C. but I learned, and I love this bike Im not trying to get air, just point A to point B. Ware not many tourists go. Yes rear shock, is soft, but ok. Im going to adjust thghten the rear shock and I think it will be fine for me The main point for me at 62 yrs. Is that bike is reliable, not perfect at anything but good at most! And I loved your viedo! Thanks!
Well today, I borrowed a long punch, and a big hammer, from my friend, put my 300l on the stand, sprayed som WD, on the adjustment threads, and loosened the top ring on the mono shock, and cranked the spring depression ring, two full turns down! WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE THAT MADE! I'm sure a k- tech, shock would be better, But I think, that punch and hammer saved me $600.00 dollars, we will see? After I did that I drove one mile and took it out in the desert, and loved it! When I purchased the bike it was lowered, which took more tension, off the spring, I'm 62 and 190 lbs. And it was like and old cadlic" soft as he'll! But not know! I adjusted it back to stock and put two turns, on the compression ring, and I think that's going to work for me. I think every should try that first before They buy a 600.00 shock, and nothing wrong with that either!
Just put 11,000 on my 300L Rally. I take it everywhere. 1,000 mile trips and dirt roads. Upgrades that I did to improve: 50/50 tires, Yoshimura exhaust (best upgrade with noticeable power) and ECU.
I’ve got 1600 miles on my CRF300L Rally. Moto camping. I also have a 2016 Africa Twin and a 2006 Goldwing. The Rally is so easy and manageable. Especially in the dirt and slow speed maneuvering. Doing the TAT next year with the Rally. Agree with you on the review.
Good video and I fully agree with your perspective. It's refreshing to see the smaller bike perspective and recognition of the benefits for normal riding scenarios.

Fun little machines for sure! I went from a DR650 to a 300 Rally. Both do the same job - one is lighter, more economical and fun to ride. Don't rush out to change the stock tires - you'll have 4000 miles of fun on them before they're done. Get new handlebars, (bar risers if you're feeling cramped) a throw over luggage system, and go exploring 😎👍
I've learned to ALWAYS wipe brake rotors with Acetone BEFORE turning a wheel, removing any shipping rust preventatives and allowing the pads to bed-in more smoothly ... creating that smooth, rather than grooved, rotor look.

Nice review. Have CRF300L Rally ABS due next week to add to my small collection.Wanted a faring of some sort and ABS is a life saver in some situations. I am anticipating adding in a Rally Raid Level 1 suspension upgrade as I am above 200 lbs and would like to add soft panniers. My other bike is a Moto Guzzi V85TT which I love but is a bit heavy for any challenging offroad riding.
I have owned two xt225 and two xt250 and regret selling every bike. I just sold my last one in September and now want another bike. I have been looking at the crf300l. I can only Tippy toe on it but I think I would be alright. I can get a lower seat for it. I know they make a 300 LS but they don't sell that in Canada. I'm glad you gave a comparison between best bike in the xt250 because I want something with a little more power in just a little better bike all around.

I got the rally version early on. I needed the bigger tank and wind protection. Many “upgrades” but the only two I think it needed was the ECU re-program which gave me a better throttle response and power band. And I did the suspension. I’m 6’ 190lbs without gear so it was a bit soft. Great bike you’ll love it.

The tw is an Easier. Bike to ride but I do. Think it will limit your ability to grow. As a rider And the crf Far more capable And pretty much every way And don't worry about missing out on the low gearing of the tw I would say the first gear is comparable on both bikes.

I came here interested in the bike, I stayed for the views... Man this place looks great! I come from a flat place where the highest peaks is at barely 1000 feet and these mountains are simply magnificent! I am actually looking at buying the 300 L Rally version, but I am a tad apprehensive since in my 10 years of riding I've owned 6 different bikes and all were 600+ cc displacement bikes (most of those bit thumpers) but they have been all a chore to ride and dumbly expensive for what I've used them fore (rare rides). So I'm looking to trade in my brand new Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono supermoto for something more sensible :D I know I need to testride to understand whether the loss in power would be a deal breaker or not..
I own a Honda 1000, it is awesome on pavement, sucks off road. Six hundred pounds or more. I bought the 300, find myself riding it more ,cause its so light and easy to ride. Thinking about selling my 1000, and getting the rally for the street.
@@randallwhite9015 Yeah, I managed to trade in the Ducati and get the CRF300L. Planning on putting the tower on it, but other than that it is a light and fun bike indeed. Go everywhere, do anything kinda bike. Half the price of the Ducati, but plenty more practical.
@@brandmanstorys9216 In Australia, I bought one based solely on this video and it's terrific for what I want as a 65 year old senior citizen lifelong motorcyclist who wants to maintain basic physical dexterity and co ordination riding in our outer city towns with plenty of twisty low to medium speed bitumen roads! Yah I did there just aren't eny available And they're also more expensive. I just plan on throwing an aftermarket tank on this and it'll suit my needs.
Good review . You really should be a lot gentler for the first hundred miles at least and not pushing past 4.5k revs. Found my Rally engine loosen with lots more go between 400 to 500 miles with running in gently. A remap of EU restricted ECU once run in , rear cheap rack from Taiwan and Cool cover the only mods . The remap gives me an increased mpg and much more go . Averaging 101 UK mpg . Compared to 92 mpg before.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I plan on doing. Just bigger gas tank suspension. I'm debating on the ECU

I really wish we got the led lights like the European version. Why do we not get that in the USA?
bought mine in Portugal end of 2023, didn't get the led lights version either so not just USA
I believe only the Asian and Australian models come with the LED headlight and indicators as stock. I'm in the UK and we don't get the LED's either.
