I listened to about 30 Ghost songs before I even remotely dived into their lore. I got into them for the songs, not the lore. I only recently went on a deep lore dive. And it has definitely improved my already great appreciation for what they are doing. Though, in the grand scheme, there is nothing like live Ghost. They remind me of what it was like seeing Metallica or Pantera or Sepultura at the height of their abilities in the early 1990s. You're watching a band killing it every night nearly flawlessly, sometimes making the album songs sound way better live.

there is a lot of story - the music video shows how papa nihil and sister imperator met for the first time and how papa nihil joined the satanic church. and the other guy at the start was the man who was eaten
That's interesting. However, without researching the band and knowing this beforehand, it is not something you can get from the music video. As this was a first time reaction, we are not familiar with Ghost's different characters and how they fit into this overall story, if we were it would be less of a first time reaction. This is why we actually said it felt like it was part of a bigger story and that we were missing some elements. We might have to read up on Ghost before doing the next one... I downloaded all of Ghosts songs with a few other bands catalog all at once and when I heard this one I thought to myself "what Alice Cooper song is this" When I found out it was Ghost I knew they were going to be my jam. Check out Square Hammer. It might be their most main stream song
Another good Ghost reaction, guys.. Now why didn't I comment on this one.. lol This one is from the "Prequelle" album.. and the theme of the album is the black plague.. the pandemic that killed around 25 million people in Europe. The disease was spread both from human to human.. and by animals (mostly rats.. Yes, the song "Rats" you reacted to is also from the Prequelle album). When people thought they were most certainly going to die of the plague, they partied and danced like there literally were no tomorrow. That is described as a dance macabre.. BTW: The character at the door who is half goat, half man is Baphomet.. Looking at the lore and history of ghost, this allegedly shows the first meeting back in the day (70s... That's why the feel of the song is well rooted in 70s sound) between sister imperator and Papa Nihil (The first Ghost vocalist) This is why the dude at the door says "we've been expecting you" when he recognizes Papa Nihil to the right... And this is why the video ends with "The beginning".. At the party he gets his first facepaint, and he gets the legendary white eye of the Papa bloodline. Like you said earlier.. it's hard to catch all that from a video you haven't done any prior research on, so no worries.. Just thought I'd add some more meat to the bones 🙂 Thought I'd add some Ghost recommendations to your already existing list.. It all depends where you want to go.. If you'd like to continue on their latest album, you should listen to "Kaiserion" or "Griftwood".. Heck, why not do an album review! !? It's one of the best albums I have listened to in a long long time... More into the slow ones? Check out "He is" from the "Meliora" album, the beautiful "life eternal" from the "Prequelle" album, or "Darkness at the heart of my love" from the "Impera" album. And to totally throw you off of "you think you have figured out Ghost"... Try "Twenties" from the "Impera" album to get some Metal reggaeton 😄 Keep up the good work guys!!
Yes, thank you! This band is surely an interesting one and there is no way for anyone to get everything from any one song in a first-time listen. This band requires researching the material and probably also starting from the beginning. As we go by requests and the order they come in, we unfortunately can't "start at the beginning" so it feels like we are constantly playing catch-up. I guess that is also fun in itself 😉 We added your suggestions to our already massively long list and hope to get to them all at some stage. We've discussed doing "Full Album Reactions" or covering one band for a full week, but are not yet sure whether or not it is feasible (we are not full-time UA-camrs... at least not yet). Stay tuned! Somebody messed this video up. You cant see everything. Like the walls and half of the people's bodies and more. This is supposed to be the beginning of the entire series of videos and the Papas. This is the beginning of Papa I.

First of all, it's not Transylvania, but TransyLvAnia, i.e. LA. Second, it's not a normal pop-rock song without the video, how many such songs tell about literally bewitching someone (I wanna bewitch you)? Also, the video is for the fans, showing the story of Papa Nihil.
Yes, we know it's "TransyLvAnia", as in L.A., we just went along with the story and had fun with it. The remark about the song was to do with the sound of it, not the lyrics (as in, the story of it). We were just reacting to it for the first time, so just expressing what came to mind. We love the song and we love Ghost, as you can witness by the number of reactions we've done for their work (more to come) and the admiration we've expressed towards them and their music.
