After seeing No Way Home, I hope they bring back Jon Berenthal as the Punisher in the MCU. Dude killed it as Frank Castle.

Because frank already knew he’s a pos, being married to his wife, having two kids, all that showed him that EVEN a killer like frank could have happiness and a good life, when all that was taken from him he knew he’d never get that back, so all he could do was be even more violent

Jon Bernthal as the Punisher may be the most perfect casting of all time for any sort of Superhero type character. He just IS the Punisher. That'll never change in my mind, now.

I think he recognizes that what he does, playing judge, jury and executioner to anyone and everyone he seems guilty, is wrong. I think he is very fucked up, but the court system somehow doesn't recognize that a sane man wouldn't go on and on on the witness stand about how much he loves killing.
Frank Castle is a broken man, and the world doesn't care about him.

Maybe Floyd was a rapist, but he was entitled to a fair and speedy trial. Every "scumbag" Frank put down is the same. Maybe they do deserve the end of a gun, maybe they don't. But there's a reason we should carefully select who gets the gun.

Here's the thing I think people miss about this scene: Matt implies that Frank is a hero. Somewhat of a twisted hero who needs help, but a hero nonetheless. If you know Frank, you know he HATES being called a hero. He knows what he does is horrible, but he does it anyway. He doesn't want adulation, or fame, or the key to the city. He doesn't believe in heroes, only a means to an end. Matt himself may have led Frank into his tirade by trying to portray him as the hero, unintentionally.
The Punisher is the most self aware Marvel character, and every version of him would hate to be seen as the hero.
Here's what I believe you mis(interpret) about this scene. You are So Very Close (by your reasoning), but, as to the 'unintentionally' part, somehow you divert from/disagree with your own insightfulness... case in points
1. While planning to never ask him a question, Matt begins with the request to treat his own client as a hostile witness.
2. WHO would you believe knows/understands Frank better than anyone else?
3. Doesn't Matt seem to be the LEAST FLUSTERED person in the courtroom as Frank is led past him?!?!?

Actually he only did this to go to prison because kingpin had info about Frank's family's death.
Actually, I seem to remember (it's been a wile since I watched the show so I might be wrong) that Frank wanted to go to Jail because he needed to talk to the kingpin. With that in mind I think he actually "snapped" like that intentionally because he realized that, incredibly, matt had pulled off the impossible and actually managed to have him not send to prison, and if that was the case, Frank's plan would have been ruined.
Matt: “He’s actually a good person!”
Frank: And i took that personally
He didn’t take that personally though. Punisher knows that what he is doing is good and he thinks that other people are flawed in their thinking.
If I remember correctly, he had to do it because the bad guys threatening to do something if he got a light sentence.

Matt went off on a tangent at the end of his speech and offered to let Frank stand behind Matt's philosophy they talked about on the roof. The philosophy if believed would have been a perfect shield for Frank. But as we all know, Frank doesn't need that protection. At the end of his speech, Matt is now talking about himself, not Frank.
Frank just got a bit insulted bcs Matt said he was wrong and he needs help. But in his mind he was always right, he was conscious and sane
The casting of DD, Frank and Fisk is perhaps the most perfect I’ve ever seen in a hero/villain/antihero triangle. I don’t even know which of these three men did a better job. Brought these characters to life.
I don’t know about his acting but Brian Shaw as Fisk would be incredible.
What a rare show this was. It had good courtroom drama, deep character development, spectacular writing, AND well-choreographed well-directed action scenes
This is the kind of stuff that deserved to be as big as the MCU , shame that its just going to devolve and dissolve into the conglomerate instead

@@arianm_18 The Joker was scared of the Punisher by the end of Gotham Knight in the Marvel vs DC crossover in 1994. Unlike Batman, Frank wasn’t going to tolerate Joker’s antics. He was going to put him down and the Joker was frightened. Jon Bernthal’s scene gives a clear indication what the Punisher’s personality is like in all iterations of Marvel Comics. That’s why he’s the most feared vigilante in the Marvel Universe. The Punisher was the only Marvel antihero who scared the Joker straight.
