    I've been using your "how to" on my Mk III Death Guard and love the look. I'd been mulling over the best colour for the Pteruges before starting on my Terminators and think the reddish brown complements the colour scheme beautifully.

    Man I like the grungy look of that terminator, it turned out great. In all honesty the methods would work really well to speed paint really any beat up looking power armor, especially for games like Fallout or This Is Not A Test. Just any power armor that has really been through it and badly needs a little TLC.

    Would Love to see your take on a Death Guard vehicles as the approach is usually a little different from Infantry to Vehicles, like a

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  2 роки тому +1

    This looks really amazing, definitely going to use for my HH death guard. On the finished model there are traces of the red dust of the base on his feet and lower legs. Is that drybrushing or some sort of weathering powder or something else? Cheers

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  Рік тому +1

      It's just drybrushing during basing - use a little of the remainder of your drybrush colour and stipple up the legs as you've almost got it all out of your brush when you're basing each miniature, it's really quick.

    by far the best Death Guard video I've seen so far. good work as always. I'm looking for an alternative to GW's Wraithbone. I thought of Ivory by Vallejo. what are your thoughts?

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  2 роки тому

      Ivory is pretty close, but lacks a little of that yellow touch. Pale Sand might be closer but even then that's a little darker, although not by much. I'd try Ivory over a white primer first, see how you like the look of that, and if it doesn't turn out the way you'd hoped you can try a darker version.

  • @joelshort2907
    @joelshort2907 2 роки тому +1

    I've had an eye out for nice battle-damaged white armour methods that are also relatively quick for a while because that's how I'd like to do some Chaos Warriors when I get into the Slaves to Darkness in Age of Sigmar - this looks like it'd be a great method for that! Really nice stuff. Would the battle-damage method work in reverse on dark or black armour? So using a lighter grey or even a steel colour from the foam? I've also got some Stormcast I'm doing up as Anvils and a little bit of battle-damage could really make them pop.

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  2 роки тому +1

      The main thing in the chipping is achieving visual contrast so that it stands out quite starkly against the armour. If you were doing it on black you could try dabbing on a dark brown or something first, but then sponge on some silver as well over the top of that. For Astartes it's a little different since someone's always going to sniff and say, "Actually, ceramite ought not be metallic..." but for Stormcast I'd say you're on to a winner there. 😂 For Anvils, a tiny few scratches of bright silver should look quite good.

    Hi Sonic. Great tutorial as ever. Just built space Marines from the warhammer imperium part works magazine here in the UK. Was thinking of what colours would be best. Decided on Green! This tutorial was really helpful. Thanks again. To drill or not to drill? it's a personal preference. Lol. Take care and keep safe my friend. Kind regards Ian

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  2 роки тому +1

      Honestly, when it comes to the drilling I totally agree that it looks better, but A.) it takes extra time, and B.) I'm cack-handed when it comes to doing it and can never quite get the hole in the center so it looks ridiculous. Better to just dot the sodding things with a little black paint if I'm going to be that fussy. 😂 Green's always a good choice!

    • @DarkWatch-Ian
      @DarkWatch-Ian 2 роки тому +1

Said it before, but I do feel like I have a have a friend in you when I'm painting. Thanks. Kindest regards Ian
