I recently got back into 40k and was gifted a nice bunch DG. Have always loved the grim dark style and will embark it in this style. I love how approachable you have made this.
I love the tip of using contrasts as a wash for metallic! When I paint retributor armor I go over it with guilliman flesh to change the gold hue into a bronze, nice work 👍🏼
Incredible paintwork! I've recently begun painting my Death Guard too, and I'm definitely going to attempt this paint job. Absolutely love it! Thanks a bunch!
Death Guard and Iron Warriors really are the best for standard MK III. Salamanders fit it well, too, but need some extras to make the Armor look more draconic... meanwhile DG and IW really liked to keep it plain, simple and practical.
Biggest problem is have with the current edition of the MK III armor is that its molded like the MK VI in that the chest piece isn´t separate. Lots of Heresy units had their own specialized troops with different chest pieces than the regular troops. Well as it is now... unless you are a good converter, freehand painter or have a 3D printer to print those special icons, you are out of luck... because you can´t make these special chest pieces anymore. And its a pity really because those chest pieces really helped give a unique fell to your army.
The weathering looks absolutely incredible. Would love to see your take on other factions in 40k. Sisters of battle, krieg and ad mech are some I'd love to see in your style. Cheers!
Looks like litterally jump from a cinematic movie trailer,Beautiful ! Learn recently how to fix dry pigments :mix them with Vallejo airbrush thinner,it's made a "pigment wash".
incredible.! A little trick I discovered quite by accident - if you mix acrylic paint with the dirty down (I used orange to try to lighten it) it makes a "chunky" texture in the rust. Obviously dont use a good brush for this, but give it a try.,
Very Nice, will you be doing a video similar to the loyalist one with Mk3? I know they wouldnt use it a whole lot, but a Grimdark Alpha legion would look really cool.
Question i already know you are planing a leather Grimdark toturial but what about glass both vials and other kinds of glass. Here i am thinking both Drukhari Wracks and Grotesques, but also 40k Death Guard and Emperor´s Children. How would you paint grim dark glass alongside the liquid inside of them?
@@TheFeralPainter well it’s there lol it’s a constant tone sounds like audio interference in the signal somehow but yeah if you use headphones it’s impossible to Not hear it
@@TheFeralPainter Ohhhh I meant the applicator things. I found them on Amazon and they're dirt cheap! So I'll be diving into the world of enamel washes tomorrow 🤣 Cheers!

Hope u enjoyed
Great video! Would love to see a nightlords guide next.
Coming soon!
Love it. Considering changing my scheme to this but with chipping fluid instead.
That would work amazing!
the mk3 power armor is the coolest one, especially the ones with the spike
👌🏻👌🏻
A very beautiful set up !!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Glorious work 👍🏻
Thank you kindly

Yea one coming 👌🏻👌🏻
Love the model and enjoy your art👌
Thank you so much 😀
Ooh psyched for this!
BTW you misspelled “Guard” as “Gaurd” in the title :P
Thanks hahaha I’ll change it!
It's obscenely insulting how easy you make it look😂😂Great video as always, love the weathering
Thanks 👍
Really helpful video, can you maybe tell which powder you used on the base
It was abtelong 502 industrial earth I think. I’ll check shortly x

Great idea mann! Will look into this!! Thanks again!
Love your grim dark take, can you please do an iron warrior? I’d like to see how you handle hazard stripes.
Incoming literally next video
Another banger 🤟🏼
Too kind
@@TheFeralPainter just the truth 👍🏼
Nice bro really liking these models might grab me self some. I have a idea for ur next video u can only use the wonky brush on entire model 😂😂
Hahahah I’ll give it a go! I regularly use shot brushes 😂😂😂 people would be ashamed if they saw how I paint at times haha
Hhaaa always mint videos mate I've never heard u say a chapter or army u collect or do u have a mix of diffrent models that uve painted on here
Have you ever done iron hands? I bet they would be amazing in your style!
Not yet but will. Done some iron worriers.
great tutorial! thanx.
You're welcome!
The matte varnish comment, I’m confused…like did you wash it with lahmian medium after the wash step?
Amazing looking pre-heresy era Death Guard, did you notice a constant beeping tone in the background of your audio?
Mmmm not I don’t hear it.
@@TheFeralPainter well it’s there lol it’s a constant tone sounds like audio interference in the signal somehow but yeah if you use headphones it’s impossible to Not hear it
Pure genius. Could you use streaking grime instead of the ak wash?
Absolutely
Amazing work ,any chance of a HH vehicle ?
I have some on this channel. Although its soms of horus. I could do a death gaurd one
That would be grand , I’m halfway through a box of mk3 using you’re grimdark technique,
It would be great to see the finished results on a bright white background. The final reveal on all black hides too much
Yea I’ll probs do both in the future thanks for the feedback
Is there a list of paints used?
There isn’t a list bust I mention all of them and the alternatives in the video
AMAZING
What primer would you recommend without an airbrush?
Rattle can wraithbone
What are those make up sponges called dude? I cant find em for the life of me!
Ermm I searched eyelid makeup sponge applicators on Amazon. That should work dude
what are those little sponge things called? I can't find them for the life of me lol
Just sponges. I grt mine from cheap craft stores and tear them up

I plan on going grim dark on a box of plague marines, any colour schemes you’d recommend on the mutations/skins?
Check out my plaige flesh video 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
@@TheFeralPainter oh wow wasn’t expecting a quick reply 🤣 thanks so much!! Will check it out now, I’ve subbed

Thanks man means a lot
Does Vallejo have a Palestinian Sand paint, so we can tell how well it contrasts with the Israeli Sand?
I’m not sure
They make an Iraqi Sand in the VMC range, but no Palestinian Sand unfortunately.
Stupid
They're basically the same but the media will tell you otherwise
Sadly you only need a lot of Red for both sides to match the current aesthetic 😢
im loving the scale75 metal n alchemy series, my favorite atm is the amethyst alchemy 🤤
Wonder how it would look on a space marine
Yea the coulors are great x
