Very well done. Nice to see more and more artists showing alternative methods, it's a nice departure from GW s classis painting method. Keep it up ! Death Guard and MK VI looks pretty odd to be honest, but battle damage sells it well.
I like what you have done. My only suggestion would be to fix the focus on your camera. We don't see what you are doing and it's often blurry. Also considering to give a try to The Colour Forge can. How is it better than the Citadel ones?
I prefer the coverage over citadel. Yeah good point on the camera! I'm still learning but am actually waiting on my dslr to be shipped. In the meantime it's just the phone. I'll switch the auto focus off next vid though! Thank you!
@@medheadful yes, an off white with a slight bone hue --- Grey Seer is a very light grey, and the have a new white out as well that i supposed to be good. The range you use in videos is hard to get in the states. Any further thoughts?
Hey. I'm doing a whole death guard legion with this method and it's going amazing. Thank you! Just a query about larger models (tanks and whatnot) - would you use this method the same for such models or change/use a different method?
@@geekayplays1 true, but I had a quick look at the colour forge site, it gives wight bone as an equivalent to wraithbone. Perhaps it depends upon what light wraithbone type sprays are under - the one in this video is probably under bright white studio lights of some kind.
Great looking miniature. Is there a problem using hairspray/chipping medium once you've finished during gameplay or is it 'fixed' with the lacquer at the end?
Do you find any issues brush painting over a chipping fluid? I’ve always been under the impression that the water would reactivate the stuff as you were hand brushing and mess things up.
Now Imagine it was a new MK3 marine ( Clean Death Guard Plague Marine )! How cool would that be? The beaky is so off for 90% of the legions! I could never unsee Beaky Iron Warrior....looks so wrong to me!
Beaky World Eaters gives me nightmares. MK VI work best for Ultramarines, SOH , Raven Guard and Imp.Fist. MK IV is my personnal "all legions friendly" armor, i just love it. But these New MK VI kits look Amazing
Yeah I know. As I said in the video im waiting on the dslr and just using my phone camera at the moment. I'm also learning myself. I've spent time trying to create videos that will be useful to people but of course I'm obviously not going to get it right in my very first videos. Which parts did you miss and I'm happy to explain them in more detail.
Does this process have a time limit for chipping after the white spray? Could I spray 30 marines for example and then take my time adding all the scratches? Thanks.
that's mint, so fast so good, my nan loved it
Hahah thanks dude!
There are ones just like these at Warhammer World! I gave up my search for a tutorial on them months ago, i just discovered you from a youtube short!
Epic paintjob.
Thank you!
Awesome paint job, loving the basic approach to make such an impressive effect
Thanks dude!
Fantastic job painting this guy, inspiring
I enjoyed that immensely Mr Medders! whats up next?
Thousand sons I think!
This looks awesome. Gonna give it a go 😊
Awesome work!
Thank you!
Great job! Really looking forward to the Thousand Sons
I always got to support the death guard, great paint job
Thank you!!

Would love to see a space wolves video like this! Excellent work
I’m so jealous you got your hands on them already. I’m chomping at the bit to give my Dorn an army to lead
Oh man! They are soooo nice!!!
Marvelous
Thank you!
Great stuff big man! Can’t wait to see how you rattlecanned the eyes 🤣 top content!

Sick tutorial.
Excellent video. If you were in the States, would you use Wraithbone Primer or the new GW White?
I think I'd use wraithbone. Is that an off white?

Fantastic paint job could you do a night Lord please
I can see what I can do. I'd probably do a metalic scheme if that's something that interests you!
@@medheadful yes that would be great
Really enjoyed this! Hope there are more legions in the pipe? ;)
It'll be thousand sons next!!!
thanks - just what im looking for :-D
Glad it's useful!
Would you say you could use a GW spray for the initial off white?
Of course you could, using any other off white colour shouldn't change the end result too much.
@@narrakminis was thinking Grey Seer
@@geekayplays1 really, I assumed Wraithbone would be the better match.
@@theresevoerman7109 I thought so too but that's more cream than off white

What did you use to water down the streaking grime oil? Can you just use water? Or anything specific??
I used mineral/white spirits
Thanks!
The shoulder pad is in two pieces?!
The studded one is.

It will be fixed with the lacquer
How long do you/can you wait after applying the white to chip?
I'd do it straight away. I'm about to start recording a new set of vids for death guard tomorrow!
@@medheadful cheers, I’ve done chipping with an airbrush before but I wasn’t sure if the rattlecan primer behaved differently.

You just need to let it dry completely.
No issue I've found!
Great video, I really like the colour scheme and it looks quick and easy. Well done.
It’s a shame it’s out of focus when doing the chipping.
An early video on my phone so still learning. Any positives about the video you enjoyed though?
@@medheadful sorry mate, I’ve just reread my comment, comes across as negative so I’ve edited it. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I know! Still all a learning curve and should be sorted with the new camera as I say in the video!
