I saw this at the right time! I just uploaded my first video on UA-cam in quite some time. I’ve been practicing on TikTok over the past 4 years working on content, storytelling, scripting, editing and getting comfortable filming myself. Thanks for the kick in the right direction! Cheers!
Hej! This was really good. I've filmed for four plus years and you are the first to show what the DJI pocket 3 looks like pointing out into the world. Loads of great tips. ( I still film out of o sequence and without scripts and make a complete mess of things ) tHanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing Allen. It's always interesting hearing the process and thoughts behind how others record, edit and create. I've picked up some DJI gear over the last month too. I've got an office setup for most videos but used GoPro for other videos in the past. DJI's audio system is a major game changer though. Thanks again 👍 Kevin
@KevinMuldoon I agree and the prices for a lot of the equipment has become very affordable, especially wireless microphones thanks to all the competition between all the companies.
@allenreid62 Agreed. I've had the Rode Wireless Go II since launch. Before that, I used lavs into audio recorders. I got the DJI Mic II with the Osmo Pocket 3, but bought the new DJI Mic Mini package last week too. As you rightly say, there's great competition now from other companies such as Hollyland.
@KevinMuldoon I just received my mic minis this week as well! I have the Rode pros that I really like, but I wanted something I could pair with my pocket 3 and something smaller than the dji 2 mic. Probably overkill for what I do.
@allenreid62 haha yeah I'm the same. I want good audio, but once something is good enough, I value ease of use and speed of use more. From what everyone says, the Rore Wireless Pros are still the best by a wide margin. I just love how DJI has simplified the whole process.
Been looking at this camera and now I want the little 360 one too. I have the mic and tripod already but will get the suction mount too. Great info, my channel is 3 weeks old and i have been doing it with my iPhone.
The Osmo Pocket 3 camera is a great camera, so easy to use, especially for walking around shots like I do. I don't use my Insta360 camera as much as I probably should.
Allen. Thanks for the video. It is encouraging. I have been learning over the past few months and it just stopped raining so I am about to head out and film one right now that I will post next week on clearing a tree that fell over my four wheeler trail. Thanks for the encouragement, Doing USA
I subscribed you for I have started my you tube channel a year back and trying to figure out my way how I want my videos to be .. this was a simple and lovely video .. especially I believe in what you said let it be fun and keep it simple and what I also appreciate is that you have not done heavy editing.. thank you so much for your guidance and presence 🙏🙏👍👍
This was a fun video to watch! Short, simple and to the point with tidbits o personality! I’m also using the osmo pocket 3 and it’s nice to see how other folks are using it!
Excellent video Allen. Before I purchased my equipment, I often found that some of my favorite UA-camrs never talked about what equipment they used. After much research I purchased the DJI Pocket 3. It’s an unbelievably easy camera to use. Thank you for your videos!
Amazing tips, i hear you on the sudden things that decide to jump into the footage, and noises seem to amplify only when we are trying to record content. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great video! That's a completely valid reason :) 2:45 I feel the same way. It's nice to have a separate camera for file organization. My phone does everything, so it gets cluttered, then I have to spend time sorting and searching instead of working on the project.
So far, I really like it. I think the only negatives are you have to be careful with it as the gimbal could probably be broken easily and it's not completely waterproof like a GoPro. Other than that, it's been a good purchase for me.
Great video! I use my phone and just posted my first art vlog yesterday. I was surprised how much fun I had editing because it gave me an opportunity to infuse my personality into it especially with all the bloopers I had 😂 I like how simple you make your process. My iPhone is great because I can air drop to my computer very easily and then edit from there (no photo app to worry about)
What makes this seem very high quality is not only the cutaways but also using J and L cuts for overlapping the visuals and your speech. You can't hide your professionalism even if you tried!
Ahhh...glad you noticed! I talk about that on my latest video. Someone taught me that many years ago in the 80s when we edited tape to tape. I never heard it called J and L cuts until a few years go. It really helps the video flow better, imo. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Allen. Interesting how your methos of recording and editing is. Pretty similar, although I do not always record in order. I do things in one take often, but I have multiple cameras running and I change angles by editing. That makes it more enjoyable to watch indeed. Thanks for this video, glad it got recommended to me. Have a nice day!
We use the pocket 3 now too with the old GoPro 9 as a spare for the rough or wet stuff. We also have an Insta 360 x3 and a long selfie stick to get us all in Camera. Good video again, thank you 👏👏
It's a great camera, isn't it? It's certainly not durable like a GoPro, but I don't plan on doing extreme sports or use it under water any times soon. I have the 360 X2 as well. It's a nice camera, but I don't use it as often as I probably should. Thanks for watching.
Great video. The Osmo is a nice little tool, I use every week at work. I like the car mount for inside. I have the Blade mount for outside. Gonna start using it for my wife’s videos. She has several stand ups for me to shoot. I’ve used the ND filters when I did some motion lapse at work. I love the tracking mode.
That’s a really cool camera. I’m still using my iPhone, a lav mic and a light weight tripod for my walk and talks. Still waiting to make that big UA-cam money to buy cool gear. lol.
How did you get the camera too flip from looking ahead and then instantly back to you while you continued talking? Great Informative Video - Excellent Work!!!
Thank Ken. The shots you are talking about are just edits, not flipping back and forth. I shoot those shots separately then lay them over my voice track.
Great video - the dji pocket is on my wishlist! Question - the mic on your seatbelt - it doesn't pick up movement noises? When I wear mine it sometimes makes a rustling sound.
After years of shooting with large shoulder mount cameras, I'm still adapting to smaller mirrorless cameras with my new career after 2 years. I do like the pocket 3 for it's ease of use. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Lol, loved that last part with the tractor. I feel you completely. I'll be ready to record, and along comes a truck selling vegetables using a bullhorn to tell the entire neighborhood about it. Been thinking of getting the DJI Osmo for stability and tracking. Do you know if it can be used for livestreams?
