    This review is all the things I was hoping to hear about on this gun. I have the old Accuspray gun, and I am looking for something a lot better! But I want to keep the versatility, ease of cleaning, etc. (I'm doing hobby work, and I sometimes clean and re-use all the consumables. They can last a lot longer than 3M recommends if you want to take the time.)

    My 3m rep just brought me one today, I liked it too. I'm not sure that it will replace my clear gun but for sealer and base it's great.

    I used it for about a week. Awesome gun.. did about 30 jobs with it ..Used 1.4 for (solvent)base and sealer. Used 1.3 for clear and never replaced tips. Tried the 1.2 and for clear but was too slow for my way of spraying. Hard to pick up that gun for clear when I have the motivated painters edition walcom clear gun but the gun does have its place with every painter. Awesome video Gabe

    I agree with Gabe. Very good to excellent for base and sealer but in my world view you need an RP (I prefer the Iwata WS400) for clear. Two reasons for that atomization and speed. This gun fails at both of those for clear. Speed wise it's about the same as the Iwata LPH400LV which is a great gun but is LVLP and slower than I like. The atomization however isn't as good as the LPH400LV. Where this thing will be killer is primer and in particular polyester surfacer considering the ease of cleaning. It's fine with sealer and base as well. The only issue is the clear. The reason speed matters so much with clear is that, particularly for complete resprays, you've got to get around the entire car while the clear is still wet. If the gun is too slow that's impossible.

  • @santogervais4343

    I have used the old one where the air cap clips on and it had a hard time staying on. Now after seeing this gun I would probably use it for primer and sanding surfacing

    We've had one of those for about a year now. As a demo they were looking for feedback on. And with the whole covid thing, the rep never came back for it. Lol. Its a nice gun. And the tips do last a long time. I agree 100% with you on the clear. I liked the 1.3 for base. But I didn't really care for the way it sprayed clear with any of the tips. Im used to clearing with an RP though. Personally, I went back to my satas after a week or 2. But, the other painter uses it on every job he does, and really likes it. I'd say its a good buy for a sealer/basecoat gun. Especially if the shop agrees to pay for the replacement tips. It lays out basecoat really nice with the 1.3.

    Great review Gabe, I don't have one as my compressor wouldn't keep up with the HVLP and my air fed mask but they are getting great reviews here in the UK, some are saying the same as you about laying clear they start with the 1.3 but found the 1.2 gives better atomization with a better finish, I'll share this vid on the FB groups where I'm a member.
    I've just upgraded to the 3M PPS 2.0 (which are hard to get here) but all my pot lids are the blue colour but you used a different colour pot lid for clear so what's the difference mate? John UK.

    Looks good Gabe. You can bump up the psi to 23-25 on the clear for the 1.3-1.4, i have depending on the level of orange peel i want, 1.2 I probly stay at 20psi. Btw they recommend 20 psi for all their caps. Told you it has the speed of an iwata 😂😂I hard a time at first slowing down to let the gun do its job.

      Hey Brian, I’m not sure if you have tried the new 3m gun or not, I can’t remember but I going to have to disagree with your comment about efficiency. I have been using mine for about a month now and it’s is extremely efficient on product and I’m now finding I’m having to mix less than I normally would.

    • @PaintSociety
      @PaintSociety 3 роки тому +3

      @@damageundoneltd of course. I wouldn’t comment if I hadn’t. I did a video on it 2 months ago. I would say the gun is going to have a much different feel if you’re just spraying a bumper or small panel but when using it on a whole car, it took twice as long and the comfort level is far less superior then that of let’s say a gti pro lite in the same range with tips you don’t have to continuous buy.
