Thank you 🙏 for the kind words I appreciate it Iam glad 🙂 your enjoying my videos. What’s great about the 3M PPS Gun is how convenient it is to have so many options for tips. It’s a good 👍 spray gun to have.
1/2 turn closed for clear or 1/2 turn open? What was the gauge psi? Oh, and it would be helpful to our ears if you normalized the music with the audio level... My sony headphones had to be turned up and down a bunch.
It’s not a half turn it’s a 1/4 turn. So with your spray pattern open all the way you turn it back a 1/4 turn. You can do your own test on your specific spray gun to see what works best for you but a good starting point is 1/4 turn back. I spray with a Sata 4000 and it has a very short turn radius so 1/4 turn works for me. When I used spray with a Sata 3000 the turn was a little bit more than a 1/4 turn. So do a couple of test with your spray gun and see what works.
And as far as the psi goes for base coat I spray at 20 psi and depending on the clear coat I spray between 30 and 35 psi. And Iam sorry about the music I have gotten some reports from other viewers about the same problem so I’ve been adjusting that on my most recent videos. But other than the volume is the music good in the video or would you prefer no music at all.
@@J.Lulo_ rock and or roll is better then that techno/rave type noise pollution so prevalent or sure. You know when you watch a blu-ray and the explosions rupture your ear drums but the dialogue is a whisper? That was my feedback. The primary reason I bought a 3m performance was that at the worst case of nozzle and liner I'm out about $6-7 instead of cleaning hassles to have a "new" gun after epoxy primers. Do you put the cup on a shaker directly? Waiting on the shaker ring to see if it's convenient or hype.
I’ve never used the shaker ring because we use cans to mix our paint so I use the old school shaker to mix my paint. But I definitely think that using a shaker to mix the paint properly is a good idea. The 3M pps cup system doesn’t really allow you to stir the paint properly so if you’re mixing directly into the cup a paint shaker would be great to make sure those metallics are mixed properly.
Thank you 🙏 for the kind words I appreciate it. I clean mine with a ketchup bottle full of thinner and just squeeze the thinner through the tips. I also use a brush while Iam putting thinner on the gun and the tips. The tips can last about 8 to 10 uses then they usually need to be changed , but a pack of tips brings about 5 tips per bag.
Try he needle ends up getting hung up. Also, when you put on a new nozzle and the meddle feels like it’s sticking, spray som thinner (I use sem xxx gun cleaner cause of nozzle tube) inro the small hole on the new nozzle. That softens the o-ring & allows the needle to move smoothly, I do everytime I use a new one.
This gun has so little over spray it really atomizes so good ,great video and work

Throw away the gauge, had 2 of them and they go to junk after a months use.
Thanks 🙏 for letting know I’ll look into getting a new gauge.
