I also have a 300 with the 3.5. I love how simple they are to work on. Never had a vehicle where you can change the timing belt as easy as this one. And they are pretty reliable too, I prefer the 3.5 over the newer Pentastars.
I followed everything step by step, been working like a charm. I'm in rebuilding process, and need to know what long bolt to use to get pulley back on?
Hello!! I took the stock bolt to a hardware store and found a slightly longer bolt with the same thread pitch, that worked very well. Good luck with the rest of the job bro!! 💯💯🤝
thanks for the video, I have a Magnum -05 (newly bought) and dont know when timing belt was changed, if it breaks will it ruin the whole engine for ever? I know there is some difference between brands and models
Thanks for the comment bro!! This is an interference engine, so If the belt breaks while running the valves will hit the piston and it would cause valve train and piston damage. So it def wouldn’t be good! Good luck with your vehicle ! 💯💯🤝
Heey, you wouldn’t want to rotate the crank independently from the cams. If it’s only off a bit then you can rotate the crank backwards just enough to catch the right lip of the pulley. Hopefully this helps! Lmk if you can get it!! 💯💯🤝
I got a timing belt kit from rock auto. I got the ultra-power timing belt kit I believe, but they have multiple options if you’d like to choose your brand. 💯💯🤝
You may be able to stick a big screw driver through the pulley and hold it. A bit difficult to do by yourself. Good luck with it bro! Hopefully you can get er. There’s also pulley holder wrench’s as well 💯💯
Having trouble finding a bolt to use to get the harmonic balancer back on. What kind/size bolt did you use and were you able to just thread it on or did you have to use a nut with washer to pull it back on also
I took the stock pulley bolt to a hardware store and got a bolt with the same thread pattern, but a bit longer. Once you pull it in enough you can finish pulling it in with the actual crank bolt. Good luck bro!! 💯💯🤝
Using a torque wrench doesn’t matter. As long as you can get them in tight enough that they won’t back out, and not too tight that it breaks. Good luck bro!

Thank you 😂😂 LoL it worked for me every step of the way even when I messed up the timing
Glad to hear you were successful bro!! 💯💯💯🤝

Would be nice if you lived in Sweden, then I would have hired you to change my belt 😀☺️👍🏻
I hear ya bro! Wouldn’t that be nice! 😂🤣 💯🤝
I have the same issue I can get the cams lined up but not the crank it's a tooth off similar to Yur video. So wud I rotate it over to tdc

@@colin7761so never move the cam or crank independently cam&crank have to rotate at the same time
@@colin7761rotate the crank backwards independently
what water pump and tensioner and timing belt did you use I don't want to get bad parts

When i tried to remove pulley bolt the whole belt turns, how do I prevent that?

@@colin7761 thanks, I appreciate very much. About to try it. I got that far from the video. Thanks again

I checked another video the specs for the bolt they bought, and it was
M12x1.75x150mm
Try
M12x1.75x150mm
Done
Nice bro!!! 💯💯🤝
Does the torque on some the bolts matter or js long as they’re in tight?😂

@@colin7761I appreciate that very much I got my water pump and belt today so we’ll be back up🙏 thank you!!⛓️💥💯
Not necessary to remove power steering pump.
