I finally bought the cold air intake from Blackboost!! It brings me back to the days of honda civics being moded when I see an open filter under the hood. I was never a fan of the way it looked with open filters, but for the sacrifice of making more power, I decided to install them. Stay tuned for more content to come on the Mercedes CLS63s since there is still a lot more to do before the car gets a new tune.

Just installed the Blackboost intake on my M278.. LMFAO. The car sounds NIGHT AND DAY different. I "feel" like there was a 50hp gain just by changing the intake. Perhaps it is 20hp but the car instantly feels faster with this upgrade. The sound is glorious. These are beautiful orchestral engines that Mercedes subdues so stuffy older people do not complain about their "loud cars". Once you start making changes like this the car comes alive.
Was planning on doing the same to my m278. Are you tuned?

I saw where you said you have an ECU tune. Did you have that at the time of the first installation of this intake?

Where did you get your intake pipes and rubber sleeves from ?
I'm still debating if I want this setup. With the hood closed it performs like an air box still releying on the snorkels for air. So far I'm happy with my modified air boxes. Do you feel the hp is worth it? Thanks! I'll always take more power!
How much power are you making now with upgraded turbos ?
Where did you order your inlet tubes from, mine just ripped after installing my BB intakes got a s63

Thanks for the install vid. No one else has one. But curious, the boxes just sit on top? No clips or bolts holding it down? Seems kinda weird?
Yes just sit on top! It seems a little odd but it’s designed pretty well and doesn’t move around. Definitely worth it 😎
Glad you pulled the trigger on then 👏🏽, they just sit in place the have no room to move side to side and with the hood closed it pinches them between the engine and the hood for an air tight seal.

How hard is it to wrap turbo pipes

question just like that where did you take your oil filter cap and with what did you do the other two air inlets
The oil filter cap I bought from Weistec but they also have other company’s that make them. Air inlets I made my self out of some stainless steel pipes

Had the same issues with my car too it started shaking after hard pulls, turned it off then back on and back to normal. Did you ever figure out what it was? mine was a misfire in cylinder 5. Also stage 2 tuned as well.
@Nico Robescu I haven’t figured it out yet. I know I have a misfire on cylinder 5 so sounds like the same issue. How did you resolve it?
@@andreyd.6801 I haven’t yet. It only happens when i go at high speeds or when i fully send it. I’m going to change the spark plugs and coil packs soon to see if that will help. If not then it’s most likely the tune itself.
@@nicorobescu4914 could be high pressure fuel pump. Spark plugs and coils are also a good idea to replace. Should be replaced on these engines ab every 30k miles. Had same issue with mine but my timing chain was also stretched since I had old style chains.

Know what's crazy I literally hopped on the road and gunned it to jusy like u said and I kinda started to do the misfire thing like u said sir was kinda jerking a lil when I was accelerating then after 30 secs of driving it went away hella scary😳 please don't scare me like that again💩💩😂😂
Can you tell ne what you are used for the intake pipe? I mean the metal ones and the silicon hoses?
I used stainless steel for pipes and ordered some silicone boots

@Joseph Chedyak I bought the rubber boots and stainless steel pipes from aceraceparts.com you will have to cut pipes to fitment but I always like making something myself rather then buying

How much the black boost intake
They are $1,399 and that’s cheap compare to the other company’s that have intake systems for m157
Total heat soak set up. And expensive, doesn't improve 0-60, 0-100. Only 60-130 might improve and drop a few tenths.
These make 550 hp/531 tq of the old P30 performance pack of 2012-13' not the merc advertised 577 hp/590 tq. Mercedes just pushed a little false advertising to justify the awd and S badge price increasees. Dynos and acceleration numbers bare this out. The newer 4.0TT is advertised at 603 hp/627 tq. Well its still over rated a bit, its closer to 590 hp/610 tq and at least its 140+ lbs lighter and performance figures proce the numbers are more in line Thing is you can go buy a stock 523 hp BMW M550xi that will pretty much equal the AMG E63S in all acceleration contests except the 1/4. That M550ix is actually closer to 560 hp. Bmw actually under rates their vehicles.
