Quarantining for the first time using a plastic tote. Going forward through, I’m going to get a small (20L) glass tank just so I can view the fish better. Super helpful video. Thank you
Literally going through this right now. I'm using recycled bulk plastic pretzel jars that are about 5 gallons. Still fairly easy to dose meds, divide 10 gallon dose in half. I don't use filters or airstones or heaters because it's not functional or convenient on my kitchen table. My house is fairly warm, so temps aren't an issue. I dose Fritz Complete and Seachem Stability daily. I've got a batch of Platies that are healthy and a separate batch that are sick. Treating the sick ones with Ich X and Erythromycin. All quarantines get salt. Very glad I'm quarantining, for sure.
Thank you so much! I. Plan to follow your method. I have a planted 40 gallon breeder that I hope to fill with nano fish (ember tetras, Cory habrosus, chili rasboras and honey gouramis). I want to do it in a few phases so I don’t throw off my cycle by adding too many fish at once. I don’t plan on sterilization between groups. Any major concerns with this?
What about clean / disinfecting the tank with 70% alcoholic and sunlight. It evaporated and leaves no residue that I am aware of. I do it on a glass aquarium and let air out for 48 hours, which is probably over kill. In sunlight for 8 hours.

Do you have a standard time for how long you leave filter media out in the sun to dry and disinfect?
Hi Michael!! Good info!!
When's your next video?
Are you done makin vids bro? If so I will happily take over the Bay Area aquatics name.
Where’d he go
Michael are you ok ?
Wouldn’t a UV light placed in an empty rinsed out tank be a good way to kill anything that might be lurking in the tank?
Why did you stop posting?
