      I’ve done a fishless cycle for a 20H that is almost complete. I plan to follow your quarantine trio in a separate bare bottom tank. My question is this quarantine tank will not be cycled and it’s not something I can leave set up all the time. is using a sponge filter from another tank enough to provide beneficial bacteria in this one week short term without losing fish? I’m needing toga every my Q tank set up only for the quarantine period. Is this feasible?

    • @rudywatkins1312
      @rudywatkins1312 3 роки тому +5

      @ Kyle Vick. You always leave the filter running, but you ALWAYS take out carbon or chemipure or similar product from filter because it will REMOVE the medication from the water. After treatment do water change like Cory said & replace new carbon to pull rest of med out of water. 🙂

    Thanks so much! Just getting back into fishkeeping and by far things have changed so much from 30 years ago. I have found you very informative; and can tell you love this hobby. You have the rare talent to teach and to put things in layman’s terms. I appreciate all the hard work you do to keep this hobby moving forward. I hope to show how rewarding this is to my grandson. I’ve just ordered the “trio”.

    Y’all’s videos have been so helpful! Hobby aquarium keeper (freshwater 29 gallon) here with a thriving tank of mollies, shrimp, tetras, plecos, and even a frog that lasted 2+ years and a move. Over the last couple months I’ve lost everything but my 2 plecos and some live plants, so I decided to get serious. These videos have helped so much, set up two 10 gallon quarantine tanks (1 for fish, 1 for plants) today and I’m on my way to rebuilding my main tank to what it once was! Thank you for all your insight, you have an awesome team 🎉

    I am in the process of restocking my 20 gal aquarium after months of first having problems, working to normalize it, and finding the right fish. I don’t have room anywhere for an isolation tank, but will use the other method you suggest. I am a 73 year old woman south of you down in Kent. Have always had a love for aquariums but had a hard time and got nothing but bad info before the internet arrived some years back. Have done better since then, but your videos are by far the very best. Really appreciate you, Cory!

      Sucks. I know. It is a very demanding hobby, so if you're not someone who can basically be endlessly entertained by just sitting and watching a healthy tank, then it may not be for you. I would argue that understanding all the moving parts, the complicated variables, and things that need to be balanced is part of the fun. The responsibility that is required for someone to keep what is basically a water box of nature in their home can be really rewarding in and of itself. Still, there's no getting around the cost aspect. Fish keeping can get expensive really easily, and start up costs alone are high. But the more you invest early on, the less you may have to later. I'm relatively new to the hobby too. I can totally relate to your sentiment. Good luck!

    Thank you so much for making this video! I bought your med trio a month ago and I kept on watching your original video because I dosed my fish as a “preventative” measure even though they had “active” diseases. The disease (body fungus) didn’t go away after two days and I was so confused on what to do, since I thought everything would be better after dosing all three at once! But thankfully I re-dosed again and they did get better after that 😅 Anyway great product and would 10/10 buy again!

    For the QZ aquarium, what i do is have a large, 30liter food safe plastic tub that if i need to isolate new fish or treat a fish separately from the main tank I can fill it up and add one of the sponge filters from one of the main tanks and a spare heater i have on hand and that way i can isolate fish without having the work of maintaining a whole other tank (the bb would need s supply of food) that I might only use a couple times a year.

    We need to adjust this some because in the last few years Ive seen the majority of people find their fish have camallanus red worms. We need an off the shelf med for that in your trio because the meds that kill those also kill other parasites making the general cure ineffective against what most people are actually dealing with.

    Another great video, cheers fella. I have a question, totally off topic. Are all sponge filters black? I'd love a coloured one.

    I set up 10 gal quarantine tank for my new fish, I applied the trio. My fish had white stringy poop so I’m assuming they are passing the worms. My questions are, do I need to follow up after the week and do I need to vac the dead worms out immediately? You said no water change until day seven but I’m on day three and I think I have dead worms at the bottom of my tank. Thank You for all the information you provide, as a new fish keeper you are helping me so much. I hope you answer to help me and my fish.

    Thank you so much for the information! I will get these items soon. My question is, I'm not completely sure how long I have to wait until I can I can remove my new store-bought fish from quarantine. Is it after 7 days if I do all the meds at once?

    No backdrop features, did you get rid of them or film this prior? Thanks for the constant flow of information Cory.

      This was filmed prior. I film videos in batches and try to put them in an order that can keep different types of. Keepers engaged with the channel.

    Very good video! Quick question, when u quarantine a fish from the tank (of course youre dosing in the quarantine tank)… but, do you still dose the show tank itself, as well?

    Just started the 7 day quarantine med trio. 20g long, 2 packs of Fritz ParaCleanse, 2 packs of Fritz Maracyn and 10ml of Ich-X. Thank you for the great info!

      How’d it go?!

      @theatregreen 2 роки тому

      @@KeepingItFishy it worked fine, no problems. But with tanks I’ve set up after I didn’t do anything other than quarantine and that has worked fine too. I still keep fresh meds on hand in the event of illness.

    Back to the hobby and he is telling you right. These are time tested remedy's I was using years ago. If you never had a sick fish you are very lucky.

    Great stuff, I have all of these on hand due to watching your videos. My tanks all seem healthy but I intend to deworm them all coming up soon, and get a new quarantine tank. Do you know if all these meds are also safe for African dwarf frogs?

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  4 роки тому

      I haven’t had problems with the frogs, but also don’t intentionally treat them so my experience is probably limited to 10 times or less treating them with the trio.

    Great combinations! Love the video. I will buy a set. I have a question. After dosing all 3 meds, I wait 7days and do a water 30-50% water change. Do I redose 30-50% again for the newly fresh water and then wait another 7days, water change and redose ? And do I continue if I quarantine for 3-4 weeks. Or just dose 1 time and watch them for a few weeks?

    Makes me wish I could order fish straight from Cory bc I know all the fish are truly took care of...I understand how hes trying to help everyone but damn his fish have to be the best cared for out of everyone on here.... this guy knows his fish as a newbie this has been my go to channel I really wish the information this man has was available at every fish store bc I've lost fish to various things including the most beginner level of the nitrogen cycle that could have been prevented if the stores had someone that cared as this man does but since I've been watching and learning from Cory I have the tank I've dreamed of and on my way to a tank I never even thought I would have
