For anyone over clocking a RX 5700 using the More Power Mod by Igor's lab, don't use Radeon Wattman to OC the GPU, no matter what voltage/core clock you give, the GPU will keep on crashing, for my case, the limit was 1900mhz at 1047mV.
Use MSI Afterburner to OC the GPU, right now my RX 5700 reference is running at 2000mhz at 1135mV+ 50% power limit, all stable, in Igor's MPT mod change the "Power Limit GPU" under the "Power and Voltage" tab from 150W to 180W for better stability, also don't forget to change "Maximum Power Limit" to 50 under "Overdrive Limits" tab to unlock the power limit slider in OC softwares .
Played Witcher 3 heavily modded for 2 hrs straight and then R6 Siege for 3 hrs, no crash. Also played Control for 1.5 hr, no crash recorded till now.

now you only need to put a 5700XT bios on the card :-) there is a power limit on the 5700

you surely need both, powertable is only power, vbios is frequency dependancy

I`ve got a Vega 56 with a Bios from the Vega 64 on it for over a year now without any problems.
You got to do the same with the RX 5700 and put the bios from the XT on it.
It removes any limits on the card. The same as the Vega cards.

No you can try a bios flash and use the xt bios. I already did it to mine works good but takes a lot more power to run. And without the water block probably would over heat and throttle.
Watercooling is for silence and aesthetics. When you have enough radiator surface area (with low RPM optimized rads like the Hardware Labs Black Ice SR-2 / Nemesis GTS), you can run your fans at around 800 RPM or less even under load, so you shouldn't hear anything if you properly decouple the punp from the case and set your punp to the highest speed you cannot hear it.
It also just looks really bad ass in a case like the Lian Li O11 XL.
It's not really worth the cost just for the potential extra performance if noise is not a concern.

Just a question. Wouldn't it be useless and obsolete to water-cool a 5700? Isn't the whole reason for a 5700 to exist is the sell the same chip that didn't quite made it to 5700xt silicon?

i got a radeon 7 and shoved a 240mm aio on it and my max oc went from 1950 to 2200 it helps the card hit 60fps 4k in some games where before it was stuck at 50-55

Should have shown memory temperature too. The gpu could be only 50 oC but the memory temp can be 100 oC

This is just for those that really enjoy overclocking. I think AMD wise it's more fun to have an 2700X and a Vega 64. And yes I have those ( both bought new, 2700X for the normal retail price and the Vega 64 for cheap). Also know the new generations are faster. Just saying if you love overclocking and/or you're going for value for money it's probably the better choice (or well that generation, could be a 2600 with a Vega 56 too or any combination) since you can actually overclock them really well....

Flash the bios on the card and install the bios from a 5700xt and you should get better performance.

Try OC on the ram. It makes a much bigger difference than a core OC. You might be able to see 940mhz if you’re lucky... :)

This is why im dubious when people say they are getting 5700XT performance out of a 5700. They must just mean stock. Especially since you can UV/OC or just increase power limit on a 5700XT and get quite a large jump in performance.
The 5700 XT is already maxed out. It's new tech with limitations just like the R9 Fury cards, AMD new gpu tech very limited to none on oc. Wait for RNDA 2.

Good info, but I was referring to the gpu core clock being already maxed or limited by AMD for safety reasons. Same with the memory clock speed (25-50 MHz is not an overclock). This is there first product featuring this new technology and they had some limitations. Which is why it is called "RDNA Hybrid". That is why I said to wait for RDNA 2 (the real/Full RDNA architecture).

So, by UK pricing, that's a £320 card with a £135 waterblock and probably £15-20 worth of fittings... so about £475 total. That could get you the very highest end air cooled 5700XT (Strix etc) or almost a 2070 Super FE (£489 at the moment) instead. I'm going to guess the answer is "no, it's not worth it".

to me THIS is water cooling not pxxxy AIOs they are a joke gimmik & high end air is actually better than AIO but CUSTOM ooooooo custom loops so nice even the crappys little custom setup would blow the best AIO out of the 'water'. Even if this system isnt thermal limited with custom loop your card will last forever & you will NEVER throttle & thats would any kinda highend cooling is all about NOT THROTTLING not about overclocking anybody who has ever crashed do to GPU temps knows what i mean
