Thank you so much for all the kind comments and to everyone who popped over to the shop to buy their own Thread Box. I know you won't be disappointed! I am loving using these colours. Hello Kate. I live in Redcliffe Queensland Australia and have recently discovered you. Recently retired, I have commenced a scrappy quilt and you keep me company while I sew. Thank you for your relaxing way of presenting your videos. I love Agnes's quilt and this one that I watched today.
Kate, I just found you today. And I absolutely love you and your channel! I immediately subscribed. When I was a young girl my dad died quite suddenly and it was very hard for me. We had the sweetest neighbor down the road and the next day, she came to visit us, brought amazing chicken and noodles and goodies. And then she wrapped me up in the biggest, longest, most loving hug I've ever had in my life. That lost girl felt so loved at that moment and not so scared. I would go visit her after that and she would share her little projects with me. You remind me so much of her. I'm here, and I feel Eleanor's hugs all over again!! ❣
Hi Kate, I watch you regularly but have never commented. Today I just had to say something. Thank you for sharing about hand quilting. I am a quilter and have always hand quilted. I am glad there are long arm quilters for those who are unable to physically quilt but it has become the norm nowadays. It makes quilting too expensive to do for some. It also has become the norm to try and get as many quilts done as possible. I love the therapeutic aspect to hand quilting...falling into a rhythm and being in that moment. I love the process of lovingly adding depth to my fabrics and bringing life to my quilt. I love being able to weave love into each and every stitch.
I love crafting and dabble in lots. I like quilting but I don't think I will ever make many in my lifetime. I'm glad to see someone hand quilt because quilting on a domestic machine is really off-putting for me except for cushions and smaller pieces. I'm delighted someone has shown me that I don't need a big tapestry set up to quilt by hand. Sometimes I think we crafters are more addicted to the gadgets than the crafts themselves, me included, but I'm promising myself to change my ways.
I watch a lot of You Tubers and many of them do plugs for their sponsors. This was the most natural "ad" I have ever heard/seen. So typical of the LHH. The quilt is delightful!

Good day Kate. I have my Thread Box. Love it. Using in my hand stitching. This is July 2024. I know I am behind date wise. But I am trying to get caught up with you. Thank you showing the hand stitch. Have a great day. Love the channel. At 73 all this is new to me. My children wanted me to learn some new things. UA-cam is one of them.
I could spend all day just watching you hand quilt Kate, with a cup of tea and the beautiful background music. But then, I wouldn’t get anything else done! Lovely time with you. Thank you.

put a piece or two of dry rice in your clover chalk marker. I can tell it looks too moist inside. Or you can open a stay dry packet and use a few dessicant pieces to put into your chalk wheeled marker. I am your same age and started my You Tube channel 5 years ago, myself. Lovely to see you today Kate, missed you last week. The quilt is so pretty and colourful. Really like the materials. I have the chalk marker you have they are good aren’t they. I love your quilt box. Your garden looks very nice. Pleased you have some help again in your garden. Hope Anna’s quilt is coming along nicely. I cancelled my patreon subscription a while ago , when we were changing banks, due to bank closure. I must re set it up again. Good evening Kate, Oh what a wonderful thing to happen to you from Aurifil, i bet you were fair surprised at them wanting to make up a Last Homely House set of threads. I'm one of your weird followers that gets mesmerised by your gentle and calming voice, it is soft and easy on the ears (please, i don't mean to be rude and it isn't meant to be). I think i am more in your Mum's type of quilting with her more calming but i do enjoy coming to the lime green couch to see what marvels you are doing this week. I also love when John comes and shows what he has been making or whitling away at with his wood. When can we expect to see how Anna is getting on with her bonnie material? Isn't it so nice to get other people involved, especially when they are newbies to the various crafts, it must be infectious. See you back again soon. From Norah, Scotland
Hello Kate. I never could have imagined changing my hand quilting preferences of 40 years, but you convinced me to try the Aurifil 12. I've always loved tiny white stitches, so it was a great leap. Well! I've so enjoyed working with a heavier weight quilting thread and a larger needle, that I cannot imagine going back now. You really have taught an old dog new tricks, and I love it. It's the difference between sailing and rowing. Many, many thanks!
Oh, Kate-what fantastic news about your collaboration with Aurifil!! You are a most amazing woman. I know that you will see all of those little baby trees that you and John are planting grow to become a magnificent grove at The Last Homely House, if not during your lifetime here, but from your eventual heavenly home🥰 Sending you much love from Placitas, New Mexico😘
Another Aurifil fan here! I discovered it some years ago - when travelling - and never looked back. It's Italian made, and I live in rural central Italy, and I cannot find it anywhere around me! So I always order from an Italian shop online. It really is the king of threads, I use light gray 50wgt for piecing, like you. I have been quilting with the 40wgt - and I love quilting with the multi-coloured one. I'll definitely have to try out the 12 wgt, as I like to hand quilt as well. I fell in love with Agnes' quilt - I think I'll try some slow hexies project next, with an hydrangea picture from my husband as a lead. You're a real inspiration...
Kate, I have never seen anyone hand quilt this way and I am anxious to try your method. I quite enjoyed hand quilting but my fingers cramp so I stopped. Thanks for sharing your method.
You need a refill for the white clover marker. 😊 do test the removal of the Bohr chalks. Some may be very difficult to remove. Just love the seed packet quilt and the quilt for your grand daughter 😊😊
Good evening Kate~~~ I popped over to UA-cam to see if there was anything new and there you were. What a delight. I love visiting with you. It's like visiting with a cherished friend. So comforting. Good for you having a thread collection with your name on it. I went over to Epidemic Sound to listen to that song again. Wonderful. Have a blessed rest of the week and I'll look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
Oh Kate love to see your coiled boil. Perfect use for the vessel one of many. I make bowls and hotpads for @texturescraftworks in Hamilton Ontario Canada. We are a Artisan run shop with 45 members each taking turns to look after the store. This year will be 40 years this successful store has been around thanks to passionate members. 🇨🇦
Thanks Kate. This catch up was just what I needed today. Things have been getting on top of me last few days, but sitting here, with a cup of peppermint tea, listening to you, and watching you quilt away is just the tonic I need. Bless you. X
I love the quilt beautiful I love the colors I love flowers thank you for sharing I love it so lots of love and hugs to you and your family and happy happy sewing🪡🧵✂️💜🙏🤠
Hi Kate! I have to play catchup on your vlogs as I am still working at 67yo and have no plans to retire as yet. Love your vlogs and so enjoyed this one. I ordered the Aurifil threadbare on 5th March...Despatched yesterday and just this minute my jolly postie delivered it to me ☺️love the colours and can't wait to use them. Thank card is a sweet touch too so thank you!! 😊 Hope you are not snowed in... none here in Manchester as yet fingers crossed 🤞 have a great day and keep on vlogging 🤣 Jan xx
Well, congratulations on the Aurifil collaboration! I recognized Agnes' quilt right away. How appropriate. Slow stitching and garden helpers. What a wonderful time. I am ready to be warm again. Happy stitching, Kate. Happy week to you too, Anna.
I'm a sucker for cute packaging 😍 well designed Rita, and Congratulations Kate on the Aurifil collab. I love the pace and mindfulness of hand quilting. Every stitch is vital to the whole piece, regardless of when it's done. Just like your planting trees, the results will come, and they'll be admired for years to come.
A trick for marking quilts, that I learned from my cousin, is to use a left over sliver of bath soap. It makes a great fine line and washes out without a trace of soap left, And it is cheap!
You are my Sunday morning coffee! It isn't a day until I have visited with you on the Lime Green Sofa. I love the Aurifil box of Threads. That will be my next purchase. It will be so pretty to use in my grandson's crumble fabric alphabet letters I am making for him to practice his alphabet with. That has been a fun project so far. Midweek next week I am again reassembling my sewing room. I found an offer I couldn't refuse for a new sewing machine table. It has the insert for my machine and they send a custom made plate to fit around the machine. I also was able to chose a chair to go with it. Of course, I chose purple as that is my favorite color. The chair has storage underneath. Bonus! AND to top it off there is a extra cabinet that folds out to hole an ironing station and cutting station. I can't wait for it to arrive, and I could wait as well, it means making a big mess in my sewing room and assembling all the new furniture. Oh well, I love a good puzzle!
You sees packet quilt is lovely Kate! I am a huge fan of Aurifil thread too. I hand quilted a hand pieced quilt this past fall with an array of beautiful Aurifil 12 weight threads. Cheers to you & your family Kate. ❤
So I thought you’d enjoy this. An arborist was asked when the best time was to plant a tree, and they replied, “Twenty years ago.” At the stricken look on the face of the one who asked, he added, “..and the second best time to plant a tree is right now.” 🌱❤️🌱
This Quilt is almost my favorit!!! 🎉🎉🎉I love flowerprints ,I love flowers,I love the back of this Quilt❤❤❤ Nevertheless : there is not really a single peace of work that I DON'T like!Wonderful work🙏🏻
Just ordered 2 boxes from you...absolutely will love them. I have been quilting for many years...learned from the church ladies at the sewing bee and my Mother. I am old fashion and I use bees wax..after I apply the wax I run my thumb nail over the thread after, did takes off the extra wax...Happy Quilting Kate!
Congratulations on your first Aurafil collaboration!!! What a wonderful, well deserved partnership. Thank you Girl Rita!. Kate, enjoy stitching with your bright colors in the waning of winter. I'm using bright scraps to make a baby quilt with St. Louis 16 patches. Tomorrow I will mark it for big stitch quilting. I have learned that using 505 basting spray on small projects doesn't affect the ability to draw the thread through all the layers. Happy quilting!
What a beautiful quilt and many congratulations for your partnership with Aurifil. Good to see you again. We were getting a bit fidgety on the lime green sofa waiting for you.
Kate..😆xoxo I have been thinking of you all weekend and here you are with your beautiful quilt. 😍 thanks for the best time ever and yah know how much I love yah ❤️ be well and peace and happiness to everyone everywhere 😊
I really enjoy watching your videos, just about to watch your Jaipur, India trip. To continue my previous message, we have a gentleman travelling with us this time, looking forward to meeting everyone on our trip, not long to wait now, getting excited!!

We are going to Nepal next October with a group of like minded ladies, occasionally gentlemen, there will be onecaccompan
I stumbled across your site by accident. I am going to hang around for awhile I think. I have really enjoyed your sharing. You aren't rushing the process from what I have noticed. You don't get short of breath racing through the video. It's nice. It is like sitting there at your work area enjoying your next adventure. Thank you for sharing.
Kate, congratulations on the partnership, the box is definitely a fab-u-lous purchase and the design created by Rita is such a lovely idea ! Take care x
I just wanna tell you how much I enjoy your videos again. I just love that big flower thing you have you’re making I just think that’s the prettiest quilt. I seen in a long time I ever see any fabric like that. I think I would be tempted to buy it and make a simple quilt like you did because it’s so beautiful. It would look nice sitting in my living room or some room. It’s just gorgeous. And that little box to I like your little box. Unfortunately I have to have my friend show me how to buy something like that. I don’t know how to do the computer or anythingI just find people I like if they pop up then I will watch them. I just have a hard time learning how to do computer or UA-cam or anything. You might call me a dinosaur but I sure enjoy watching your shows. Thank you for sharing.
Congrats on the Aurifil collaboration. That quilt is sunshine on a cloudy day, with the promise of spring! I love it so much. I’m not a quilter - yet - but my knitting gives me that same peaceful feeling that you describe with your hand-quilting. I hope you had a beautiful day with a great audiobook. ❤
What a gorgeous quilt!! I absolutely love all the beautiful colors and flowers. It is so enjoyable to watch you quilt and listen to the beautiful music. Thank you for sharing……………….😊
I love watching your videos. It is amazing to me how fast your quilting goes. I am doing some hand quilting on an EPP quilt but it’s slow going and I think part of my problem is my batting. Oh well, we learn as we go! Thank you for sharing with us!!
Been following for a few months now and learning to navigate around. Kate, I have so many interests and hobbies and you make me feel like I’m okay to be all over the place with several or many projects going at the same time. I do finish a lot of them. I live alone in a Barnhouse I built and your videos keep me company while I’m doing projects here at home in Washington State. Thank you for being you!
Hello, Kate! So nice to be able to join you today! Your videos never fail to brighten even the dreariest of days! Congratulations on your collaboration with Aurafil. Good on you! I recently purchased the Bohin chalk set as well! It is sure to keep me going for some time. And, yes, I do still have a set of tailor’s chalk in the same colours. I used to only hand-quilt all 9f my quilts. My first queen quIlt was a double Irish Chain that I quilted 1/4” on either side of the seams. At that time, I pinned sections of the quilt between my knees when quilting. I recently purchased a Baby Lock Sashiko machine for my quilting-inspired by your stitching on your denim jacket, Thanks! Thank you, also, for generously sharing your creativity, talent, and time with us! Stay well, Kate! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
Hello Kate, I have recently found your channel and what a joy each entry is ,I have loved my excursions into quilting since COVID our group has not reconvened and I do miss it, You have re lit my enthusiasm and I've hauled out a couple of orphan projects , Thankyou for such generous tips and lessons slow stitching really is very therapeutic and looks so lovely. Thankyou again
Hello Kate, So happy to have found your channel. I became so interested in embroidery, slow stitching and quilting. I wasn’t sure about the different aurifil threads and what thread worked best for each project and your thread box with 12wt and 50wt is exactly what I was looking for. I just ordered your thread box a few minutes ago! Can’t wait to receive it! Thanks so much, Kristyn ❤

This quilt is so bright and happy. I haven't had a chance to make something this beautiful. I really love the time I spend with you especially when I am sewing late at night or early in the morning. Thank you for being there when I need company late at night or early in the morning.
Oh Kate, your Seed Packet quilt is beautiful, and it will give many hours of happy hand quilting! I love the Aurifil Thread Box, what a wonderful idea. Thank you for all of the inspiration!🤗💖
Kate. I love that flower quilt that your hand stitching is that a line of fabric maybe like 5 inch squares. I would love to do the flower quilt. I’m a gardener and I love flowers and that would brighten up the house when nothing is blooming outside.
Love your videos! The plastic 'bread clips' (to secure the bread bag) work well to score the quilt for quilting. Really inexpensive, too. lol I love the new Aurafil thread box.
This is a lovely quilt, Kate! Thank you for sharing the making of it with us! The snowdrops are so beautiful - they are my favourite flower, because they are the firsts ones to blossom and signal that Spring is just around the corner. Have a wonderful week, sending hugs from Southern Ontario, Canada
Just watched and decided to buy the thread box. I really enjoy watching your videos and this is the way I am able to support you and all that you share.
Kate, I love your hand sewing on the table; I've tried to do that; however, I, for some reason, like to have the quilt on a frame and have my left hand under it!!
Lovely and relaxing as usual thank you. I have ordered my thread and look forward to using them. I have always used my machine to quilt, but l'm going to try hand quilting my latest make! With your lovely threads. 😍
So nice to see you again, Kate! I've been sorting out fabric, ribbon and lace all day, and there's no more perfect way to end the day and the week than with you and all of us at the lime green sofa - me with my crochet and a cup op tea. Have a nice week, Kate and thank you!
Hi Kate, With all the Royal Mail sagas happening I'm a delighted to say the Aurifil thread box has made it to my post box in Australia today. The colours are brilliant, vibrant and of colours I would use a lot. I will same them for a special project. The seed packet quilt video is another which I have watched several times. The quilt is just beautiful Thankyou for sharing and having the threads available in your shop...😀😎
Dear Kate and Anna, I love your videos. I have picked up my grandmother's flower garden quilt and have been add to it using your method of English paper piecing. (I was doing the quilt without the papers and sewing a quarter inch seam my first time Now I am using the English paper piecing and I love it!! I am moving even faster with the quilt (King size) I have been taking everywhere. Thank you so much for all of your videos, even my husband enjoys them. Keep them coming you both are a treasure. P.S. I order you lovely box of thread. I can't wait till the packages comes in the mail.
How exciting to have the partnership with Aurifil! I have the Seed Packet kit from Kaffe and Brandon’s visit to North Carolina last fall, so I’ll definitely go and order your thread kit!
Kate I am so thrilled with your partnering with Aurifil! Had never used it until I started watching you, although I have heard of it from others it is you I trusted most to try it. Have purchased your box and am very excited to receive it. Have a wonderful week. Take Care, Michelle
Just think Agnes will remember you every time she sees the trees and , of course, her quilt. What a wonderful thing to be able to do! I've got an acorn growing that was picked up on one of our first walks with my grandson, he's now 3 and the ;tree' is about 8 inches tall! Not sure yet where to put it permanently!
When you speak to the camera, it feels like you are speaking directly to me! If I ever get the chance to meet you, (my long lost friend) I would hug the stuffing out of you, and ask for a cuppa
I miss seeing ''every" Sunday Kate? So happy to know all is well with You. Hello from Lake Okoboji, IA. Love this quilt as I'm pretty * plain jane * but love the colors. Please take good care! kj
Oh how I’ve missed you, Kate! I think you’re such an inspiring ray of sunshine on these grey, wintry Upper Peninsula days!! You look amazing, too, great hair cut and your skin looks so fresh, dewy. It cracks me up when you talk about inches, because I’ve wished for years, in vain, that the US would convert to the metric system, but it’ll never happen. Also, your seed packet quilt is so beautiful! Kaffe fabrics are simply amazing! I’m going to pop on over to your shop and check out the threads. So glad to see you again, and hello to everyone on the lime green sofa!

I fell in love with Agnes' quilt - I think I'll try some slow hexies project next, with an hydrangea picture from my husband as a lead. You're a real inspiration...
I could watch Kate stitch for hours. I may slow the video down to make it last longer, lol! Beautiful colours in the quilt and threads x
Oh Kate!!! Aurufil sees your magnificence! I just cried with joy for you!
Good evening Kate~~~
I popped over to UA-cam to see if there was anything new and there you were.
Bless you. X
Love UR quilt!,!!!
So pretty,,,,,
Love the colors,,,

I have missed your videos. Thank you for the conversation and updates as well as hand quilting. Thank you.. we missed you on the line green couch
Watching you work on this gorgeous quilt and seeing your garden blooms is wonderful to me on this snowy day in BC, Canada. TFS
It's always so nice to spend a little time on Sunday afternoon with you.
🎉🎉🎉I love flowerprints ,I love flowers,I love the back of this Quilt❤❤❤
Nevertheless : there is not really a single peace of work that I DON'T like!Wonderful work🙏🏻
Just ordered 2 boxes from you...absolutely will love them.
Kate I love that quilt. What a pleasure to watch you hand quilt. Thanks for being here and sharing your life with me.
Love your new hair cut. And congratulations with Aurifil thread.
I really enjoy watching your videos, just about to watch your Jaipur, India trip. To continue my previous message, we have a gentleman travelling with us this time, looking forward to meeting everyone on our trip, not long to wait now, getting excited!!
I just love your beautiful quilt, Ms. Kate! Such a beautiful flower garden.
Hi Kate,my friend Sheila and I have been to India quite a few times, Jaipur, West Bengal, Nagaland, Gujarat, to name a few, we are due to go to Himachal Pradesh, Shimla next month, we really do enjoy the lovely people there and the different crafts of the areas, we are both embroiderers and stitchers and we get various ideas and techniques to teach to our local embroidery groups, we have a great time. We are going to Nepal next October with a group of like minded ladies, occasionally gentlemen, there will be onecaccompan
Love the sewing thread, Congratulations Kate,
I stumbled across your site by accident.
Take care x
Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful
My grandmother had a quilting frame to do the stitching. Her small stitches were so perfect. I know she loved making quilts for all of us!

Hello Kate,
So happy to have found your channel.
Thanks so much,
Kristyn ❤
Hi Kate. Absolutely love this quilt. Your backing fabric is equally Gorgeous. Love the Aurifil threads. Thank you Kate.😊🪡🧵
Delightful. The threads are a treasure too. Thank you 😊
Such a Lovely Quilt. I have a Lot of Kaffe Fassett Fabric collected over the years. I think I will use your Seed Packet Idea for Piecing and for Quilting. thanks for Sharing. 💜💜💜 AuntieEllen
I was reminded of this quote: “Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.
Anonymous Greek Proverb
What an honor to pair up with Aurifil Threads. I love big stitch quilting, so relaxing and I love the drape it gives the quilt. Take care Kate.

Really inexpensive, too. lol
I love the new Aurafil thread box.
Hi Kate,
With all the Royal Mail sagas happening I'm a delighted to say the Aurifil thread box has made it to my post box in Australia today.
The colours are brilliant, vibrant and of colours I would use a lot.
I will same them for a special project.
The seed packet quilt video is another which I have watched several times.
The quilt is just beautiful
Thankyou for sharing and having the threads available in your shop...😀😎
Dear Kate and Anna, I love your videos. I have picked up my grandmother's flower garden quilt and have been add to it using your method of English paper piecing. (I was doing the quilt without the papers and sewing a quarter inch seam my first time Now I am using the English paper piecing and I love it!! I am moving even faster with the quilt (King size) I have been taking everywhere. Thank you so much for all of your videos, even my husband enjoys them. Keep them coming you both are a treasure. P.S. I order you lovely box of thread. I can't wait till the packages comes in the mail.
Hello Kate and everyone on the LGS….really enjoyed todays video…the fabric you are quilting is just beautiful…. Take care..Hugs Dottie xx
Beautiful quilt and very calming to watch. I love your scenery too. I am enjoying your channel.
How exciting to have the partnership with Aurifil! I have the Seed Packet kit from Kaffe and Brandon’s visit to North Carolina last fall, so I’ll definitely go and order your thread kit!
Thank you for visiting this evening. I hope you have a good night. Love Edie from St Helens,Oregon USA
I absolutely love your quilt! The pattern and colors are gorgeous!
I also love the Bohin chalk marking pen.
Please take good care! kj
That’s a lovely cheerful quilt top
Thanks for the chat. Your thread box looks great. Well done.
Aurofil threat box … just in time for Mother’s Day ! ❤
Thank you Kate 😘
I LOVE 12 weight Aurifil thread to hand quilt too. Sew excited about the color choices & the box is just lovely. Thank you for putting it together for us!! ❤
