❤ We live in Schertz Texas, and my Granddaughter was in the ER last week she received one of the Linus quilt,I believe its a Irish Chain quilt. It looks so much like the one you showed here. My love and happiness to you for all you do
Any info on the Linus Project? I make childrens quilts and if I could donate some, I would love to. I hope your granddaughter is recovered and doing well.
@@sickoftheshit Thank you so much for asking for my Granddaughter. Some fire 🐜 bit her. And she had a horrible reaction to that. But thank God for prayer answered.I want to find out more about this Linus quilt so I can help back
You're like hot chocolate and whipped cream on a cold winter's day. Thank you, Kate.
😊That made me smile!
My daughter was the recipient of a Project Linus quilt while in the hospital a few years ago. It was so appreciated!
With the crazy world outside , watching you crafting beautiful things in the comfort of your cute cozy home , your videos gives me a calm and relaxing mood . So thank you Kate ! 🙏🏼👏🏼🌹
I agree - very contagious
Oh, Kate, I love it when you are happily crafting. Your tranquility passes to me, and puts me in a happy space too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful skills with us all. ❤😊🌲🌟🏠💫🎶
For a design board you can also use the back of a flannel plastic table cloth, works wonderful.
Good to know- thank you!
Great idea, Thank you😊
Yep. That's what I use. Works fine.
I just found a Christmas one, I’ve been searching for a while now.
Another lovely visit. Thanks so much for including us in your creations. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I can't wait till the next visit. Your sofa is so comfortable, and your tea is warming. Blessings to you, Kate.
Thanks, Kate. I love the way you do your videos, it’s like popping in for an afternoon with you. Those fabrics are gorgeous and the quilt is so pretty. What a beautiful gift for someone who needs it. Thanks for sharing.
I love it when you have your curtains open and let us see your garden as you work on your project.
Kate and Anna, lovely pinwheel quilt, snuggly treasure for a child. Thank you for your peaceful warm presentations.
Blessings, Dawn
Thank you, Kate, for supporting Project Linus. I, too, make quilts for this worthwhile charity in my province of PEI, Canada. I so enjoy visiting with you!
Rome was not built in a day……but you can certainly make a quilt! Bless you🦋
Project Linus is a wonderful organization. It is wonderful that you are supporting it. Thank you for your videos!
I'm glad you chose the pinwheel pattern. Every child who sees a pinwheel in the breeze smiles brightly!
A lovely bundle of Liberty Fabrics and a beautiful new addition to your Project Linus Quilts - wonderful Kate
Красавчик виремия йест завтра буду на улице как билске далеко
So pretty! 😍 There’s a child out there that will love this! I know there’s an adult here that does! Beautiful fabric and it really is a simple block with so much character! Bless you Kate for participating in such a wonderful project! ❤
This quilt turned out so lovely Kate. I especially loved seeing someone whose pinwheel center points were not 100% perfect. It still turned out lovely despite that. It gives me confidence that if my blocks are not exactly 100% perfect I can still make something lovely out of it.
I like mine to be perfect so I hand sew.
I don't worry about 'perfect'. I worry about if it will be well loved! So I like to get it finished, even if a little less than perfect & into someone's life. Often when you give something that is perfect-perfect there are a ton of expectations that it will STAY perfect; which equates to the person being afraid to use it & just putting it away OR they use & abuse it & you feel a let down because it was so perfect & they 'ruined' it. I have cautioned my perfectionist sewing daughter about this. She has gifted some very perfect, very time consuming patterned quilts to people with babies/toddlers. I went to one friend's house & she had used it as a couch 'cover' because their springer spaniel would go out & get muddy & jump up on the couch. She used my daughter's precious QUILT to take up the mud to protect the couch, of all things. I knew how much time my daughter put into that quilt & felt a bit heartsick. But once you give a gift to someone you don't get to dictate how they use it. So especially for kids quilts, don't worry about fussy patterns or perfect corners.
@pattyhansen7563 I completely agree with your comment. I spent hours and hours (intricate hand stitching) making something special for my sister to wear and she [very proudly] told me that she took it along to the vet, to stay a couple of nights in the cage WITH HER CAT, after the cat had an abdominal surgery!!!!! I was devastated. 😢 All that time WASTED making something special for HER, and for what?!? It was like telling me she lined the litter box with it!!!!! If she needed a cozy blanket for her cat, I would have made something for her cat. That taught me a good lesson. I no longer attach emotion to inanimate objects. I make things solely for my own "busy hands" pleasure and enjoy the process. Although, I still strive for perfection (only because I enjoy the challenge of being precise) - now, what happens to that item once it's finished is completely irrelevant to me.
@@ostrobogulous1 thats devestating! I just try to be precies only because its bugs me when points do not meet. I am bugged for the moment because I made a small quilt and the yellow sashing I used is obviously from two different colour baths and even it being a very uninportant quilt, I know that if I don’t change it it will bug me forever!
I hear you! The different yellows would definitely bug me, too!!!!!
With today's video, I felt like I was visiting with a neighbor. Another sweet quilt, Kate. Cheers.
Ahhh another beautiful quilt for a lucky person to cuddle! Thanks and Take care 🇨🇦👍👍💖🌈

Good evening Kate, this is a beautiful set of fabrics and i think i remember you saying that it was your beloved mum's favourite colours. What a lovely way to keep your mum's memory alive by making her favourite colours into such a lovely gift for that someone who needs it most. I can see a wee girl falling in love with the colours in this hug in a quilt and it being there to close around her when she needs that solitude of a much wanted hug. I have been making my granddaughter a quilt so that as she grows she will always have her Granny Phee there to hug her, when i am not there. The one that i am making is 110" x 98" which i know is going to be caressing the floor because her bed is only a wee single as she is just 4, but it is going to be big enough for any bed that she has growing, but also for her cuddling with mummy and daddy on the settee watching a good film. I hope that like Scarlett, the wee one that gets your quilt manages to keep it with them for whenever she needs it. THank you Kate for another wonderful gift. Sending you hugs from over the border, Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland
I enjoy every video (repeatedly) and your tutorials are always welcome. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience, and talents. It’s like having a visit with a great friend.
What a sweet and wonderful surprise for you Kate! How kind and generous of European Quilt Supplies to think of you! I do believe you utilized it in a most honorable way for Project Linus♥️♥️🙏🏻
Пирвет чут задешку понимая виходиш
Thanks, Kate! Very cute. Someone will definitely enjoy your generous gift.
And now I’m thinking I’ll whip up an easy pinwheel project-funny, too, because I bought supplies to make potholders to give as gifts! Great minds, ay?!?! Lolol ❤
It is amazing that you have made such a lovely quilt and then beautifully hand quilted it! You are so generous with your time and talent and treasure. 💗
Добри Ден милая мая харошая на свободе или чета зайнет сичас никто нет мала сем изделат витоже❤
Kate, you have been such an inspiration to me since I started watching your channel about a year ago. So thank you. I wanted to tell you that I’ve begun quilting with my mom, who just turned 84, and is a lifelong sewist. I’ve always been more of a knitter, but I have discovered that I also enjoy making quilts. It’s been a wonderful way to connect with my mom! I just finished my very first quilt, and guess what? It’s a pinwheel quilt! I pieced it together from fabrics from my mom’s huge fabric stash. So I was delighted with today’s video!
Another wonderful quilt made with lots of love and gentle humor by our dear Kate.😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have never made a Linus blanket, but I will start mine this week. I intend to embroider it also I am 81 years old and never heard of Linus blankets before. God bless you for sharing with us.
I love the beautiful strip in the backing!
A beautiful quilt for a wonderful cause!🥰 I think your Mum would have loved those colours, wouldn't she? 😊
I'm thinking the same, that those are Kate's mother's colours! Which is quite fitting for a project continuing her legacy.
Another lovely time spent watching your videos Kate.
It’s beautiful Kate - I love the colour ways
Such a lovely quilt! I’ve done Project Linus quilts in the past, maybe I’ll begin a few more. Thanks for the inspiration!
I can't help wondering if the child who receives this gift realises that the fabric is by Liberty and is fascinated by it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if not only are they comforted by this quilt but also inspired to create quilts to gift for others in their future?
God bless this quilt and its recipient.
Thanks for sharing Kate x
You are such a treasure, Kate. Quite a generous lady.
It looks like you are well into autumn now. I see breeze on your plants.
Such a beautiful quilt, and I always love HST’s. I can’t help but think that, from what you have said before, this quilt would have been one that your mum would have loved with the beautiful purples and lavenders. I always enjoy the videos that you are sewing on a quilt or another project. They are always so inspiring. Happy quilting, and blessing to you…….
How generous you are to make these Project Linus quilts. You have inspired me to look in my area for a chapter. Thank you. It so fun to watch your videos - love seeing what you are up to and creating.
Dear Kate, what an inspiration you are to those of us on the lime green couch. I love how this quilt turned out, and the back is so pretty too. I think I'm going to try making this; you make it look so effortless for this beginner. Thank you, as always, for sharing your life with us; stay well.
Very pretty piece & so kind of you to donate to such a great charity....
Wrapping up in a quilt is like getting a hug. You are sending theses little ones a hug when they need it most. Bless you Kate.
I have been re-watching some of your videos and made the sweet potato chips, they were a big hit, and now to make the squash and carrot soup. Thank you for all you share, I just feel like I am in your cottage with you!! I also received my 2024 calendar and it is hanging up and admired with each time I pass by, thank you again. Blessed be!! Love the little quilt!
It's so lovely! Thank you for sharing and for inspiring. Hope to see Anna's finished quilt soon. Take good care. I wanted to let you know that I "broke in" the very nice apron from you baking homemade chocolate chip cookies with my grandson 😊. We've been baking together since he was just a little bit - he'll be turning 9 soon! We had a wonderful, fun time together! I told him the story behind the Last Homely House since that was the apron I was wearing. He enjoyed the story. Hope to see another video from you soon.
You are such a delightful person and relaxing to watch. I believe my heart rate slows down. Your sewing space with peeps at your garden is lovely! Now I want to make a half square triangle quilt 😊❤
Your quilt is adorable. Love your videos. You always remind me to enjoy the process of making.
I have been sewing in the early morning before work. I have made several jellyroll race pattern quilts, some 3-yard quilts, and just some easy squares from layer cakes. Amazing to me how fast the quilt tops come together. I am trying to use my stash. Honestly, though, it doesn't look like I have even touched it that much. Onward and upward!

So beautiful!! Anyone else smell lavender just from the colors?
Looks like your Mom would like those fabrics! 💕 and Everyone loves Liberty! Thank you Miss Kate!
Hi Kate, I cannot add anything new to all the well-⁷ deserved praise you receive. You are marvelously and generously talented. I love watching your channel.
Having grown up in turmoil, you remind me that 'there can be peace in the valley for all of us.' Thank you, Kate, from the bottom of my heart.
Kate the colours you are using in this quilt remind me so much of your mother's quilts that you finished sometime ago. I always find myself looking for diagonal pattern when doing scrape quilts I often use sample fabrics for my charity quilts, if I'm fortunate I get samples from a whole line and just love adding solids to complete the fabrics. Will have to remember your pattern, I'm working on a carpenter's star for my grandson's 18th in Feb, he has been doing a carpenter's apprenticeship for nearly 3years, he struggeled in the school environment and all he wanted to be was a carpenter, long story sort, he gained his apprenticeship through a work place programme through his high school and had everyones blessings, he wasn't a bad student but just needed to move into the practical side of learning. Always thinks if we could only be sensitive to non academic students and help them transition into a trade that interests them. ❤
Amazing, these colours are right up my alley! Just beautiful and calming to look at.
Lovely...done with joy😊
I love the pinwheel layout best as well! Lovely 😍

Loving the additional touch of the diagonal "stripe" with the patterned fabric. Beautiful result.
Thats the very best way I've ever seen anyone make galf square triangles. Wow, Im going to do this thanks.
The music is so soothing. I’m having a rough time with life and the music is so healing along with your video. Thank you
Eleanor Burns has a ruler in her quilt in a day collection for squaring up half square triangles before you press them open. Saves the second cut on every single half square triangle. You’ve simply got to check it out. It is my favorite and most useful speciality ruler.
Those fabrics are lovely!! I will check out European Quilt Supplies. Thank you.
Pretty quilt, Thank you for donating to a great cause.
Someone is going to love to cuddle under that beautiful quilt. I love watching all your videos to see what your up to.
Once again I’ve learned something new. This production shortcut is just wonderful Kate. Now I’ve got another quilt to try. You do keep me busy Kate. ☺️
Thank you for sharing your wonderful work! I have never heard of Project Linus; this is terrific news! We have several chapters in Canada so I will be checking it out. I have some former classmates in Nova Scotia who have been making charity quilts for mostly cancer patients. I have some small blankets to be donated to a local hospital; these go to the families in memory of their dear little ones who will not be coming home; a memory of comfort. Keep doing what you're doing; you and your family are truly amazing! Bless you!
Kate, you have inspired me so much to donate quite a bit of my STUFF tidying up, EPP, quilting, and knitting. My scraps and bunches of charm squares will disappear and make some children very happy. Perhaps you might like to share a photo with Liberty Fabrics and let them see what you did with the fabric they gave you. Your couch is very comfortable and you are an excellent speaker and teacher. When you spin your own yarn, I am mesmerized. Thank you for all you do.
The prettiest quilt! I just love it. Wonderful job. Thank you so much for all your visits. They make my day. Love from Chicago ❤
Oh Kate. Love, love the pinwheels. How lovely. I was looking at your kitchen chair pads again. I have a sister-in-law who quilts and is about to send me one I commissioned her to do for me due to my waning eye sight. Can’t wait to see it. It’s done with all of the Asian fat quarter fabrics I gathered over the years. Since I’ve saved my eyes for my full time painting, I’ve turned my quilt ideas over to her. Kaffe Fassett will become my kitchen chair cover designer. Thank you for all of the inspiration the past few years. Hugs, Felicia from California.
What a beautiful tradition. Thank you
