Personally wouldn’t mind a long video of decor, like to see the thought process and your story version of why things are there. Love your decorations always gives me ideas Nice build!!
It’s just too big. If the game could handle the amount of building and decorating it would take to make it look full and hold enough settlers without it bugging or crashing then I think it could be the best location but it’s just not worth it
I can actually see him creating multi-layer structures up against the walls instead of using vault items. Kind of like how the nucleus has it in far harbor.
The wires as reinforcement for the stairs, why didnt i think of that aesthetic? Excellent sir. I walled up the freeway as well, but i left the upper part open for some natural sunlight. Im probably about 1/4 of the way done with my Greygarden right now. Thanks for some inspiration buddy.
I know you've probably heard it before, but all of your builds look so natural to a bethesda game. Everything I've seen from you gives me an almost nostalgic feeling, as if im walking through a brand new settlement that will eventually need my help.
Shawzzo, you are by far my favorite settlement building youtuber. I personally would love to watch a livestream where we get to see some of the thought process and behind the scenes stuff. Your settlements always have such great attention to detail and lore behind them and I always look forward to the next release. Keep up the great work! You're building something very special here.
I've never really built at Graygarden myself but I'm still kicking myself in the head for not even thinking to build a greenhouse around the outside mutfruit garden. That's so simple an idea but so effective at tying the place together. Another lovely build, Shawzzo. Thanks for the best Fallout settlement content on UA-cam.
Honestly when I need some inspiration for building settlements I always come to your videos. Your decorating really brings settlements I don't usually build at to life and I always grab a nice cup of tea while watching your videos. A true UA-cam hidden gem 💎 keep it up man!
Your builds are so creative that they have inspired me to make a blue truck at the Startlight Drive-in into a small farm and produce stand. I used the rusted car next to it as a watermelon bin. Then I glitched a double airplane seat into a rusted car with a round TV into the trunk. A personal drive-in movie experience for people desperate for entertainment. I also glassed in that cute miniture car with speaker stand as a museum display. I peopled it with mannequins in prewar clothes. Final touch I scattered beer bottles, hamburger boxes and nuka cola paper cups on the ground around the car. All because I've been watching your builds. Thank you. 😊
I really wish you would upload these for the transfer settlement mod. I just dont have the time or patience to make stuff this good, and your stuff is so Lore and world friendly compared to most stuff out there, especially with no mods.
I would love to see Spectre Island built in a way to highlight all the crazy history it has been thru (Joov has a great video on it) with a functioning factory and as many settlers as possible!
I have learned so much from you about building and decorating. I love your style. If you would make a decorating video, I would watch it no matter how long it was!
Thank you so much for this! Definitely one of my fave settlements. I love the fact that we can also utilize the bridge too! These are highly appreciated, they really make a huge change for settlement building!
i find with greygarden (and pretty much all settlements!) put your turrets miles high (along the broken freeway on platforms facing greygarden and the hill, few down below on the greenhouse roof all round), they take out attackers way before they reach the settlement! its impressive for night attacks... fireworks display!) method is easy, stack 3 shack walkways/bridges (reuse each 3 by storing them, turrets remain where placed), put 3 turrets at each level facing the north/south/east/west of the settlement, then put a few more in between. i did this at murkwater (had the nsew corners covered and aprox 2 more in between each side... mirelurk queen died 12 seconds after spawning, never reached the settlement.)
You sir are awesome! Have seen a few of your builds now and many youtuber talk BS, but i tried it the way you showed and it worked 99%! Your builds are awesome and i thank youzu for giving me inspiration.
always impressed by your level of care and how you think about people living in these places. the inside of the highway reminds me of rivet city market for some reason.
I've loved Fallout 4 since release and I specifically fell in love with it because of the settlement building. You've reignited my love for Fo4 settlements because these are simply some of the best I've ever seen. Great work dude
really dig your approach to building, actually got me to reinstall. It's somewhat niche, but it'd be great to see your take on sunshine tidings sometime
Oh dude thank you for the premiere also one thing like when u finish every build your last video should be just showing every build on the wasteland that you've made
@@Shawzzo I watch you now as Lady Empress? And the Orange? guy (made a very detailed Hangmans in cyberpunk) stopped posting. I stopped building years ago. I got back to it - it's cathartic in way.
Your decorating is what takes these builds beyond what most can do. I’m no mods too but I never junk decorate. The inside room on the bridge is incredible.
I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon this video. Fallout 4 is a game I've played 3 times through because it takes place close to where I live so it's cool to see some of the stuff in the game. I'm terrible at building and my home bases were usually not great but I kind of want to go back and play now and focus on like 4 to 5 different settlements to build on. Your build was incredible and now I'm on my way to go and watch your videos from the start haha
Cool stuff! The only things I would recommend are 1) the scaffolding stairs with railings attached, particularly for the high-up areas and 2) raider cloth tents for the guardsman up top and his bed/couch/power armor, maybe just a barebones shack. Something to protect them from the wind, weather, and the sun.
As always your builds highlight areas not a lot of people knew you could even access 🙂Building on the overpass is genius and so realistic. Keep it up. One area I think is massively overlooked is the Nuka World Red rocket, as it is probably the biggest build area in the game, apart from Spectacle Island. The latter I have as a farm at the moment, and a shop area surrounding the existing farm house. Could do more with it, and your videos have inspired me so much...
All people and robots welcome. I feel bad for the ghouls, it seems like a nice place to visit 😜side note, at the start you said about a decorating live stream, I’d definitely watch. It would be cool to see your thought process. And yes the wires on the stairs is a great idea ❤
Awesome idea with the stairs! Initially i thought you were going to leave them without support, but when you showed them with the wires it improved 1000 times. Great job with this build!
It seems like so many people are always complaining about the birds for some strange reason. In this video the birds really make the overpass garden feel alive and also serene. I do like the walled off overpass. Some of the gunner camps have similar walls. It helps this build feel like it really fits into the Fallout 4 world.
the bridge wall looks incredible! i did mostly clean settlement builds, but next round i’m planning on going scrappier bc i’m so inspired by your builds!
Brilliant build mate. I didn't know that building on the highway was even possible. I have never really paid much attention to Graygarden. I'm inspired for my next playthrough 😊😊😊
WOW Fantastic build. You can assign any robot to defend when you make your own through the DLC. As I’ve always done this with Greygarden, also produced more farming for adhesive. Can’t wait for more of your builds 🤖👍
Bravo, vous donnez vie grâce à vos formidables idées en décoration ! La construction de cette colonie est "basique" mais la décoration est "fantastique" !! Bravo pour vos réalisations, c'est toujours un plaisir à regarder.
Love your builds and all the neat solutions you have for weird spots where you aren't sure quite what to put, but make it work anyways! Nitpicky thing for me, and you do you, but I feel like sometimes you have too many decorations and it overwhelms the build a bit. But obviously its up to you, so keep at it!
Certainly going from strength to strength on your builds in the Commonwealth Shawzoo. I hope the developers for Fallout give you an opportunity to work on the game with some places to visit, you'd be able to see the locations Shawzoo built ! Great idea about using your skills that you have developed for the last two builds in Fallout.
Dude! You are so right about learning from all the other settlements and savings your experience of those for Spectacle Island and The Castle! Love that perspective, my guy! ✊ I’d love to see what you could do with Egret Tours Marina and Murkwater Construction Site! Thanks again for the awesome content!
Love your builds! An idea regarding decorations: You could show a few clips of your favorite POIs or decoration-heavy spots. Also share your thought process AS you're placing items. Keep it up man!
Wow these are some really dope ideas I should implement myself. Thank you for this inspiring video! It motivates me to build many cool settlements of myself and maybe share them on UA-cam as well one day to give back to the creative community and inspire others like you inspired me :)
Ah. Mazing! You really do have this wired. I will never understand how you place all those individual items. I've already mentioned it before, but it's so difficult placing even one item in a specific spot, I can't imagine doing the volume of items you have in each settlement. I would definitely appreciate a short video showing some of your item-placing techniques in action. I had no idea you could build up on the highway at Graygarden. I've done zero improvements there and now I'm quite tempted. Your skills and dedication are impressive!
I love it! The whole settlement is amazing but the overpass is my favorite too. Turning the dirt piles into pretty little mini gardens is absolutely brilliant! I’ve never seen anyone else do anything like it. All of your builds are great but Grey Garden is number one for me now.🙂 I know you don’t build with mods but have you ever considered using a mod that lets you place a workshop anywhere? Once placed the workshop functions just like any other workshop in the game. Mod works on console as well (forgot what platform you’re on). Finishing all the existing settlements in the game doesn’t have to be the end unless you want it to be.
Hi! Really enjoy your videos, I’ve learned so much about building settlements… but I’m nowhere near your league yet! Really hope you do more of these and cover all the locations. Great work mate!
I always enjoy challenging myself when building at GG; mainly using the bridge that is part of the build area and turning it into a mini human settlement while the bots can keep their hydroponics farm with some extra Automatron build a-bots.
this is awesome! because opinion was asked for about the platform going up, i have done this, but only i used the scaffold ramps that have hand rails and used the handrails on this levels for an industrial more heavy duty look... feels safer too. i have fallen from up there lol
LOL WHAT. Is it possible to build on the bridge too? I've started playing fallout 7 times, 4 of which were for construction. And this is the first time I've heard that the highway is in the radius of construction. Building a shelter in a bridge segment even sounds cool. Well, apparently I'm downloading the fallout again)
Looks super cool! You have such nice "out of the box" ideas, like that chaie glitched into the box etc. Totally gonny steal that❤😂 The only thing i would add, would be more Toilettes xD The space behind the greenhouse would be fitting for an outhouse or something i think. XD Good poo for the plants 😂 The amount of detail and the work u put in this settlement is awesome 🎉
Settlement looks awesome, The only thing I'd say about the steps up to the elevated highway, is they are a bit narrow. I'd not fancy that journey irl lol
Oh. My. God. I have been watching builds since FO4 was new. This is the best vanilla Grey Garden to date. Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers mate
Personally wouldn’t mind a long video of decor, like to see the thought process and your story version of why things are there. Love your decorations always gives me ideas Nice build!!
Yeah he could make a playlist specifically for the decoration vids.
I am in too.
When you planning on doing vault 88? That shit gonna take forever
That wwould be nice. But challenging.
That would be crazy and cool af, imagine it in a DIY style
It’s just too big. If the game could handle the amount of building and decorating it would take to make it look full and hold enough settlers without it bugging or crashing then I think it could be the best location but it’s just not worth it
@@x_mac3_xwayne785that’s true but i’ve limited it to the main hall and water purification area before and that is quite a nice space for a big town

He plans on getting to that at some point after he's completed every build in the game
Yes im waiting for this too
I can't believe after so many hours of settlement building I never knew you could build on that highway. Incredible build!
Thank you for the video! I just can't imagine how much imagination, effort and time it took to make such a cozy place. It's just wow!
Def need to do far harbor settlements . Old long fellows cabin alone is massive with so much potential
Pillar sinking the glass walls around the open garden is a stroke of mad genius. I’ll have to incorporate that into my build!
Dude you are the best in the business at settlement building. You have serious talent. Keep em coming!
I would love to see Spectre Island built in a way to highlight all the crazy history it has been thru (Joov has a great video on it) with a functioning factory and as many settlers as possible!
One of the most underrated settlements in fallout 4. Simply incredible build as always Shawzzo.
I love your staircase to the overpass. A very elegant solution to the problem of how to get up there.

I always forget you can build on the highway here, too. Might have to make this my player base one run.
I love this. I'm not terribly creative, so it's really nice to be given a decent idea for a settlement that I typically don't like doing much with.
Livestreaming the decoration on twitch is definately the way to allow us to watch.
Man! You are a wizard! Even my best settlements look awful compared to any of yours!

Somehow I forgot to comment after I watched the video. Epic as always, and I have never seen somebody do so much with the highway.

amazing build mate👍
Really nice build! Makes me wanna play fallout 4 again. Regarding settlements, I'd love to see you do something with Outpost Zimonja
The keep out sign seems to work perfectly.
Shawzzo dropping another banger as usual 💪💪 This one was especially epic
I do wish there was railings on the stairs looks super scary to walk up
Yes do a live stream! Or a long video talking/showing more about how you decorate.
I’ve never even thought of going up on the highway thts so smart actually
I had no idea you could build up there!!! So cool!❤
