I really hate the whole "our character is a synth" stuff. It just wouldn't make sense. There's a lot of reasons why, but I'll just list a few: - Father is very clearly shown to think of synths as nothing more than tools. Why would he go through the trouble of making a synth of us, setting us on a path, only to act all buddy-buddy when we finally reach the place? Why would he EVER choose to appoint a synth to his position in the Institute? - If you opt to betray/destroy the Institute, why in the ever-loving hell would he not use your recall code to deactivate you and stop the attack? Even for a lunatic like Father, that'd be unbelievable. - If you're a synth, why is there no record of you in the Institute database? There was one for Danse, but not us? - The entire story of Far Harbor tells us that Dima is a manipulative sack of shit. He's way too eager to tell someone he just met that they're not real people. He did it to Kasumi. He bases this entirely on the feeble "evidence" of not remembering the past (which is contradicted in dialogue elsewhere). Nate even narrates the opening cinematic, detailing the PAST. - The series has been sorta iffy on whether synths are immune to rads or not. If they are immune, why would we take rad damage? The only good "evidence" I've heard of us being a synth is the fact that we can use VATS prior to getting a Pipboy. Seriously?
the VATS thing might be just lazy programming on Bethesda's side, FO3 and FO:NV are made on Gamebryo engine so VATS was a new thing in Creation engine, they just implemented it as default property not requiring any items/perks.
@Dzdzovnica I 100% believe that's the case: either it's just some laziness from the devs or a small detail that they forgot to trim. I've heard people say, "Oh, if that's the case, why didn't they fix it? They intentionally left it there to clue us in!" I highly doubt that Bethesda, even if they knew all about it, would waste the time to fix it. The game has been out for almost a decade now, and even the recent Next-Gen update didn't fix some serious bugs that have been around since the game released. Why would they touch this one? If Bethesda had intended the player to be a synth, I highly doubt they'd have left it behind a weird quirk before you exit the vault. FO4's largest problem, the writing, shows that Bethesda has absolutely no care for subtlety. They already have every character tell the player everything about anything. Their writers wouldn't be capable of letting players interpret the idea in their own way.
53:00 Any weapon, any modification, and name will work. You do have to rename the weapon or else it will use the Pip-Boy and not the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Book. It should work with armour pieces as well.

"I'd like a cheese burger and a vanilla shake please..." is a reference to Veronica from FO:NV, who says that when talking to the BOS through the intercom to get into their bunker.
Something cool about letting wolfgang go a trudys diner is that if you encounter them in goodneighbor and kill them at the same time you kill the guy shaking you down for caps, no one says anything.
There is actually a somewhat easier way to do the SPECIAL book duplication glitch Take the convator belts from a settlement improvement dlc and use the storage convator. if you time it just right, you can take the book as it enters the storage and quickly take the book from the belt, with some luck, you will suddenly wind up with two books, drop the books and when you pick them up, one will allow you to use it like normal
23:20 after that kells message, i proceeded to eradicate the scourge that is maxon's brotherhood with artillery fire and watched them all burn for their vileness
38:57 You can get a lot more clues like talking to Codsworth before you get affinity with him. Also the terminals in Vault 111 say all the cryopods failed. 51:25 You can get to it by jetpacking up through the window. No need to noclip. 56:56 You also get lines with the companions when Dogmeat is hurt, stimmed, etc.
I don't know about the other companions yet, but when I was playing with Piper as my companion, once in a while she'll yell out "I am Handy, destroyer of worlds!" during combat... I think that line was meant for Codsworth or one of the handys you fight doing rogue robot quests but Piper's VA recorded it by mistake.
Something that goes unmentioned is if you use the Mysterious serum you get every so often from Lorenzo Cabot on the man in Far Harbor, the game won't recognize the serum had been used and he won't give you anymore.
Fun Fact 1: There's a Skyrim reference in the quest "The battle of Bunker Hill", which can be only found in the german version of the game. When you meet the courser at the beginning of the quest and choose the sarcastic dialogue option, your character say that he/she would get in time, but then he/she took an arrow to the knee. This is a reference of a popular quote from the guards in Skyrim. Fun Fact 2: The german voice actor of the male protagonist also voiced the guards in Skyrim.
Apologies if anyone else has mentioned this, but.. at 10:00, you reference the line, 'please state the nature of the medical emergency' from star trek voyager, but what makes this 'easter egg' even better is that the voice of knight captain Cade is ..... Dwight Schultz!... (best known as 'howling mad' Murdoch from the A-team... yes i am THAT old) who also appeared in voyager,(as Lt. Barclay) alongside Robert Picardo, who played the holographic doctor.. also, for those that don't know, Dwight Schultz has a long history with the Fallout franchise, first appearing in F.O.2 (1998), & F.O. Tactics (2001)
So about the memory implanted synth thing the lone survivor is the only protagonist that can use vata before picking up a pip boy. There is a log that states that synths can see the percentage of a bullet hitting and have the perception of slowing or stoping time... In other words the lone survivor is a synth
@@newnamesameperson397 It's definitely bethesda cutting corners. Remember, this is the same company that made Far Harbor then went on to make fallout 76. Furthermore, they would have 100% elaborated further on something that would be rather important since, you know, *people can blow up the institute if taking the Brotherhood route and Shaun could simply state the shutdown code for the player character if they were a synth* Kind of common sense to put some sort of grand reveal at that point if that were case.
@@ImperialGuardsman2There's a theory of the MC being an experimental Gen 4 synth. A unit with a free will an ability to determine its own fate. So according to this theory, MC was an experiment of the highest priority and their actions were not to be interfered in no matter the cost. That can explain why the Institute didn't shut down our character as soon as they began to pose even a slightest hint of a threat.
@@newnamesameperson397 What's really funny is if the player uses a barber chair or surgery chair between leaving vault 111 and going into Kellogg's memory the player model that is shown is the current model and not the one originally created at the start of the game.

I really wanted to like this. I generally love these long form videos..... but bro you gotta talk more normal. Just speak like youre talking to a friend. Not reading a script.
Great video AGC as usual, but imo no matter how many references, funny encounters or any others stuff this game has I still see it as extremely infantile, childish, with immature humor and not really interesting. The whole idea of the Institute, Railroad and synths is ridiculous itself, I won't even mention that they copy pasted the BoS ending from F3. NV is the way Fallout should be made... yeah and on the top of all crap in F4 is the dialogue system + dialouges themselves, characters are so boring, stupid and fake that this is just ridiculous. Even though the idea of settlements was awesome they managed to screw it.. Bethesda is a company that creats incredible foundations for games, then the rest is either crap or fixed by modders, almost every game from them proves it.
gotta ask, is this some weird bait tactic where you intentionally play out the "obnoxious nv fan" stereotype or what? pretty good stuff if so, though maybe a bit too obvious. complaining about stuff being dumb or unrealistic with a legion profile gimmick kind of gives it away

It's sad how the Brotherhood of Steel brainwashed Paladin Danse so much that when he finds out hes a synth he thinks he is a horrible creature that deserves to be destroyed
I don't get people like you. He's not a human. Hes a robot.
I mean, he kinda is.
Not because he's a synth but because he's just a shitty person
@@EighmyLupin No one cares about either

17:45 so in new vegas Mr. house talks about how he proected the city from bombs with a Anti-air defense system but it wasn't quite finished so some of them got threw and blew up the city might be why its called new vegas
Fallout 4 is so fictional, yet believable. So many layers to fallout 4. Characters seem real. Events seem real. Everything in fallout story wise is just so realistic. They explain the sci-fi aspects very well. I wonder how big the development team is. This game is worth every cent. Best open world rpg in my opinion.
You had me at the start
If you like f4. New vegas is on a whole othet level of lore. Genuinely the writing is in a league of its own
@@christopherdelacruz9728people glaze Fo3 and Vegas but they were dated graphically and gameplay wise the second they came out. Not denying they’re good games/experiences. But people glaze those two way too much imo.
@@glasss-o-water5186 fair point. Also "why would you want to join a fascist paramilitary organisation?", but also you can join the Legion lmao
I really hate the whole "our character is a synth" stuff. It just wouldn't make sense. There's a lot of reasons why, but I'll just list a few:
- Father is very clearly shown to think of synths as nothing more than tools.
They intentionally left it there to clue us in!"
I highly doubt that Bethesda, even if they knew all about it, would waste the time to fix it.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the secret art inside lunchboxes. Although it is a minor detail so maybe not that surprised.
53:00 Any weapon, any modification, and name will work. You do have to rename the weapon or else it will use the Pip-Boy and not the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Book. It should work with armour pieces as well.
Why is it always the cool stuff that gets cut from games. Damn it Bethesda

Lmao i love how she admits to betraying the brotherhood right in front of the Lance Captain and the woman in power armor who are two of the most important people in the brotherhood
I find it odd McCready mentions the navy. Since knowing he was a kid in fallout 3 he shouldn't know about the navy?
It's not odd considering that people can still read. And reading a terminal entry about the navy is bound to happen.
I mean Macready did travel to the Commonwealth from Capital Wasteland so he's probably seen and read some things
Thanks for the fun video! As many hours as I've put into F4, you've shown that I haven't explored as thoroughly as I thought! Thank you!
I have a lot of trouble sleeping and these kinds of videos help set my mind at ease. You may not know, but these videos help a lot of people. Thanks, brother.
That ghost Shaun one is weird because I grabbed a clip of the ghost popping up in the institute during one of the faction assaults, standing where the bald synth insider is usually gardening with Liam Benet

At 38:10 you mention a Police terminal reference, ive got another one. In the BADTFL you can find an entry for Opie Hurst, 6'4, distinguishing marks includes beard, arm tattoos, and a back tattoo. Listed personal effects is 1 leather vest, 1 wool knit cap, and a set of motorcycle keys.

"I'd like a cheese burger and a vanilla shake please..." is a reference to Veronica from FO:NV, who says that when talking to the BOS through the intercom to get into their bunker.
All I know is that if fallout ever does a vault 117 There'd better be a halo reference somewhere
I loved this, this made for a nice interlude in which I ate a veggie sausage sandwich and had a cuppa tea, many thanks AGC, now back to playing FO4. 🙂

Something cool about letting wolfgang go a trudys diner is that if you encounter them in goodneighbor and kill them at the same time you kill the guy shaking you down for caps, no one says anything.
Did you know that at 19:43 the bottom dialogue option is a reference to the movie Soylent Green?
11:27 i think she keeps the cats as pets, and sells their meat once they die of natural causes or whatever, hence the cat paintings in the shack.
16:22 Mr Handy was made by RobCo & General Atomics
There is actually a somewhat easier way to do the SPECIAL book duplication glitch
Take the convator belts from a settlement improvement dlc and use the storage convator. if you time it just right, you can take the book as it enters the storage and quickly take the book from the belt, with some luck, you will suddenly wind up with two books, drop the books and when you pick them up, one will allow you to use it like normal
Never forget Pvt. McKinney

No one else got the Last Crusade reference? "No ticket."
I thought the same thing but I don’t know if it was a reference to it but it did remind me of that
I don't know about the other companions yet, but when I was playing with Piper as my companion, once in a while she'll yell out "I am Handy, destroyer of worlds!" during combat... I think that line was meant for Codsworth or one of the handys you fight doing rogue robot quests but Piper's VA recorded it by mistake.
It's clear as day Piper is an ex Miss Nanny turned Synth like Curie
30:37 Bro was like "wtf..."
Wow!! I never knew some of these. Thank you!!
9:30 Is that voice actor the same guy that voiced Tuvok in Star Trek Voyager?
Yeah it's Tim Russ. He's done voice acting in a number of video games.
Something that goes unmentioned is if you use the Mysterious serum you get every so often from Lorenzo Cabot on the man in Far Harbor, the game won't recognize the serum had been used and he won't give you anymore.
Why was all this content cut? It feels like it would have given it a sense of direction more than it did. 😢
Not all
Because the point of a video game project is usually to sell the game, not keep making it forever
The fact that PAM has a subroutine entirely dedicated to ignoring Deacon is golden. They shouldve kept it

More than likely it's Bethesda cutting corners. The just reused the Kellogg memory scene to save time I bet
@@newnamesameperson397 It's definitely bethesda cutting corners. Remember, this is the same company that made Far Harbor then went on to make fallout 76. Furthermore, they would have 100% elaborated further on something that would be rather important since, you know, *people can blow up the institute if taking the Brotherhood route and Shaun could simply state the shutdown code for the player character if they were a synth*
Kind of common sense to put some sort of grand reveal at that point if that were case.
Hear me out.
It's an oversight in a Bethesda game. Crazy I know
@@ImperialGuardsman2There's a theory of the MC being an experimental Gen 4 synth.
