That tip on using a connecting piece with the ball tracks to have them line up perfectly was brilliant. Sad that there aren't any better items for roofing without mods but you have consistently done better with just vanilla than many builders do with mods. Thanks for the vid!
I remember posting that roof method on reddit awhile back for echo lake lumber, i didnt give best description how as i did purely pillar glitches, glad to see a straighter and possibly easier way Fairplay hope we see great builds with this
I got it close but i couldn’t have them meet together perfectly at the top . One side was always slightly higher but it doesn’t look bad so I’m not gonna lose my mind trying to fix it …which i did 😂
honestly these builds are so sick and the fact you manage to do them without any mods is 100 times more impressive than all those modded build videos out there.
This is one of my favorite settlements, and you’ve done a fantastic job revitalizing it! Love the scrappy look that actually looks like how a wasteland settler would patch up and furnish the place. Great job overall! 👏👏👏
I’ve been watching people build settlements in FO4 since the game came out, and can firmly say you are probably the single best settlement builder to be around Bethesda games. I even started watching your FO76 and Starfield content and you’re amazing in those too, huge props.
I like the release of this video. Edit: And I loved watching it. As always, it's an amazing display. I'm so jealous of your attention to details. I literally need mods with pre placed props to make my settlements 😭
Dude, you or someone should help you make these builds into mods. I'd love this one in particular as a player home. Id add a little more organization for loot storage, but this one is not too crazy, it looks lived in, and somewhat cozy. You're an artist man. Truly.
I think it's so awesome that people are still making amazing builds like this 10+ years after launch. I remember when FO4 first came out, the settlement building was criticized as being tacked on, but it's honestly my favorite part of the game. Seeing the creative ways people design and decorate builds always makes me want to play again.
Awesome work again Shawzzo, In comparison my original houses in Sanctuary look as though they were built by Super Mutants.....! But after watching your videos I've started building from scratch on spectacle island using all your tips, and there's quite a difference between the two, " I see you have employed a professional builder here on Spectacle Island !"
I like to watch your videos while doing my homework, it’s kinda like unintentional asmr for me, helps me to get my homework done faster. Keep up the good work, love your videos! ❤
You time these videos so perfectly! I was just looking for a creative way to patch the Taffington Boathouse and your roofing solutions are the best and most creative I’ve seen.
If someone is going to spend a lot of time building settlements, its usually a good idea to keep spare gamma guns. They drop the build meter by the most significant margin. Looking forward to when you tackle the National Park Visitor's Center in Far Harbor. That's my favorite settlement and the solutions I've found are all eyesores that look like a slapdash attempt to grow a shack out of a ruined building, which is accurate.
Your videos have inspired me to start playing Fallout 4 again lol. Thanks for the reminder of how great a game it is 😁. Keep up the good work my dude! ❤
@@Shawzzo oh I definitely am. Hadn't played all the most recent collection club stuff with the Enclave and that, so it's even something new for me 😁. Genuinely love your build videos mate, you have a great imagination for it all ✌️
Amazing build as always! Love the idea of making this your personal home. And I’m glad you figured out how to do the roofing without so much rug glitching. There’s actually a way to do it without any rugs but this method doesn’t seem too bad since you only have to line it up perfectly one time. Love the big outdoor fire pit idea!
Your decor is so immersive; that bbq patio is creative haha and the bobblehead stand as a shelf looks good. I read the dead bodies disappear on their own but I have yet to see that too. For the brain fungus downstairs I covered it with an Eat-O-Tronic it’s in decor - wall decor - misc.
Great job, as usual! Just finished fixing up that roof for the third time, now I have to go back and start all over again. I really loved that bed you made with the wooden crates, so cool!
Fair play, I wouldn’t have thought to use the ball track 👌 I did a giant rectangular piece over the top with the loft floor filled in and one square missing with steps up so that the settlers have a loft conversion room. I was pretty happy with it, but this definitely looks better than what I did 😅
great build! i continue to be impressed by your fight against the Creation engine. i had a docu for my fo4 settlements where a lot of the longer names are abbreviated, and Taffington Boathouse was "Taffi Bo". still makes me smile for some reason.
This is really good. I've not seen anyone but myself use those ball tracks to decorate. I've used them as supports to look like they're holding up balconies but your approach is far superior.
After all these years, I finally understood how to move the building pieces (by moving I mean moving away from me or moving closer to me without moving)
Excellent build!! Your eye for details is incredible and you find such creative solutions for patching holes in the unforgiving game engine! I'm so glad you found a better way to do the roof because individually glitching all of the ball tracks seemed so annoying but now I think I'll actually try it out on my own builds! The item at 21:45 is a weed wacker. It's like a detail work version of a lawn mower for the edges of a lawn. :)
Great build! As usual 😎 Not sure if anyone has said this yet but, if the body is gone the Brahmin should be gone, too. Secondly, that tool is a weed whacker. And I’ll never scrap another one. 👍🏾
another great video! i would love to see you tackle Spectre island. Joov did that region lock video talking about the history it would be really neat to incorporate some of that history in the build.
13:25 It's always nice to see the campfire glitch getting introduced to thousands of viewers. 21:37 In the US it's commonly known as a weed eater or a weed whacker or a string trimmer. After a quick google search it looks like it is called a strimmer in the UK and a whipper snapper in Australia. 24:13 I'm not so sure I agree with you. 76 seemed to be a big step backwards in settlement building. I'm guessing 5 will look a lot more like 76 than 4. Nice job on this build. Looking forward to your next one.
I really don't know why they have skimped on 76s camp since the models are the same/compatible nor why they never fix it's bugs but I think 5's build system will be more comparable to Starfield than 76
Although I'm pure vanilla on Xbox, this definitely gave me some good tips/inspiration to tackle my taffington build 💪. But Never use floor boards for ceilings/roofing, your settlers will have navigation issue's & spawn on the roof and get stuck🤣
I don't like asking people to make something, but I really wanted to see an underground bunker in your style. You can use the pillar glitch to sink a crafting station, so you can build under the map. The best one is the cooking stove, because you can hide it better.
Wish i seen this sooner hahaa i just built scaffolding around it to look like i am fixing it and built a watch tower type scrappy look at the top - but i love getting your ideas to improve my builds!
Love your builds but just can't help but think how awesome all these builds would be as a console friendly mod pack settlement overhaul, recreating some of your sanctuary hills building because they're immaculate took quite alot of time as I don't have your gifts 😢😅
@Shawzzo Love the Video... I am struggling to get it right but keep trying - It makes it more awkward that I have already got Taffington Boathouse looking nice... So I am not working there... But the DREADED SOMERVILLE PLACE! Do you have any advice for that place? Ways t make it more workable or at the very least fix the Celling? Unlike Taffington, The Broken Roof Area is pretty much unusable ... Ideally I woudl like to fix teh roof... I know the Taffington idea works to a degree... I started on the smaller of the rooves and while I am still struggling to get teh hang of it - I did manage to get 5 Balltracks nicely in place, Not enough to cover it fully but it at least does work... Where I struggle is lining them up... When you fill in the gaps... LOL! I will crack it... But yeah, honest to god any advice on Somerville Place and making that house at least "Weatherproof" woudl be great! (Doesn't have to be fixing the roof... Christ I have thought of building a bloody shell over it!)
Those respawning bodies are an absolute pain, and none of the suggestions I've seen on line seem to get rid of them permanently. If you ever figure out a way to get rid of those without mods, it would merit a video of its own.
I haven't ever had respawning bodies. I don't know what I did... maybe I carried them off property or got lucky. The blood is annoying, would be nice to be able to cover it with a rug.
@vegastrina I should probably be clearer: these aren't bodies _per se_ , meaning the remains of enemies you've killed. They're more like containers that have been "skinned" to look like bodies. The dead brahmin in this video is a good example, but the most aggravating example is probably the half-a-dozen ghoul "bodies" at Sunshine Tidings Co-op that just. Keep. Appearing. No matter what you do. It's _so_ irritating whenever I run across one of these at a settlement site.
Well, if you want there are fishing mods, but never seen anyone catch any fish. All there is a fishing pole and a chair to fish with. Then there's the fish farm net enclosure, G2m has that fishing stuff and jobs for settlers to process and get fish read for market....it's a cool mod and guess the rest is up to your imagination.
Love these videos, they’ve inspired me to actually build settlements for once in this game. I am enjoying it but am having a shit time getting objects to stay on tables/shelves. Any time I leave and come back they’ve fallen through and onto the floor. Is there any tip to prevent this from happening?
@@Shawzzo there were actually no settlers in the camp, the objects placed on shelves and tables will literally fall through the surface onto the floor, wasn’t sure if you’d ever had that issue before

Fast traveling to the settlement instead of walking does seem to help but it's not 100%. If you do have to walk to a settlement in survival mode I've found walking slowly and allowing the items time to spawn in helps also. Orange Squeasy has mentioned that glitching a rug just under the surface of the table can help as well. There are also mods out there that can make items static.
Fallout House Flipping. Settler gonna show up, say they only have 24 caps and yet their budget is over 1,000. Let's see about opening up this space and breathing new life into the structure.~
