    Hi Jennifer, I recently purchased this per your recommendation and I really like it. It made my skin very smooth and glowy. I will do it every 6 weeks or so since I too use retin a and a 10% glycolic sporadically throughout the month. Great results for an amazing price! You can’t beat it! Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼

    I love doing this, I started after a earlier video you had on about glycolic acid peels!!!! I use the Glytone mini gel peel, the Alpha 14% serum just about every evening. I am thinking about moving up to the 30%. My forehead is tough as well LOL!!! I am going to . purchase the brand from your video in the 30%. The Glytone mini peel is only 10.8 %. At 61 I feel like this along with retin a and good skin care is keeping me vibrant YAY!!! Thank you for sharing :*)

    Yes!!! So glad you mentioned the neutralizer. I’ve been using the peels forever but when I first started using them, I tried rinsing it off with just water. The burn wouldn’t stop. Thank goodness I had baking soda at home! I just poured it in my hand and added water and started rubbing it all over. But I was sort of in a hurry to get it off LOL.

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  2 роки тому +4

      I’m so surprised that the instructions say to just use water. I’ve heard of people using a 30% without neutralizing it, but not 50%! 😳❤️

    • @almostthere2516
      @almostthere2516 2 роки тому +4

      What percentage did you use and what kind of acid? Glycolic acid is the only one that can be neutralized with water, but you need to really pour water on your face. A cotton swab dipped in water won’t do it. You can’t go wrong with baking soda though. Better safe than sorry.

    Your skin looks so fresh and healthy! I've been lazy for a few months with skincare and need to do some at home peels like this. Chemical peels really do make a difference, I'm so glad you did this video to show what you do. Remember Dr Shultz with the derm tv channel? I've started using 10 percent glycolic acid serum, well I'm two weeks in applying 10 percent X3 a week. So 6 applications over 2 weeks. I'd like to step up to 15 or 20 what would you recommend? Or should I start using the 10 percent more frequently first?

With the 30% or 50% acid peel you have to wash it off after 2 or 3 minutes, but with the daily use 1% do you leave that on and NOT wash it off? And is there a difference between what is refered to as peel, serum or lotion?

    I've been looking into getting a peel done professionally at a local med spa to help minimize my melasma mustache and fine lines. I'm finding it is really hard to find a place that will do a plain glycolic peel, and I'm not sure why! I found one place that does it, and they only use 7% strength!!! Most of the med spas I've contacted do a peel that contains a mix of glycolic/salicylic/other acids (Skinmedica and Obagi chemical peels seem to be the popular ones). Problem is, whenever I've used any product with salicylic acid in it, I break out in painful cyst type pimples well past the normal purge time frame. So I'm afraid to get a peel that contains that ingredient. Maybe I could try a TCA peel. I did several 35% glycolic peels at home before, but I didn't see results even though I followed all the steps to a T. That's why I wonder if having a pro do one would be more effective.

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  2 роки тому +3

      I got rid of the melasma with a prescription ointment called Triluma, which combines Retin-A, Hydroquinone, and another ingredient to help with inflammation. It was literally magical the way that it cleared it up! It took a couple of months, and you have to be extremely diligent, but it was so worth it! 😊 It's hard to avoid the sun here in Texas, but again, I just try to stay diligent when it comes to applying sun protection (I prefer zinc products). Especially if I know I'll be out in the sun for extended periods of time. However, if I'm going to do a peel like this, I'll avoid being outside or spending time in the sun for days! ❤️🤗

      My excessive shedding completely stopped a couple of weeks ago. I still have your typical amount of hair shedding, but things are definitely back to normal and I couldn't be happier! My hair is noticeably thinner of course, however I have been trimming it to even up the layers and I've also added some lowlights to create some dimension, so I don't think it looks as bad as it did a few weeks ago. Unfortunately though, I haven't begun seeing much new re-growth just yet. Apparently it can take some time for the re-growth to take place since the cycle was disrupted. I've read it be anywhere fro 3-6 months, but I'm just glad it stopped. 🤣😘

    Wish she’d stay on topic w/50% Glycolic peel info..why the Perfect Image peel doesn’t mention a neutralizing it..

    If you do not defat your skin with 90% alcohol before applying a chemical peel, you are reducing its penetration/efficacy significantly, rendering it far less potent than its listed percentage. Without alcohol prepping, your 50% is probably closer to 25-30%, though untested, no one can be certain. This is a hugely important caveat for people who choose to follow the proper protocol.

      Alcohol is toxic and drying to the skin. I don't know where you are getting your information.

      I did 70 % and it did nothing for my skin for almost 2 years. I believe it the retin-a that is making her skin look young. I used it for 2 years and my skin tuned flawless and my wrinkles when away. I became allergic to it and had to stop using it but the wrinkles never came back for years . Now I am using a moisturizer with glycerine and my wrinkles are beginning to fade. I try someone products in the future.

    Hope she gets to the point ..instructions DONT MENTION Neutralizing it. I just used on my part leg 50% glycolic gel peel wiped it off cold water after 5 minutes. Tiny bit stinging but nothing else..ZERO. Wanted a peel leave ON flake off in a couple days.
    This PEEL IS NOT IT…😢

    The "sizzle" is probably just CO2 being released from the baking soda, like a mini baking soda volcano on your face
