I have very thick, oily and acne-prone skin…and I started with 30% glycolic acid right away. I actually left it on for more than 2mins the first time (I accidentally threw away the package before reading the instructions, sigh), it was closer to 5mins. My skin was stinging and slightly reddened with the acid on, but it wasn’t too bad, and went away after I washed my face. My face felt so, so smooth afterwards. I’m doing it once a week to lighten a few hyperpigmentated acne marks.
thank you so much! my dermatologist suggested this procedure for me and many people told me it’s not worth it, it hurts etc. but it doesn’t seem too scary, thanks a lot.
@@SashellWisdom-t6y yes i went for 2 sessions but honestly it looked good just for a month or two later on my skin just came back to the way it was… also i’m not gonna do it again. i don’t think it was worth it for me personally

I have the droplet glycolic acid gel peel 50% how many drops do I use ? After I apply the acid and wait 2-3 mins do I apply the neutralizer and wash it off or wash it off then apply neutralizer? PLEASE LET NE KNOW
This is not what I imagined a chemical peel would be when I read ACID peel!! Seems too good to be true considering how simple it is and how it has multiple effects! Really cool. Are you allowed to wash your face after the treatment? And how soon would I be able to go out in the sun after a treatment?
The doctor neutralizes the glycolic acid for you, otherwise it keeps working. So you can wash your face again before going to bed. We recommend sunscreen and hats for the next couple of day ( and generally since you want to avoid UV radiation damage). But there are no restrictions, you can return to regular activities right away! This is the "lunch time peel" with no true downtime!
Hello, can I use the lactic acid cream (10% lactic acid) after this type of chemical peel with glycolic acid? Wouldn’t it be irritating for my skin? Thank you so much.
Hi doctor i have pigememtation created over many years how long this peel take to fade it and what is the concentration of superficial, medium, deep peels , it contains only glycolic or other actives
I will need to know more about your skin condition and skin tone to be able to recommend the proper depth of chemical peel. Generally it’s safer to start with a superficial peel for skin of color to see how it reacts
Acne scarring is tough, actually one of the toughest problems we treat. So it depends, if the scars are superficial, you should see results after 1-2 treatments. But usually these scars are deeper, needing treatments such as microneedling, CO2 lasers, stronger acids (must be done by a professional only) or subscison (lifting the base of the scar with a needle).
I have been getting light Chemical peels for 20 years, and yesterday for some reason on both sides of my face I could not feel the heat from the acid, not at all, on my forehead and about my lip I could feel the burn, Nothing on both sides of face? What would cause this?
How do you patch test glycolic peel ? I mean I know how to but I wasn’t told at the academy where I trained , do I need to remove it there and then or does the client wait 24 hours ? Does the client wash it off or do i while performing it ?
You apply a small amount in a hidden area like under the jaw and you observe them for reactions. I would reevaluate after about three days to make sure there’s no delayed reaction
She also said that I undermined her just because I was curious as I have been taught different . A friend and a family member who have had dermaplaining without the peel said that they thought it was harsh to the skin .
Only one coat. It was the first time that this patient received a peel, and I start very conservative with everyone, to make sure they don’t have a negative outcome.
@@dranishanajeeb The glycolic acid peel is the only one that you have to neutralize in about five minutes or less if the patient cannot tolerate it, the rest of the peels you leave them on,
I love that she was right to the point but gave detailed answers about how it works.

How many times would you need to do a chemical peel before noticing a major difference with acne scarring?
Acne scarring is tough, actually one of the toughest problems we treat. So it depends, if the scars are superficial, you should see results after 1-2 treatments. But usually these scars are deeper, needing treatments such as microneedling, CO2 lasers, stronger acids (must be done by a professional only) or subscison (lifting the base of the scar with a needle).

How long u leave the neutralizer on face? And after being neutralized, need to wash? Thanks Dr
The neutralizer is applied and wiped off. Its goal is simply to remove the acid. No need to wash after. A gentle moisturizer is applied after.
The neutralizer it’s just on for a minute and then you wash it off
