FIXED: Honda EU 3000is only runs on CHOKES - Here's How to Fix It

- Note this might not work for you but I 90% sure if you have a Honda Eu3000is or any Honda inverter generator not running right it is going to be in the Carburetor. check the gaskets check the piolet jet check the whole carb. I hope this video helps you get your Honda running again.

Beware do not use carb cleaner until you have the secondary jet out. There is two o rings that will turn to black tar like looking. I took the first one out and sprayed in it. Also before you remove the bottom bowl use a sharpie and mark the bowl and housing so when you reinstall it lines up....I had it all back together to discover it was 180° off.

That is pretty quiet. That would be a easy fix if it was only that 11mm bolt. Man you always get them carburetors out fast. I have the same problem always have phillips screwdrivers and can never find a flathead. That was weird when it did it again then it was fine. Nice job Andrew.

Flush the peepee out of it. I also saw there is a small filter in the bottom of the tank.. haven't gotten that far yet.. You can use the same gallon or so of new fuel, shake rattle n roll!. in between flushes, perhaps some carburetor cleaner or other solvent into yet another container,.. just don't re-use that fuel in that or other small engine tank again.. that should teach us to fire it every month under a load and remain on schedule with the maintenance!

Then cleaning out the carburetor and the pilot jet should help that problem
Same here. I would clean the carb and it would last a couple of months. Ended up buying a whole new carb.

Didn't need to do all that. Just start with cleaning the pilot (no disassembly) and then dig deeper if needed.
You can check the needle valve by draining bowl.

Actually the engine is not getting too much air when it is not running off choke, it is not getting enough fuel. The choke creates a small vacuum behind and allows the engine to suck more fuel out of the jet. Usually if your engine does not run off choke the jet is partially clogged.
Should have pulled the arrester cage out of the exhaust I bet it's filthy and nearly clogged..
That's how my 3000 run, choke half out only or stall out. Brand new unit. Carb shouldn't be dirty. Your expertise getting carb off beyond my skill level. Take it to the shop I guess. You did confirm it's an air mixture problem. Thanks

I think he confirmed that paint chips might fix your generator, that's about it.
