ESPECIALLY AFTER SHANE TRIED TO KILL HIM!!!!! That tramp could kiss my entire ass!!
I think Shane had one goal: to end the night with the man who is willing to kill his best friend in order to keep the people he loves safe, no matter who that man would be. I honestly believe that he knew it could go either way and that there was a chance he wouldn't make it out alive.
He realized that in order to keep those you love safe, you have to be willing to eliminate ANY threat....even if it's your best friend that you love. Shane threatened Rick's life several times, and he knew that either he had to kill Rick so he could keep Carl and Lori alive or Rick would finally step up and make a devastating decision and prove that he would do anything for his family. One of them wasn't going to survive, and it just so happens Rick came out on top.
I have to wonder if Shane wanted it to turn out that way. He knew that Lori and Carl would always choose Rick.....so maybe it was his plan all along to force Rick to fight for his family and become that man that will do anything for them. I think that's all Shane wanted....for Lori and Carl to have a protector at any cost. At least he died knowing that Rick was capable of making tough calls and that he did have what it takes after all.
She was angry because Carl saw it and shot Shane after he turned. But it's kinda her fault Carl was there in the first place so she's still being a bitch

Gotta give props to Daryl and Hershel. They were the only ones that verbally stood by Rick's leadership.
Daryl was always on Rick's side after he went back to get Merle, and Herschel realized Rick knows what the fuck he's talking about lol. Glenn is lowkey with him for now, but he's more reserved.

people try so hard to interpret that scene in the worst possible way for lori and have been since it aired over a decade ago, its impressive. she hardly had a reaction when rick said he killed shane, just a little bit of shock that he actually did it. what shes angry about is that carl put him down. to give her credit, she has no idea how the events actually played out, she has no idea that he saved ricks life in doing so. all she hears is that he killed shane and then carl killed him as a walker and that upsets her, and shes probably imagining an ENTIRELY different scenario where rick probably could have stopped carl from having to do that. she must be going through a lot imagining how much this will psychologically damage carl (which it does). she probably is also somewhat angry at herself for putting the idea in ricks head and not keeping an eye on carl, and in her rush of intense emotions she reacts by rejecting rick in that moment.
its honestly really fucking obvious that shes not mad at rick for killing shane. again, she only gets upset as soon as rick says carl put him down. before that, she was not angry at him.

And that is how the Ricktatorship was born. It wasn't because he killed SHane per se, it wasn't because members of the group were mad at him, it was because Lori had the nerve to get an attitude. Rick told Lori that he can take crap from everyone else, but not her.

It's really hard for me to believe anyone likes Lori's character. The etirety of the show thus far is summed up as "Mad at shane, mad at rick, or mad at herself."
She's like the spoiled kid. Literally has no character development, because she is the bride of the great king Rick Grimes, and doesn't have to do anything else, but play the housewife, a role that doesn't even really matter in their situation. Doesn't have to get her hands dirty. Doesn't have to face the real world problems they are having. No real decisions, just opinions of others. The one time she was out alone, she messed that up. Everyone protects her. She's just a pot stirrer.
I bet the same people who like Skylar from Breaking Bad will find away to like Lori & Blame Rick for why Lori was a horrible person 🤦♀️

Lori didn't react that badly until Rick said Carl put Shane down. Also, yeah, Lori knows she caused some of the tension. She's mad at herself for letting it all get so out of hand. On top of that, I really think Rick changing and becoming what he needs to be to survive in this new world is scaring her. He's, in some manner, not the husband she used to know, and having to accept that reality would be difficult for anyone. For Lori too, the realization that she in her mind may have had a hand in Shane's death is shocking to her.
Daryl wasn't willing to "leave anyone behind". He was literally sitting there on his motorcycle watching the farm before he left. If anyone else needed his help, he would've helped them. He's also the one who followed after Glenn and that brought them all back together. If not for Daryl, the whole group might not have been together again.

According to Glen Mazzara, who wrote it, he said that Lori was horrified that the man she loved, killed the other man she loved. And she projected her own self-hatred onto Rick. In other words, she was horrified and hated herself for unintentionally being the catalyst for it, but she couldn't deal with feeling responsible for such a devastating outcome, so mentally, she shifted the blame to Rick.

It's also complicated because Lori wasn't there. She didn't see Rick with his back turned to Shane (thus Carl did it, and tbh Carl was probably pretty speechless at first when he saw it. He looked like he was). Also, to be totally fair to Lori here, Rick wasn't exactly making himself sound like a victim. The way he explained it sounded like he was just glad to have Shane dead and gone. It upsets me to see Rick explain it that way because it was shocking enough for Lori, but in a way she might be scared she's lost her old husband. That he's becoming just like Shane, who she was /already/ terrified of enough to /warn/ Rick about him. She doesn't want him OR Carl turning into that, and the way Rick describes it literally sounds like something Shane would have done. He doesn't seem at all concerned that Carl had to do that, either. Even if he finally came out with it LATER, /this/ conversation wasn't later. The way she holds Carl when he cries about Shane looks more to me like she's grieving the loss of her husband's humanity and worried about what will happen with their son if Rick becomes like that.
I think Lori feels partly responsible for Rick becoming what he has here, and in that sense her anger looks like she's taking it out on Rick, but I think ultimately she's scared of him and disgusted with herself. Her intentions earlier with trying to make things better with Shane were good, but Lori doesn't know when to stop and back off. She feels badly about it and wants that feeling gone, which I can totally understand. It's just that she pushed too many times to make things okay again. It was an innocent, honest mistake, but the damage that was done because of that is something she probably can't forgive herself for. Both Lori and Rick messed up at the end of this episode and their inability to properly communicate is no doubt what caused a rift in their marriage in the first place. Now with the world gone to shit like this, that lack of communication is even worse of a problem. When they finally screamed at each other earlier in the season, things actually got /better/ between them because they finally talked it out and let everything out. Now that they're not doing that again, it's tense again.
I miss the old TWD. You guys are gonna love it. shit only gets better and better for about the next 3 seasons! Also, the hatred for Lori continues to grow LOL

Lori's mad because she knows she's to blame for Shane's death. And she doesn't want to accept the fact that Rick isn't as squeaky clean as he used to be. Lori and Shane don't belong together.They are both too needy. They're basically the same person and they only think about themselves. That is not the basis for a good relationship. Lori and Rick worked because she could rely on him. The reason why Lori is horrified now is because Rick always used to be spotless, and it's kind of her fault that he isn't anymore.

The people defending Lori talking about she was really upset about Carl, yeah but who was supposed to be watching him? Yes both parents are responsible for the children but if one is off working for the betterment of the whole family than the one not working has the responsibility in that moment to watch the kids. Rick was doing what he needed to do to keep them all safe, while doing that, it was Lori's responsibility to watch their child because Rick couldn't do both. Nothing Lori was doing at the moment prevented her from keeping an eye on her son as well. A simple "Hey Carl come sit in this room with me while I do this," was all that was needed in Lori's situation.

I do hate Lori and I do hate her reaction to Rick... but in her defense, her husband killing the guy is a BIG deal. They've been killing dead people and maybe someone who they either didn't know well or enemies. But killing one of your own? It makes it sound like Rick's gone crazy.
The news about them all carrying the infection is scary because they don't know what all it means, but also they now know that IF someone does die for any reason, they are a threat unless you shoot or stab them in the head. Like if someone dies of pneumonia in the middle of the night, they can turn without anyone knowing. If they hadn't put Dale out of his misery, he would have come back as a walker because he was bit and scratched. They knew about it because they saw and heard it. But imagine if they don't see or hear someone near them die for some reason? OR if it's like Shane, and you kill someone and then let your guard down and they come back behind your back? Lastly, it's scary to know that you're already infected with something at all. And Rick never told them the entire time. It's a big deal.
Lastly, what you mean you don't hit women? That rule never made sense in the civilized world but we just got through saying they're not a civilized world anymore!
PS: Why do we keep asking why T-Dog's name is T-Dog after so many people have already said why? Were these reactions even up to this point recorded before anyone ever started explaining it? Cuz I've been seeing people explain it for a minute. haha

No, Lori put is in his head if you remember, her saying to Rick, Shane's dangerous, Shane thinks I'm his, Shane thinks the baby is his, Shane thinks Rick can't protect us. She said all of that to Rick to make sure Rick goes after Shane to get rid of him and now when he does, she's upset.
@@Dennis_K09 That's a bit of a stretch. None of that translates to "Kill Shane". If anything, that sounds like her asking him to confront Shane, kick Shane from the group, or protect her. Not fucking MURDER. This is the first time she really knows of him just killing someone she knows.
