Andrew Lincoln should have won an Emmy for this episode. His best acting, seeing Rick go from defiant to just beaten down emotionally and physically and finally being submissive to Negan is so heartbreaking to watch
Yea, that's honestly what made this episode the most heartbreaking. The deaths were hard, but the mental break that Rick went through was harder to watch.
This whole episode had phenomenal acting especially Lauren Cohan and Andrew Lincoln.

After Glenn gets hit, most all the reactors vocalize how Daryl will definitely feel guilty for Glenn's death. That's an example of good character development and character work in the past 6 seasons. We already understand these people in & out so that they're like family. "He's our family too." Sorry for all the trauma. Great reaction!
I remenber the period everyone blamed Daryl for Glenn's death even if it was absolutely not his fault, he tried to defend Rosita I was so mad at fans it's typical from people to put the blame on wrong people. Negan is the only responsible of these crimes rick's group did everything to protect themselves.

Negan uses psychological warfare against every one. What a villain. Great acting from JDM, Rick and Maggie. Everyone really did so good.

What I always have to remember is it's a fictional show, Steven Yeun is alive and doing very well, especially since leaving the show, he's had a lot of success after TWD.
That always makes me feel better.

Wow, this reaction was just as heart wrenching to watch as the episode. All the hugs to you ladies! 🤗 I still can't look when Abraham or Glenn are onscreen, and I'm even more eager for the next episode, a very much needed breather, as well as all of your views on the ones that follow. I kinda thought that the episode with Glenn and Nick may have been a way to mitigate the pain of this one.

This episode was a gut wrench for me, but I thought it was brilliantly done. It was the kind of horror we don't see in usual TV stuff and I really enjoyed it even though I was devastated by Glen and Abrahams deaths. (I avoided all spoilers that were going around at the time until my son told me that Glen died just before I watched the episode myself.)
After rewatching the series several times I noticed that Abraham "offered" himself to Negan to save his family. The first time he is seen kneeling, he raises himself up slightly (making himself appear more noticable and when Negan is pointing the bat at the group Abe nods very slightly. He could see what was coming. It does feel like a pointless death but he went out a real hero in my book. Negan HAD to eliminate Abe, he would have been too much of a threat otherwise.) Well done Kim for guessing. The next couple of seasons will be very interesting to watch what you guys think.

My brother was a day 1 watcher and he quit the show after this episode. Never to return. I came in on season 4, and continued til the end. I’m so glad you are reacting!👏🏾

This was the most watched episode in the history of television with the most anticipation and twist ever!! I still remember having my friends over to watch it at my parents house and everyone grinding their teeth😅😅🥹 ahhh good times after the episode we played some Black Ops 2 multiplayer and jt was just perfect

When I first watched this episode I thought Daryl was gonna be the victim but seeing both Abraham and Glenn go was a shock

Everyone who begins watching this show and can't wait to watch the next episode should heed Dr. Jenner's warning. I binge watched the series last year and debated whether or not to watch this episode when it arrived. I decided to skip it - I wasn't in a head space to watch that level of brutality and I already knew the outcome as it was a big pop culture moment when it first aired. I have since watched the episode in its entirety and it was just as heartbreaking as I knew it would be.
Negan is my favourite character even after this. He's got such a good arc after it.

I was fairly confident that Abraham died, for the exact same reasons mentioned- the number of hits and the "taking it like a champ". But for people like me who didn't read the comics, Glenn was a shock.
Glenn was only shocking to those who didn't read the comics, Half the fans weren't shocked. I wasn't.

As a longtime fan of the comics, even I was shocked by Glenn's death. I didn't think the show would be bold enough to kill two characters at once in such a brutal fashion (Negan only killed Glenn in the comics), but they sure proved me wrong. Well done, show.
It's kinda sad how many "fans" jumped ship after this episode. In storytelling you do what's best for the story and this was what was best. This is the inciting incident for so much story and character development. It's good it happened to characters people cared about and was viseral enough to really matter. Not to mention, everyone brings their A game to this episode.

@@Mr.YasQueen maybe it makes sense to drop a show at the end of a season if you feel it’s not doing anything to you, but stop watching something cause a character dies, to me is nonsense… it hurts sure, and some things don’t feel the same, but if the story is good I would never stop watching
@@Vale9118 It's not about Carl dying, it's that they aren't even adapting the comic book accurately anymore, and a lot of the time when they make a change it's for the worse, not better. The comic books had Carl live till the end, him representing Rick doing everything so his child can live, the TV show kind of took a crap on that legacy, but also in general there are a lot of issues with the writing, pacing, etc. Same with Fear The Walking Dead.
@@Mr.YasQueen the show changed many many things from the comics since day one. Daryl doesn’t even exist in the comics and it’s the most loved character, Carol is still alive, Judith too (I won’t spoiler what happens later cause they might see the comment, but the show is now over so it’s all said and done).
Not all changes were bad, some definitely were mistakes in terms of potential storylines, but dropping a show only for one bad event to me, as I said, it’s a bit much
I’ve been waiting for this episode since you all started this series. It is genuinely one of the most tragic and brutal episodes of anything I’ve ever seen. Kudos to mom and Kim for making it through this episode and for sticking through this far. Brighter days are ahead!
A really hard episode to watch. I'm still thankful that i watched the slightly more censored version of the episode, because when it came out in the UK, they synchronised the airing with the US, so 4am in the UK, but i got to see the later show on the Monday night. Still shocked me so much, i had to take time out after just to gather my thoughts. Brutal.
I know people hated the show because they killed Glenn but let's be honest.... It happened in the comics and was bound to happen sooner or later. Even Steven Yeun wanted them to stick true to his character's ending. Maggie's character grew as a result since she was on her own and it showed that they're much bigger threats out there that Rick's group haven't faced yet that can do a lot more damage than the Governor ever did. Negan had them broken for the majority of this season.
Doesn't mean they shouldve done it it killed the show killing them both in horrific ways it was like watching snuff porn they didn't deserve to be killed that way
@@itzbp9949 It's a show based on a zombie apocalypse. It's going to be as real and brutal as it gets. It always has been since day one. If it was on HBO instead of AMC it would've been 5 times worse. Just because it happened to a likeable character doesn't make it any different. Just because people liked Glenn doesn't mean he should be immune from dying like everyone else. If they stuck to the comics 100% then the majority of these characters who survived would've been dead way back in the Prison arc. This show has held back a lot in comparison to the source material. The one time they don't and do this then people got angry. In this show we've seen characters get ripped apart and eaten like Noah but seeing Glenn get beat was snuff porn? 🤷
Yeah it was they took it way too far with his death it was absolutely disgusting it was wrong what they did okay if he had died some other way fine but the way they did it was so disgusting

I know people love glenn but his death was in a way something twd needed - fresh start and to remember people that anyone can die no matter how beloved they are. Also it gave so much for the future story (maggie, negan and rick's group as a whole)
And its not like I hate them or something, my fav character was abraham and I still would love to see him till the end (instead of fucking eugene for example)

One of the hardest parts for me was looking into Rick’s eyes at the end Andrew Lincoln is a phenomenal actor I felt every inch of the Fear hate shame loss anger and Great sadness over his loss.

9:53 i'd like to think Negan saying "You bunch of pussies. I'm just getting started" was actually him breaking the fourth wall and talking to the audience crying over Glenn. Everyone really wanted to know who Megan killed after the end of last season. Probably shouldve been careful what they wished for
Rick just got way too confident to the point where he stopped being as cautious. If he was still in his Season 5 survival form, he never would've went to that outpost.

7 Seasons at Rick’s side and Glenn never killed a human When he committed his first murder which couldn’t be more insidious (stabbed the survivor in his sleep) his fate was sealed Photos of mashed heads were already hanging over the murdered man.

In the minority here but Rick and the group did start this, they entered the saviors compounds and killed them in their sleep in cold blood. I agree negan was ruthless, but so was Rick and the group, and Rick and the group did it first.

Not that I hate the series, truly I loved it, but once Glenn died, my whole family stopped watching the show, it was one of the craziest tv deaths I’ve ever watched to this day

Rip Glenn and Abraham, I wished Shane, Andrea, T Dog, Dale, Merle, Milton, Guillermo, Felipe, Miguel, Jorge, Beth, Axel, Oscar, Tyrese and Nicholas were alive to save Glenn
Let's not forget that Rick and his group murdered Neagan's people in their sleep. Without even knowing him and his group. They took on an assassination mission in order to be able to do business with a group they didn't know much better. Rick's group killed a lot of people. Neagan only 2 in return.

You can add Aaron too with the group that picks up Glenn. They all grabbed a limb. Rick,Carl arms and Michonne, Aaron legs. And with Abe it was Rosita and Sasha arms and Eugene legs.

Comic Comparisons: In the comics Glenn is the only death The RV trip with Rick and the threat of having Rick cut off Carl’s arm doesn’t happen in the comics Negan kills Glenn and then walks off in the same way he does here Ta ta Line for line the Lucille moment was the same Taking it like a champ Lucille is a vampire bat I just hit you so goddamn hard your eyeball just popped out And it is gross as shit Negan’s time has only just begun.
Fun Fact: The title for this episode is the same thing Jenner told him at the CDC back on the Season 1 finale when Rick told him he was grateful that Jenner was letting them go That day has come now.

Certain characters stories will end on TWD and continue on FTWD, when they are spun off into the spin-off series.
It's a prequel to the Zombie Apocalypse.
In episode 1x01 of TWD Rick awakes from his coma on day 59 of the Apocalypse.
Rick wouldn't even be waking up in another state on TWD until the middle of SE3 of FTWD.
It is 8 seasons and 113 episodes.
If you can't manage both at the same time how about doing a season of reactions for TWD, then FTWD then TWD then FTWD like how the series originally aired on AMC.
Many fans stopped watching this show, after this brutal episode. Hang in there and stay to the end of the series.

I honestly don't think those people should have been watching this show in the first place. If gratuitous violence bothers them that much, a series about the world being overrun by flesh eating monsters and people brutalizing each other to survive might not be for them. Plus, if those same people really thought this episode was too violent, they would probably have a heart attack if they ever read the source material.
Daryl's fault glenn died, abe was going to be the only one. But daryl had to punch negan.

This was easily the last great episode of the show, here's Negan is the only one that beats it
I hated seeing Glenn and Abe died. But they deserved far worse then they got. Negan killed 2 people for the 30+ Ricks group murdered. If we were watching from Negans group POV the whole time, everyone would have been cheering for Glenn and Abes death. Negan is the GOAT. Negan should have killed more.
