Kim telling Lori to "Shut up, Hunny" while she was yelling for Carl literally had me on the floor laughing lol. She told her to shut up but was still graceful about it xD.
And yet again Laurie shows why she is just such a likable character so far from being annoying and selfish at all! I mean she never once has done anything stupid nor has treated anyone badly. Yep definitely no sarcasm here lol.
I remeber being actually offended at Lori's reaction. But now I feel it was more towards what Carl did. Watching Storm react to her family reacting to twd is the funniest shit ever. Love it.
About the Lori scene this is my take on the subject based on the scene alone and also one interview Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori’s actress) did way back when S2 ended. Lori isn’t actually mad at Rick when Rick says he killed Shane she’s kinda shocked and you know kinda sad after all Shane did matter to her and to Rick as well when Rick says he wanted to kill Shane she’s scared that he may be turning into the new Shane (and that final scene with the beginning of the Ricktatorship didn’t help it either) But what really destroys her is to learn that Carl was the one to put him down she’s blaming both herself and Rick for not being able to protect Carl from the horrors of this new world we can clearly see how much Carl is changing and now he had to kill someone who meant a lot to him at that moment she’s feeling so many things and she can’t process it she doesn’t want anyone touching her or talking to her she just need a moment to herself so she can take a breath and process everything. You can see it all in the facial and corporal expressions of Lori you can see she’s still close to Rick and absorbing all the information that Rick is giving to her I killed him/ I wanted to kill him however that bigger reaction only happens after Rick says Carl put him down you can see that’s when she goes away and don’t want Rick to touch her she wasn’t scared or angry at him she just needed a moment to take a breath and process everything.
you can tell Lori definitely felt some type a way that Rick killed Shane, I feel like as much as she denied it she actually did have some sort of feelings for him. The last time they spoke she did infact confirm this. One thing about Shane is she always knew that he would do anything and everything to keep herself and Karl safe even if it meant being selfish, whereas Rick would always look out for everyone in the groups interest because hes selfless but in doing it could lead to the deaths of Lori and Karl. I feel like deep down she actually liked Shane.
That's completely wrong , She was distraught that carl killed , she didn't want her son to kill , like any normal mother, you whole explanation is wrong
I love Rick, and I get why he didn't want to tell anyone. That's not an easy thing to have to tell the others. But I always felt he was wrong not to tell them. What if Beth had succeeded in killing herself when she cut her wrist? Rick and Glenn were in town with Hershel, away from the farm, so Rick wasn't there to warn them that Beth would turn or stop her from turning. Other people in the group could have been bitten and died as a result. Lots of great thoughts from all of you. Love your reactions and how invested your are in the characters! Can't wait for Season 3!
Lori pissed me off treating Rick like that because he killed Shane. She planted that seed in Rick's mind in episode 9 saying how shane thought the baby was his and that he and lori should be together and then she gets pissed when Rick actually does killed Shane.
She pissed me off as well and I didn't like her much after that it's like one episode she wants Rick to do one thing then the next she wants him to do the opposite
I watched this when it aired and I still don't understand Lori's reaction. The only thing that I can come up with is that it was just a moment of bad writing, ‘cause they needed to set up some drama for the next season.
I think this season is a great of example of what the story is supposed to be like as opposed to what it looks like. I think the story is supposed to portray Shane as the bad guy, and Rick and Lori as the good guys. However people watching see it as more of a morally grey area, and tend to side with Shane as opposed to Lori. They see Rick as more of a Puppet in Lori's plot. I don't think the intention of the writers was to make Lori looks so bad, based on comments they said. In this moment they even stated that Lori was upset at Carl killing Shane because his innocence is gone, and it had nothing to do with Shane being dead. However many see it as if she cared for Shane more so then Rick. Their are other comments they said that show it from a different point of view.
How Lori reacted to Rick was normal. She didn't blame Rick for Shane's death, but was shocked that it was Carl who killed him and not Rick. That was the reason why she reacted that way. Rick should do it and not her son. Shane was like a father to him and he shouldn't go through that.
Rick didn’t have the time to realize Shane was already a walker behind him, he thought Carl wanted to shoot him cause he saw his father with blood and a body on the ground… Lori herself will regret reacting like that, so no, that wasn’t her best reaction
@@Vale9118 She was only concerned that Carl had done it. Nothing else. That Shane was dead was fine with her. Only when she heard that Carl did it she freaked out. And one can see that. How what came about was completely irrelevant. Lori didn't even want Carl to own a gun. She had to be persuaded. And the first person he shoots was his foster father. That was the point. Not that Shane was dead.
@@tylerjackson1806 Because under no circumstances should her son do it. It doesn't matter if Shane was a zombie or not. Carl should not be responsible for Shane's death in any way. This goes to the psyche, as you can see later in Carl's development. She wanted to protect him from that. And since no one but Rick was there except Carl, he gets the blame. It's absolutely logical. What's so hard to understand about it?
@@TomTomson81 I get what you're saying, but Lori could have asked Rick why Carl had to shoot him instead of reacting like the father of his child asked the boy to do it, when of course it wasn't like this. In that world you can be a protective mother, but you also have to teach your son to protect themselves. If it wasn't for Carl's cold blood Rick would have been bit by walker Shane.
Classic misunderstanding. She wasn't mad at Rick because Shane was dead, but shocked because Carl did. After all, Shane was Carl's best friend and father substitute. That was the reason and that is understandable. Rick should do it and not her son.

@@tylerjackson1806 None of this has anything to do with the fact that Lori never wanted Carl Shane to shoot. What do you want with all this but this? None of this matters at all.
@@TomTomson81 Jesus Christ… it’s like I’m talking to a brick wall. It’s more Lori’s fault that Carl shot Shane than Rick’s because she was the one that was with him at the house and yet again she lost him. So the fact that she pushed Rick and looked at him with disgust doesn’t make any sense because the person she should’ve been mad at is herself. Yes I’m well aware of how the writers intended it to be and the actress says she was more upset at herself but it was not executed well. Because it looks like she’s just pissed at Rick. She pushes him away and looks at him like a monster and continues to ignore him later that night around the campfire when he eventually goes off on everyone.
So there are a few notes that I made in regards to this episode. First being that I find Lori's reaction to Rick telling her about killing Shane is extremely stupid and unfair to Rick. Immediately after Rick's return to her she hated and distrusted Shane for lying that Rick was dead. I understand Shane saying Rick was dead, because of the soldiers killing the living, let alone tbr dead eating the living. The only thing stopping either was a bed Shane put in front of the door. Mind you Dale mentioning to Lori that he believes Shane was dangerous towards the rest of the group. She even told Rick herself that Shane wanted Lori, that he wished Rick was dead, that he wanted Carl and his unborn child to be his. Second being the reactions as to Rick not telling the group about that it doesn't matter how you die you'll still turn. He had a very good reason as to why, like first off he had no proof that was the CDC Scientist said was true, and two what would everyone do with that? Like it doesn't matter how long you survive it seems to be for nothing? Just like you mentioned people could become suicidal. Beth was already suicidal, and Carol lost her daughter, it could have caused her to give up. Darryl isn't the one to give in, but he lost his brother or assumes his brother is gone, and nearly died looking for Sophia who was dead in the barn all along. I think it felt unfair towards Rick all in all, like yeah maybe he should have told the group, but again what would they do eith that?
Love this episode, one of my favorites! The farm is gone, so freakin sad cause it was so great and peaceful and full of food. This isn't a democracy anymore! Rick is so cool. Welcome to the Ricktatorship! Rick is badass and hes the one to lead this group, weather he wants to or not. He killed Shane cause it was him or Rick. Who is the katana wielding stranger helping Andrea? Crazy episode!!!
I think Lori reacted badly because she knew it was her fault. She would always take her guilt out on Rick. If Lori hadn't told Rick to kill Shane and messed with Shane's head, this wouldn't have happened. That being said, it was only a matter of time before someone killed Shane. But Lori basically guaranteed that it was Rick who would have to do it.
