Why it's so hard to build muscle as we are aging?

- The immune system as we get older, produce less satellite cells so they can't repair as much tissu as before.
That's probably why we call it ''aging''

As we age, testosteron levels are slowly declining and our bodies ability for systhesizing protein goes down as well.
That's our way of life and we can't change that, we can only makes it less ''worse'' by sleeping enough, stress management, working out regulary, eating well and taking care of our mind/body in general.
Being fat too. That creates inflamation which stresses the immune system. I'm nearly 48 now and have quit bulking. I find putting on just a bit of excess fat stresses my immune system and I just feel crap and make no gains
yea, the older you get, the less we “need” to in a caloric surplus
The way I see it: Once you get ENOUGH of a stimulus you have set the stage from growth (between MEV and MRV or whatever proxy for stimulus the kewl kids use these days). But HOW MUCH lbm (include water fluids etc) your body can gain from the same stimulus depends on too many factors (age, hormones, telomere, PED, caloric surplus/deficit, etc etc etc) you basically need at least a small surplus to gain any size whatsoever from the same stimulus but obviously less of the eight gained is going to be muscle as you get older so morewill be fat.
The issue now is, the non LBM gains (fat) will cause other issues. Also the MTOR elevation could also potentially cause problems as you get into your twilight years. So at some point, YES if you do what it takes, you can still gain muscle but at what cost.
Lesson: build as much size as you can while still young. Know when to stop the push for more size and be happy with 70-80% of your peak size when you are legitimately old.
Would love to hear what hes gonna say next about designing a program for older folks
Hmm so lots of oysters/zinc and high vitamin c fruits as well as dry fasting sometimes would greatly improve immune system and increase/ renew stem cells.
Fantastic! I'm 37 and just had to start a long-term, immunosuppressing medication the other week. 😭
Useful discussion for me, thank you. 79 (not my age lol)
Interesting
I don't know but .. I'm 53 and I just cleaned my first 315 bench 1 RM x twice... but no Im not gaining as much as I want.. Pump doesn't stay as long either.. but I'm glad to say that strength is still there.. and no NO GEAR for me.. I don't touch that stuff. First too expensive and second scares the crap outta me... Just feel great to push heavy..but should lean down now.. cause 240lbs is heavy at 53 ...but its not easy...
So, if it is largely an issue of declined Human Growth Hormone levels, supplementing with Arginine and Coconut Oil during the day and GABA at night should at least potentially spike it back to "normalish" levels, no?
It’s not only GH and these supplements are far from being effective at truly increasing GH, especially in an older population
@@THIBARMY So then supplement with HGH?
Algorithm brudda
so... take growth?
what about neurotype training ? no,new videos .. no new information ?
I do not like putting in effort into the gym, and receiving no benefit. I wish that I could build more muscle; but I can't. No amount of effort will pay off.
