Outstanding! This is truly the best video I have ever seen of my favorite City... Edinburgh. I just love Edinburgh & think it is the most beautiful & captivating City anywhere. You have shared here quite a number of wonderful places I had never seen before in Edinburgh. As well as, captured the beauty & essence of this wonderful City in your footage. As well as, provided much more footage & information on other wonderful places which I have seen before. That made this experience even more enjoyable. I also loved your brief wee visit to the Highlands, which was also very beautiful & informative as well. Your filming & footage here, along with your Commentary, was excellent & very Professional. Thank you for sharing this delightful & fascinating experience in magical Edinburgh & the bonnie Highlands of Scotland! Blessings to you!
I watch a lot of Edinburgh visitor vlogs - yours was exceptional and gave a great feel of the real Edinburgh for visitors, it does need at least 7 days! Thank you for sharing with us.
I've been to Edinburgh many times and know those streets and places well but, having seen many, many blogs about this beautiful city, I have to say this is one of the best, most informative videos I have ever seen. Well presented and easy on the eye, excellent work.
Thank you…. That was by far the best tour of Edinburgh I have seen on UA-cam , you gave great insight into the city ….with your lovely calm voice no messing attitude you cover a lot! Thank you Breda ….I will visit soon
Thank you very much for this kind comment. It means a lot to me 😊 Edinburgh is my favorite city. I will go back this October. If you have any questions, please let me know
As you might know, just a few minutes' walk from Circus Lane is Saxe Coburg Place, which has steps at its far end leading down to Glenogle Road, which has a series of short streets lined with cottages that terminate at the Water of Leith (also accessible via St. Bernard's Row, right next to Hector's Restaurant near the Stockbridge bridge, or via the Water of Leith Walkway, stairs to which are at one side of the bridge, by Franco Manca Pizza). Residents of the lower levels on Glenogle Road enter from one side, upstairs residents from the other, so each has their own garden and need never see their neighbour. There is also the large red brick Glenogle Baths, which has one of the few smokestacks still standing in the city. From here it is only a few minutes to the fabulous Royal Botanic Garden. For anyone visiting Stockbridge there are also some great independent shops and numerous places to eat on both sides of the bridge. On a fab day, a stroll from the Gallery of Modern Art (Belford Road, there are two galleries across the street from each other) to Belford Bridge, then take the stairs down to the Water of Leith and walk along to Dean Village, then to Stockbridge for lunch before having a look (including on St. Stephen Street) before experiencing Glenogle Road and the Botanic Gardens is truly a life worth living. Cheers.
Around Edinburgh, you will see many military statues of men on horses, the story behind them is if you see a gentleman and the horse has all four hoofs on the ground then the rider survived his military career without any injuries, if the horse has one foreleg in the air then this rider had been injured in battle and if a horse has both forelegs in the air then this rider had been killed in battle.
Great tour video, thank you so much! We're traveling there next May and visiting England, as well. We didn't realize there were so many interesting places in Edinburgh and we now know we won't be able to see everything. You've given us a great overview which will help us in prioritizing what to see. Thanks again and happy traveling!
Thank you for this lovely comment. Edinburgh is an amazing city with many things to explore. Enjoy your stay, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask ☺️
A truly wonderful video covering many of Edinburgh and some of Scotland's attractions, both visual and exciting to the pallet. (food and whisky). Video quality and dialogue clarity confirmed your personal knowledge of the city, which made the experience even the more entertaining. Many thanks.
Hoi Melissa, volgens mij is er wel een ford in Ford August, er staat een soort van toren in het water en nog 1 aan de kant. Weet niet of dit een overblijfsel van een ford is. Verder, leuke video👍🏼
At 24:08 is The Church of St. John the Evangelist, it's a Scottish Episcopal church in the centre of Edinburgh. It is sited at the west end of Princes Street at its junction with Lothian Road and is protected as a category A listed building. On the left as you go in the door is a plaque for a John Stuart Forbes (J S Hiley) who had to leave Edinburgh in disgrace and ended up in America but his bad luck followed him as he joined the U.S. Cavalry and landed in the 7th and went down with Custer at the Battle of Little Big Horn. The grandfather of American folk singer Joan Baez, William Henry Bridge was Minister here and her mother Joan Chando Bridge was born in Edinburgh and baptised in St Johns.
Beautiful video my husband and I are traveling to Edinburgh the end of May beginning of June when did you go there and can you recommend where we should stay
Thank you 🙏🏼 This video was taken in October, but I’ve also studied in Edinburgh from May - July and the weather was just perfect. There were only a few rain showers and the temperatures were really nice (in my experience). So far I’ve always had Destiny Scotland St. Andrew Square Apartments as my accommodation and I can really recommend it to anyone. The location is perfect and the apartments are really nice. If you have any further questions, please let me know 😊
Thanks a lot Shannen ❤️ We did our tour with Rabbie’s Tours. You can find them next to Waverley Station 😊 They have several great tours. If you have any question, please let me know!
@@travelbeemelissa Hi! Can I ask the name of the tour that Rabbie's arranged? I would like to visit the Glencoe's visitor centre, but I couldn't find a tour on Rabbie's website which would take us there.
@@nooraviinikkala1797 hi there! We did the "Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands - 1 day tour". This tour did take us to the Glencoe's visitor centre. I'm not sure whether it was a nice extra or whether it's always included in the tour. Maybe you could ask them, just to be sure before you book the tour? :) Have fun! It's truly wonderful
Thank you very much 😊 It all depends on your own preferences. For me, May or June would be the perfect time, because the days are very long. It will be light outside from 4 am until 11 pm. Or, if you like some special cultural events, then I would recommend August since there will be The Fringe and Edinburgh’s Military Tattoo. However, October is also a beautiful time to go (I will go back this October). And if you’re into Christmas, I can recommend end of November/beginning of December, since there’s a nice Christmas Market. But during these months, the days are very short. If you want to do any day trips into the Highlands, I would say that May until end of September is the best time. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Hi Annie! I stayed at Destiny Scotland St. Andrew Square. It’s a wonderful apartment! Another great one that I stayed at in April was Destiny Scotland Chisholm Hunter Suites 🤗 if you have any more questions, feel free to ask :)
You pronounced “Loch” perfectly! But above all. You got Holyrood correct!!! It’s NOT Hollyrood! Most Edinburghers get this wrong. As an Edinburgh man, born and bred, it drives me nuts! “Holy” not “Holly”. “Rood” is the Scots word for “cross” so Holyrood = Holy cross. You are a legend!
Thanks a lot! 🤗 We stayed at St. Andrew Square Apartment by Destiny Scotland. They have several apartments throughout Edinburgh. Just check their website to find out more ☺️ if you have any more questions, feel free to ask them!

@@gilbertmoyes2918 thanks a lot for the nice compliment and your tip! I’ll be back in Edinburgh in 2 weeks, so I will definitely have a look! :)
@@travelbeemelissa, Top it off with dinner at The Witchery or Panda & Sons. Trust me both places you will enjoy.

Great tour of Edinburgh. Makes me want to visit this city even more now. What is your favorite season to visit Edinburgh? Any recommendations?

I added that to my wish list when I go next month. And Circus lane. I really appreciate that artistic eye!
