The top pick is awesome!!! I bought one, the Genesis 2 5T Prestige. It is an awesome car to drive, awesome luxury-
Couldn’t agree more. You nailed the rankings order. Don’t change a thing about your format; you are both so fun and informative.
I think your well thought out list was quite accurate and fair. I absolutely agree with the order/ranking. Thanks for another Top 5+ list video. Cheers!
I own the GV70 2.5 4 cylinder and I Adore it!!! Has plenty of power.. lots!! Luxurious
And quiet! The stereo is phenomenal!!!!
Beyond impressed with this SUV . Thank you for giving it the appreciation and accolades it deserves!
Does the GV70 have the Lexicon system? I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis and it has Lexicon. It's bad ass system!
@@GBraidi78 Yes it does
Yes, it does and it sounds incredible. You can adjust to “ audience sound,” or “Stage” as if you were at a concert. I absolutely LOVE the sound.
I sold my 2020 Lexus RX and got the GV70 Sport...No regrets whatsoever...what a beautiful SUV and as you said the Lexicon sound system is Amazing
RDX all day everyday, more backseat room and cargo capacity, great sound system and reliability. You were right about the value pick, just a great all around vehicle.
Yeah, these people don’t mention stereo systems at all!
What’s with that?
And probably spent 10 minutes with the Tru Touch system and passed lazy judgement on it.
They must like taking their eyes off the road to hunt and peck.🤣
The touchpad infotainment is a train wreck
@@alexPsanz
How so?🤔
@@billmulvihill8452 Worst of all worlds, you don’t get the muscle memory of a dial or the direct interaction of a touch screen. It also sucks for apple car play and android auto. There is a reason why Lexus was getting killed for using a touch pad. This version might be better than Lexus but it is a terrible idea
@@alexPsanz
How many minutes did you spend with it, before rendering your decision?🤔
i just bought a Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy. I was looking originally at the X3 and the Lexus NX350. Santa Fe Calligraphy had just a great engine, terrific torque, and luxe interior. It's a real joy to drive!
You are both right in putting the Genesis GV70 in the top pick….no other can compete in all car category….from exterior, interior and quality!….Congratulations Genesis!….
How's the cost of ownership and any complaints?
Perhaps if you had a better thumbnail you could have more views 😉
Y’all are great and offer a pleasantly different perspective than most car reviews on UA-cam. I recently bought a new Ford Escape but keep watching your channel because the videos are fun. The BMW interior reminds me of the Escape. It’s nice, but nobody pretends the Escape is luxury.
It’s amazing to see all the comments with people saying “I’m on the waiting list for X…” I think car manufacturers are using marketing tactics to have us believe there’s a new car/microchip shortage so they build only the number of cars that are already reserved, they can sell them at a premium and dealers can jack up the prices. It’s a win-win for them, but not for consumers!
This wouldn't shock me if it were true. Fight back by waiting a few years. If everyone did that, prices would drop like a rock.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH Exactly! The law of supply and demand. We all want to keep up with the Joneses and buy the latest and greatest. If there’s no demand, they’ll have to mark things down.
GV70 well deserves its top ranking. But I certainly am looking forward to GV70-e to compare it with GV60. Specifically, I would like to know their respective ground clearances to figure out which one would be more of a CUV/SUV.
We have a 2020 RDX (A-spec) and we love it. The all wheel drive is excellent in the snow (just as good as an Audi Q7). It feels quick with a solid built. It has all features we wanted, except for one. Power folding mirrors (really?) My 2012 Audi A6 had that. Apparently the Canadian version does have that feature (weird). I would have put the RDX above the Audi (and I am an Audi guy), based on price and features.
I think your top pick is right on the money. Both my mother and stepfather purchased GV70’s this year and they have been in love since day one. My mother purchased the 2.5 Sport Prestige but my stepfather purchased the 3.5 Sport Prestige and he agrees the price was high. The only downside they have found is the dealer support in our area (SW Florida). Both dealers here seem to be inundated with service requests and are booking weeks/months out for simple service appointments. It will be nice once they build out their own dealer network but even with this inconvenience they both said they would buy another without question.
I was happy to see the GV70 take the cake. 🎂 It stands out in so many areas. It is beautifully styled both inside and out, and it's good to see a new player take on the other more established luxury brands.
I think its ugly af.
@@florianhaffner3910 You thankfully are in the minority. I get so many compliments on my GV70. Stunning interior and incredible attention to detail!
Agree on all fronts...I've been driving all these vehicles myself over the past few months. I bought a GV70 2.5T Prestige...and I'm loving it! Thanks for all the information!
@@dalehuhtala9285 Me too sort of bought a GV70 3.5T. No issues, the interior is spectacular people stop me regularly to comment favourably on the car.
I would be cautious about hyundai/kia engines. I have not heard of any genesis engine issues as of yet
I have a gen 1 Porsche Macan S and LOVE the car, but the new GV70 has caught my eye. Has the same HP as the previous Macan GTS in the 3.5 engine. I am impressed with the fit and finish of the GV70. Unfortunately, they are selling so quickly in the Seattle area, I haven't been able to drive one yet. Thanks for the review!
I wish you guys do videos also about reliability. Its ok to see reviews of cars but reliability is a big part when buying a car. And the same with non reliable cars videos too. Do more of that. We want cars that will last and not ones that after 4 years we will be spending an arm and a leg fixing them and lots of times at the repair shop.
I am sure the European bands cost a lot more to maintain. It comes down to how you value the driving dynamics, material finish and ownership cost.
Look at Alex on autos on his opinion on reliability
@@BeyondLumination thank you 👍🏼will do
Yes please!! I need reliable suv recommendations ❤️
The last ‘unreliable’ vehicle was in approximately 1985. Everything made today is just a different level of very good.
Y'all go piss off a lot of Lexus fans lol! They loyal 😝 I agree with y'all the Genesis came to kick ass the rest need to get it together
I had commented on your GV70 2.5T review that I loved the way you went about the review in all facets. We have now driven the NX, XC60, Q5 and X3. As an auto enthusiast I can say your review of the top options in this segment was spot on. We went to a dealer to look at a GV70 to sit in, as this one was pre-sold, but in the exact spec we’d choose for options and color combinations and we really liked it. The fit and finish was better than the Q5, which as an Audi S5 owner made me sad haha. Well we just got a call this morning that the deal fell through for the buyer on the one we liked, my guess is in the financing. As sorry as I am for that individual we now have a deposit on it. We were prepared to order one this week and wait but now we will drive it this evening to confirm and most likely take it home tomorrow. Seems the S5 will have a Genesis garage mate rather than a fellow Audi. Great comparison, thanks again.
@@abrasionthermals9172 we actually did not. We went to pick it up and sign the paperwork buti picked up on the fact that the dealership was baking in an additional fee in the lease money factor rate that they should not have. It is legal, but I wish they would have just admitted it when I called it out. They had stated they were not charging over MSRP, as most other dealers were, but they were simply getting that fee in another way and not being transparent about it. We decided to wait a day and ultimately decided to pass. We found Volvo XC60 in just the right spec and went that way. Volvo had way better rates at the time, even though they had the option to do the same as other dealers, and the sales process was by far a better experience. All great vehicles but ultimately glad we went with the Volvo.
As a GV70 3.5t owner, I couldn't agree more with this list! The vehicle is fantastic all around and drives like a dream. What is also a game changer for me, being that I take care of my 8 month old daughter in the mornings and work in the afternoon and evenings, was the free valet maintenance. The tech drove to my house to pick up my GV70, dropped off a loaner G70 sedan, and returned my vehicle to my work address. My vehicle was washed, waxed, and vacuumed, it looked brand new! Neither BMW, Mercedes, or Lexus ever even came close to that level of service for me! And it was all free.
That so cool bmw or Mercedes doesn't that!
how are you finding the fuel economy? im looking at the 2.5 t version
@@roidAholic I no longer have the GV70. I traded it in for my dream car.
Lexus drove a loaner to me every time, over 40 miles away
Lincoln also provides that kind of service. What is your new dream car?
I just purchased the GV70 2.5L Prestige and its amazing! I went with the malta white with the blue leather interior.. Nothing but compliments from friends and family and it turns heads like no other. Even friends that have the sq5 or bmw tell me the regret their choice atm... Best car i've ever owned.
Hey Zack & Andrea,
Thx for the reviews - Well done!!
The GV70 offers a wide variety of modes for the driver to enjoy.
As I approach 60 yrs old (and I'm a bit of a car guy) I totally love the luxury & comfort side of vehicles BUT also what to turn it up when I can. This GV70 3.5TT should really be about $20-$50K higher priced. It simply does everything really well and is 2nd to none is this segment when it comes to ride quality, comfortness, quietness all while surrounding the occupants with massive luxury features.
It is called the baby Bentayga for many reasons. It is so quiet & refined when you want it to be - When you're stuck in traffic or going no where fast. My wife asked me if it was an EV as it was so quiet. Those double paned windows really make a huge difference. Plus the massaging seat is nice!!
When you want to drive spiritedly switch it into Sports + mode and you easily hear the roar of the engine and the sweet exhaust notes while enjoying the rear wheel driving bias sporty experience.
In comparison, the RDX A Spec it an excellent top rated vehicle but that engine is super noisy vs the GV70 and its a much more stiffer ride. Plus I wasn't impressed with the 0-60 time of 6.4 seconds to the GV 70's of 5.7 (4.9 seconds in the V-6). And the RDX weighs 450 lbs less.
Its the luxury components/options, higher tech, standard features & options, the ride quality (can be extremely quiet & smooth AND aggressive and sweet exhaust notes) that makes this GV 70 THE clear winner in segment.
Overall the CLEAR winner for me the is the GV70 3.5TT in Sport trim level. I'll take it in that Gorgeous Mauna Red exterior colour with 2 tone interior combination please:-)
In Canada that full load price is $76,500 plus taxes. The F&PDI is included in that price. No discounts from that at all.
The electrified version is coming out in 2023 but in Canada the top trim level will be about $25K-$35K higher cost to the ICE version. Besides its NO Gas requirement the EV version is a littler quicker with 0-60 times 4.3 to 4.6 seconds. For me I'd put down my deposit yesterday if the EV version had a time in the 3.5 second range. It will have a 500 kms range on a full charge.
PS - Lots of dealer problems with Genesis in the States. Here in Vancouver No problems at all. I have 3 dealers within 40 minutes and the nearest is 15 mins away.
Cheers all!!
Awesome video. My mother was shopping in this category. She really liked the Genesis but they were priced high in Florida, nearly 60k. She was torn between the X3 and GLC, she ended up picking the X3 M40i. It was overall better value for money and it just ticked a lot of options on the list
Great summary !! I test drove most of your picks, not the Porsche, and the Genesis just stood out, exterior design, interior fit and finish and strong performance. I bought a 3.5 Sport Prestige Uyuni white on red/charcoal, love the GV70................
Your top 5 luxury compact crossover list is spot on. These are the vehicles that I compared while shopping for a compact luxury SUV. I ended up ordering a Genesis GV70 2.5T Advanced Plus at C$59,000 for all the reasons that you mentioned in the video, the killer looks, fit and finish, sporty yet comfortable to drive, and advanced technology with all the bells and whistles. To get a comparably equipped BMW, Audi or Lexus, you are looking at $10,000 to $20,000 more. When you factor in the 5-year free valet warranty service, the Genesis is a winner by a mile. The only downside is that I now have to wait 5-6 months for the vehicle. If money were no object, I would take a Porsche Macan GTS in a heartbeat. Thank you and Zack for another winning review.
Thank you very much, so glad you enjoyed our Top 5! Congratulations on your new GV70 2.5T, you are going to love it.
I ordered my GV70 2.5T Prestige in July and was told Dec or Jan for delivery, I got it in mid October so hopefully they are under promising and over delivering for you too.
Traded in my 2021 Audi Q3 for the 2021 Macan S. So disappointed with the Audi. Numerous quality issues. Driving the Macan is next level. I had no idea a car could be this good. The tech and interior are clean & simple, not over the top. But the drive….oh, the drive. I really like the GV 70…. Chops to Genesis…but I can’t stop smiling in my new Porsche.
I have a 2021 Acura RDX Aspec and I love it. Fun to drive, good power, lots of space and very good value. I agree with your criticism of the track pad and I do wish it was a touch screen but I have all my presets done and I use Apple CarPlay all of the time so I have gotten use it it over time.
I want to lease a 2022 but I hate Acuras bulky center control module
We have a 2019 RDX. Android Auto can be a bit buggy. Biggest frustration is with playing of flash drive from the USB port. About a third of the time, it doesn't recognize that the flash drive is plugged in. Dealer not able to fix. Very frustrating. Do you have any experience utilizing this?
I have about another year before I look to buy new and I am leaning toward the Genesis. So nice and I drive a Genesis sedan now and have had great experience with reliability. Problem is I would like to test drive one, but there aren't any available. All on order due to chip shortage. Hoping that another year will allow me to test it out before pulling the trigger.
My mouth almost dropped at the sight of that Genesis interior! I’ve always thought the exterior design was killer, but mated with that interior, it had to be number one! Thanks very much. Job well done!
I love my GV 70! I have had it since September, no issues and just rolled over 4k miles including . I did opt for the 3.5t for my needs, but purchased the Sport Advanced as it ticked all my boxes. I, too compared it with a Macan S and I am well-pleased with my choice! Congrats, Genesis!
I read that they dont have usb-c charging ports. Is that true?
@@beaubeauknows3620 Congrats on a car that doesn't have any problems after 4k. Very impressive for a Hyundai!
I'm happy with my 2021 rdx with technology package and SH-AWD. I had BMW X1 prior to this, while bmw is definitely fun to drive the road noise was awful, driver seat was not very longer drives. RDX feels like a definite upgrade. I do wish it had touch screen and folding side mirror
Amazing review! Kudos to both of you and hats off to your efforts! Have been following you guys since I custom ordered my GV70 2.5T. It’s already 4 months and may have to wait couple of more months as per dealership. I almost booked Macan S but after test drive GV70, I saved myself ~15k.
The Macan will keep its price the GV70 will not.It will make a better used car buy but the Macan was the car to get.
Hi there, Congrats. I’m in the same boat, struggling to decide between 2022 Macan Base vs GV70 2.5T. What was the total cost of GV70 for your custom order?
Hi @@rnalak111
Macan 2022 is a beautiful SUV but waiting period is more than 6 months plus very high APR (~5.70%), which were reasons I wanted to check out Genesis. and I glad I got test drive appointment that day. You won't regret your decision going with GV70, My custom order come just little under 70K CAD with tax with top trim in 2.5T.
@@Steve20169 got it, thank you. I got a chance to look GV70 2.5T top trim but dealer did not give car for test-drive. I drove 2022 Macan and I liked it but the price you know for each option is getting pretty expensive. May I know what exterior and interior colors you chose for GV70? I am thinking to buy GV70 top trim now and I see March delivery date.
Hi @@rnalak111
Sounds great! Yes as Its getting more and more Popular and also the chip shortage. Last year, people were getting GV70 in 1 month but now the picture is different.
I got white with blue interior. btw Red on Red looks stunning. I realized after I order.😀
GV 70 leaves the others for dead ! The finish is stunning
Over the past 20 years, owned MB, Audi, BMW and Porsche. Currently have a BMW X4 -M. Have loved my German cars. However conservative interiors and spiraling prices left me looking for options. Was ready for a change. Genesis styling, interior quality, options, pricing and your glowing review triggered the decision. Just booked the GV70 advanced plus. The drive was great and felt better value for money. Will be my first Korean car, lets hope long term experience is good as well. Thanks Motormouth.
I agree 100% that the gv70 looks like a Macan from the back. I though that it was a macan when I saw it on the road not to long ago. It even has the same trunk release as a Macan on the back wiper.
We shopped this segment and agree with you. We bought the gv70 with the 4 cylinder and absolutely love it. The Macan was our next choice, the price jumps up very fast with options and the back seat has no leg room. Love your videos
So true, the Macan gets up there with packages for sure. Thanks for watching!
Love your honest and valuable opinions. I think that you hit the nail on the head with the GV70 being #1. I recently just started following you two and I think you guys are adorable.
My favourite brands Mercedes Volvo and Lexus go straight into the honorable mentions. 😳
Interesting I had a client do a back to back test drive with the Genesis GV-70 and the RDX. It just so happened to be when the roads were snow and ice covered. The Genesis was a handful in comparison to the sure footedness of the RDX. My point is most Canadians have to drive in snowy conditions and having a FWD biased AWD vehicle is a better option then a RWD biased AWD. Something to think about if you are living in a real winter climate.
That’s a great point. Thanks for bringing this up. I have a home in upstate NY and we get plenty of snow (though not as much as we used to). This just knocked the Genesis down a notch from the others. I was leaning towards the X3 anyway.
@@allenklein161 isnt the x3 also rwd biased awd?
Acura super handling AWD is the best
I agree the GV-70 is a great looking and operating SUV and deserving your #1 ranking. I have a BMW X3 AWD and i love its all-round handling and driving. The RDX is right up there for value but i don’t lime this “wart-looking” knob in the center that dominates the dashboard and does nothing but change the driving mode once in a blue moon!
One of the reasons why I love you two is that you speak your minds without any reservation.
Well, the dude does...
The Genesis is a compelling value starting in the low 40's U.S. Originally I was thinking NX, now leaning towards GV.
Same! I've been looking at Lexus RX but now considering GV70 or GV80
I guessed 4 out of the 5, the RDX being the exception. I guessed the GV70 as #1 as well
Hi and thanks👋🏽 you guys are pros and it shows.... About to acquire my first Porsche, 2016 Macan S, cheers!
I think the xc60 is the winner. It just looks the best out of all of them. I do find it funny that they mention reliability when nobody is going to actually own these things long enough for that to be a problem. Used car shoppers don't buy Mercedes, BMWs, or Volvos because their primary concern is reliability. Mercedes and BMW drivers just lease for 4 years
Own a BMW long term, work it hard, and you will love the base seats. They're bullet proof keeping your car looking good no matter what you throw at it. And super comfortable for hours at a time. I really appreciate not having to look at tired seats that cost me a bundle as I have in other cars.
I test drove the base x3 a few times and find the sensatec so hard and uncomfortable esp compared to the leatherette on my base RDX which is much more plush. I like the vernasca leather better
I enjoyed your videos! I have a question. I have a 2012 bmw x3 28i that has been stored in garage for 5 years. Is it worthy to have it run back? Probably there are a lot of things to be done before I have this x3 run on the road. I like to have your input and advice! Thanks a lot!
I just picked up the 2022 Acura RDX elite and absolutely love it. Coming from a 2017 RDX…I notice the refinements big time.
thanks for this video! great info and insight in a market that has many many choices!
Thank you for your great reviews. I think that most mortals would be happy with any of them. I have driven all of them except for the Genesis. Somehow it has never been on my list, it appears to be very nice. I got an X3, loaded, and I really love it. I drive 3k miles/year in a metro area, bc I also make an effort to use public transportation. Thank you again for your reviews, I always watch them and I believe that I have become a more educated consumer partly because of people like you.
So happy the RDX is on the list. I have the 2021 Tech version and I love the car. Very high quality for a good price.
I bought a GV70 3.5T Sport Plus (in Vancouver just like you guys are) last fall. Loved it so much that I bought another one (same spec, different colour) the month after. Recently bought a GV80 3.5T Prestige as well. Genesis offers so much value, even with the top trim level.
Love this and agree.
RDX is clear value winner, but the interior is way more Honda than it is luxury, and the power is ZZZZ
Q5 is great, but not a "wow" experience - it's exactly what any reviewer tells you it is when you drive one yourself.
GLC was better than Q5, I thought - but being phased out is a solid critique.
Buuuuutttttt I bought the GV-70. 3.5t, I didn't drive the 2.5 b/c that's not what I was after, but it was the obvious winner.
I set out to buy an SQ5, and was so let down by it, but the GV-70 met all my hopes for the SQ5 and blew me away beyond that.
Love it.
Totally agree! I looked at the NX pricing here in Canada, HOLYYY...and no options can be added for the basic engine, and you gotta go wayyyyy up in price to get a decent amount of technology. Lexus definitely lost out on a lot of customers with their pricing, the marketing team needs to go back to the drawing board. (FYI, just pre-ordered the 22 RDX platinum a-spec with all the tech packed in!)
this is exactly the category we were looking for and we looked at all of the options other than the Porsche and based on power, features and price, we picked the Genesis GV70 2.5T Prestige in White exterior with the Ultramarine Blue Interior. Absolutely love it and I highly recommend it to anyone.
YESSSS! I've been driving my GV70 (up 1 from the base model) for5 months now and its not only gorgeous but wonderful to drive. So glad you agree!!!
I have had an RDX for 10 years and it has been great, but that GV70 interior, especially the dash, just makes me so happy....and all the color choices. I am going for the GV70 next.
I traded in my 2020 RX for a GV70 Sport and I couldn't be happier...what a day and night difference in terms of interior quality
Wow, so glad to hear you are enjoying your GV70, great SUV - Andrea
I’m going to take a look at the Genesis after this video. Otherwise, I ❤️ my RDX!!!
Hello from SW Ontario -- I've had my 21 Acura RDX for the past 6mos and it's nice to see it on this list. I am eying your #2 spot the Macan in a few years!
Looks cold where you are. Looks like you have as much snow as we have here in Montreal. Good to see you in the new year guys. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! We have so much snow this year, it's crazy!!! I am ready for spring!
Just got a 2023 sq5 with S sport package, sport exhaust and trailer hitch. Love it. A solid all rounder.
I value her knowledgeable opinions. Thanks for these great videos 👍
I will stick with the Lexue NX due to reselling value and reliability period. But I do like the GV70 nice comeback by Genesis.
Great reviews, for me Macan is definitely the top but i am holding out for NX350h
I enjoy Zack in these videos.....he makes me laugh with some of the faces and voices he makes when describing some of the issues with each vehicle that are 'questionable'. Andrea is smart and stylish and beautiful - I love her!!
What a tough call between the Macan and the GV70 🙈🙈, both terrific options, and yes, the Genesis is gorgeous to look at too, has it's own character as the rest; congrats you guys always delivering quality reviews 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you very much!
No, not tough at all. If the Genesis is the same price as the Porsche, I'm going with legendary performance, quality, craftsmanship, luxury, and hello, it's a PORSCHE..
I drive a 2020 GLC and it's good, but I absolutely adore the Macan - it's ride quality, body control & handling are phenomenal. I agree the GV70 deserves 1st place, but I wish Genesis would allow US buyers to mix/match options/trims and improve the ordering & dealership experience. Why can't I get the 2.5 with road preview suspension, 19 inch rims, and top spec interior? :(
I strongly agree !!!!. When you see UA-cam from gv70 owner in korea, they customize everything and have so much choice . They actuly peel off the protective film stickers on every surface of the new car by themselves.
I love love my 2022 RDX platinum elite a-spec…glad to see it made the list
I think you need to take ownership, service, dealer experience and reliability into consideration and I would think Lexus NX would be #1 IMO.
Thank you for the great review! Really appreciate your pointer on the last year of the current edition of GLC; turns out dealerships are eager to get those cars out the door, and I got a steep discount for one! Like you said, the interior looks so nice and comfortable; the moment I sat inside, I knew this is my car.
Before I even watched the video, I knew you guys would give GV70 as no1 which I completely agree. Excited to see the new GLC, and as well as you guys are just 1k subscribers away from 200k!
Great reviews. I’ll stick the Porsche in no 1. Never driven a car that handles and plows through snow like the Porsche. Love all your picks. . Wish I could have 1 of each.
I'm on the waiting list for a 2022 Lexus NX 350h Luxury, I can't wait to go for a test drive. Good review as usual.
I really think the NX 350h is the one to get, it's priced really well and if I were to buy the NX that's the one I would choose.
Can't wait to get Lexus NX 350H
just got the Volvo XC90 Recharge.. Love it .. and Ive had BMW for years .. more space for family and 3rd row seating
Your thoughtful and detailed reviews are terrific, thank you. I agree 100% about BMW's interior. I took out an X3 M40 and was very disappointed with the plastic-like upholstery.
Please, keep up the good work.
You guys are awesome! Can you explain to me if the tucson hybrid in canada has built in navigation or do i have to use auto car play? Thanks
Yes, it has NAV
What is the reliability of these to last a while? I don’t want a bunch of expensive repairs. It’s hard to find videos on reliability, just new vehicles. Any help is appreciated, I’m hoping to purchase an suv this year, so many to choose from.
Excellent list, folks. It's difficult to argue with the GV70 as your top pick, especially with the base 2.5L turbo 4 banger. At my last count Hyundai, KIA, and Genesis are offering that engine as standard or optional in NINE (!) vehicles and it has received glowing reviews in each and every one. The big mystery to me is that KIA offers the engine in the GT-Line Stinger but Genesis has stuck with the previous 2.0L base engine in the Stinger's cousin, the G70. In any event, the GV70 with the 2.5L turbo is a undoubtedly a winner. And the GT-Line Stinger with AWD and the optional "Sun and Sound" package here in the US is a screaming bargain with an MSRP under $41,000.
I’m shopping this segment coming out of a GLK. For me my top factors are safety, reliability and resale value. So I’m going with an NX. I tend to own my cars for a long time.
I got the rdx in March last year and feel that's it the most value for money when you look at the amount of features it offers for the price. A spec is 52k and similarly spec-ed gv70 would be about 60k
Apart from that. Acura holds the most of its value over the years compared any other brand in the top 5. Lexus would be the only other brand in here.
Had my RDX since June 2018, still very happy. Should not replace it before the new model comes out.Only complaint is that it required Super…
I like all your picks. I agree about the Genesis GV70. I would have bought one but it wasn't out when I was in the market last March. I looked at most of your picks except the Macan and the Lexus. After looking at everything I decided to buy a RDX A Spec. After owning it for 10 months I can say I made a good choice. Yes I would like a touch screen but once you use the pad in my opinion it is very easy to use. Way better than the Lexus interface before they changed it for 22. I agree the BMW interior is lacking. The Audi is very nice but the rear seat area and the cargo space is small compared to the RDX.
If the RDX had a touchscreen it would be the hands down winner.
And now we want a "Top 5 luxury small SUVs" list:
A few examples...
Volvo XC40
BMW X1
Audi Q1
Mercedes GLA
Hello.. Thanks for your very appreciated videos. Question: I am contemplating the purchase of a 2018 (BMW Certified) BMW X1 xDrive28i with 69,504km. Just wondering what is your recommendation on this in terms of what major maintenance or repairs to expect in the near future ... Would it compare to any vehicle with 175/200 HP ? Thanks.
This is the FIRST time I have heard someone criticizing BMW with its 'German Luxury' and I TOTALLY agree. It feels like beemer feels a bit entitled with their significant and obvious cost cutting. Looks like they have not yet understood why Lexus RX350 sells so much. THANK YOU for such a wonderful honest review. You rock !!
The Lexus RX sucks at everything except reliability tbh
Yet still number 3….
@@brittoncoil2518Exactly
I just bought a x3 and love the way it drives thanks for the Utube
Congratulations! - Andrea
The Q5 IS the all around winner! It does everything well & the 8 speed automatic transmission matched to Quattro AWD ‘remains’ unmatched in the industry!
You two are a great team together. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
Glad you like them!
Love your reviews. Seem unbiased and thoughtful. Just today ordered the Genesis over the Lexus NX. We’ve been 10 Lexus owners since 1993, and feel like we’re deserting the ship but to me, this wasn’t brain surgery!
I test drove the X3 M40i, Macan S and Genesis GV70. They were all fantastic, but went with the X3 M40i - LCI is great, and offered so much. Definitely a worthy competitor to the X3 M which is astronomically priced.
Yeah, same here and I don't agree at all with what they said about X3 m40i interior quality. I just love it. It feels quality to me.
Im still putting my money on a bmw x3 m40i. Super fun to drive! The gurgle and pops are superior!
great test as always like the Genesis GV70. the looks and interior and price.
Similar to the GV70 is our Santa Fe PHEV Hybrid in luxury trim. . We could not be happier with the interior and the 75 Miles Per Gallon. Tons of space for passengers in a quality environment. Our next Hyundai will be a Genesis EV when this lease is up.
Are you planning to review the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus anytime soon?
I'm torn between the Nautilus and BMW X3. I know huge difference but the great lease deal I got on the Nautilus , plus it's bigger size is making it a more attractive option despite all the rankings and reviews that are not in its favor.
Any advice here ?
Question? We have a 2022 Lincoln corsair standard. GREAT VEHICLE! Looking for a larger size luxury SUV. Which do you feel is the better buy, The Nautilus Lincoln, ACURA MDX, or IFINITY X60? We want your opinion.
Just got my GV70 2.5T. The Barossa Burgundy with Beige interior starts conversation.
It's a Hyundai .
Very good review! Thanks
Would it make sense to buy a Lexus NX, and then replace the wheels to the ones with non-runflat tires? Or even simply replace the tires if that is possible?
Thanks for the super helpful video! Have one question though…what exactly is the flat tire issue of Lexus? Are the tires more vulnerable to damage or they don’t hold air well? Appreciate if you could reply. :)
Run-flat means you can drive on the tire after a puncture for a short distance instead of changing on the side of the road. After a puncture, you need to buy a new tire.
I'm currently shopping for one of these cars and so found your video very helpful - thank you. In your reviews I'd suggest you also note which cars come with a spare tire - many cars don't these days (like the N95 and X3 which use run flats). Run flats are fine in the city, but not having a spare is unwise for rural use. I was once stranded 200 km outside Toronto because a run flat failed (with no spare).
We do note the spare tire in the full reviews
GV70 easily. And the 3.5T as well. It's priced much less than the loaded Germans, (check Calgary BMW, 90k for an X3 M40i and 76k for the loaded Genesis with 3.5TT). The 2.5T is fine, but the 3.5T better suites the character of the car. I'm waiting for mine to be built with baited breath.
Ah, that didn’t take long! The Genesis in Calgary is gone. Too bad, difficult to find one in this market.
@@DrMichaelRM Wait, the dealer? My message might be misleading, I mean the GV70 from the Genesis Canadian site. That is the price for the vehicle, there is no negotiating up or down; what you see there is what is paid for it.
@@IvanBosnjak89 Thank you, l clearly misunderstood. Definitely a difficult car to find regardless
@@DrMichaelRM That is for sure. Ordered mine back at the end of October and I'm sitting around like Pablo Escobar in Narco's waiting for it to arrive.
