I just bought an RDX yesterday and so far I really like it. Very roomy interior, very good throaty (although artificially enhanced) sounding acceleration, excellent Sound system! The brake pedal feels a bit ‘undefined’ but you’ll get used to it quickly. Overall very happy with the purchase, also looked at the Audi Q5&3, MB GLC, BMW X3 & Volvo XC60. While my personal favorite was actually the redesigned Audi Q3 my wife wanted the RDX since we already have one Audi and she doesn’t like some of the annoying beeps and weird behavior of the Audi.
Heads up!

Update: after owning the car now for over a year I must say that the initial euphoria has worn off and quite frankly the RDX is one of the worst cars I have ever owned.. Very jerky throttle response and overall unrefined ride, definitely not a luxury ride as advertised by Honda! This was my first and will be my last Acura!
@@user-kb8gh5jv9t Poop! This is a good time to sell or trade if you are going to do it!
@@user-kb8gh5jv9t Thanks for the update!
@@user-kb8gh5jv9t Could you please share the problems you faced in RDX?
Honda/Acura really stepped their game up. Unfortunately with such great aesthetics and technology I can no longer justifiably afford lol.
I'm impressed, Roman, this was a great review, and I didn't nod off half way through, or indeed anywhere in this 20 minute expose'
The Fast Lane series of programs on automotive information is getting better with every show. Well done Mr. Mica et al.
P.S. my choice would be the Volvo.,...but WGAF!
Well Fadi,..that's how you found it,..I, on the other hand, found it as I said so in my comment.
I like the way both basics and details are included, despite keeping a 5-car overview at 20 minutes.
There were details I don't think I would have noticed in a test-drive.
Thanks for a valuable comparison and highlighting that there is actually no "best in class".
I love the RDX, I own it! Absolutely beautiful vehicle.
I just bought the last RDX tech version from a dealer here in SW Florida (10/21). Very beautiful interior, engine noise is a little noticeable during acceleration compared to my Audi, and gear shifting is slightly noticeable but not a deal killer. But for the price point I was pleasantly surprised (even though I had to pay almost msrp given the times we are in) at what was in the rdx package. I have watched several videos on utilizing the dash components and took care of the garage opener without problem. My sales person was excellent.
@@carylhalfwassen8555 I absolutely love my RDX. Every time I get in it I smile. Beautiful vehicle. Enjoy it.
I own an 2018 audi Q5. I comparison shopped the GLC versus the Audi. The Q5 was just what i was looking for.
Jani Beg wtf that’s exactly what we did 2 years ago lmao
I bought a BMW X3 which is really excellent especially if you give it a bit more style with the m sport package. Very comfortable, poised on the road and ample power. But I agree all of these cars are really very good - though must say didn’t try the Acura as it wasn’t available when I purchased. Comes down to money and personal preferences really.
Also one thing i noticed about car reviews, hardly any one talks about maintenance costs and overheads.
Vivek Menon exactly
Or just general reliability. So frustrating to see a Jeep Grand Cherokee review talking about how luxurious it is when you know its going to rattle like a cheap piece of shit after 25k miles.
Well, having owned Mercedes, BMW, and Audi, I can pretty much guarantee you the Acura will cost a lot less, and the Mercedes the most.
@@panzrwagn The Japanese cars are better value than the European cars--comparable quality at, typically, at a lower price. I have an older Infinity--built in Japan--and it has been fantastic. I want a car built in Japan or Germany, not Mexico--but I think a lot of cars sold in America now are made in Mexico, yes? Maybe the quality of Mexico-built cars is fine--not sure--but Japan is better.
@@richardernsberger5692 These days, any company is capable of building to any quality level in any factory and in any country. It's all a matter of the quality and training the company wants to invest in their people and their product. Acura builds their NSX engines - production and competition - in Ohio. VW builds their GTIs for Western Hemisphere in Mexico. My 2016 GTI has had exactly zero defects, flaws, or any other issues except a factory recall that's not function of build location.
I test drove the Volvo, Mercedes and BMW and ended up buying the 2019 BMW M Sport package. can say that I am extremely happy with my choice. I think in my opinion the volvo's technology package is better then every SUV out there currently. the BMW drives the best if your looking for sport. the Volvo is the most comfortable ride but def not as sporty. The Mercedes GLC 300 will probably end up being the best when they update the technology package to match the GLE and higher models. Thats the only thing that kept me from buying the Mercedes. only complaint about the BMW X3 is it doesn't offer remote start unless you upgrade to an X5 or higher models.
I just test drove all of those cars except the RDX and wound up leasing a RWD GLC 300. It sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels 100% of the time, and weighs nearly 300 Lbs less than the AWD version. When I turn in and give it the beans - I feel that satisfying polar moment of inertia - that you only get with a rear drive vehicle having a longitudinally oriented engine. It's actually kind of an old school configuration which I prefer. Btw, the interior and that Burmester Audio are amazing.
thats too bad you didnt drive the Acura. More horsepower and torque.
I like the appealing personality of the new Acura RDX
More than half of RDX owners are men, at 56%, and their median age is 60. These figures align with the overall segment. Where RDX owners diverge from the average is in terms of median annual household income. The Acura owners report $139,583, while owners in the segment earn $167,283..
Let’s get this straight. Honda paid for you to come out and review the RDX against what they consider to be competitors, but you gave more useful information on all of the OTHER vehicles? Nothing about the acceleration of the RDX, no comment about the interior styling, trunk space, infotainment system, and no comment about the ride quality either? What was the point of this video? Honda should demand a reimbursement because you didn’t review the RDX. You gave us nothing! Please don’t participate in such events if you can’t be honest. What’s the point of being one of the first to review a vehicle if you can’t be honest?
0-60 7s isn't bad at all, do all cars require sub 5secs?
@@normt5463 The Stelvio got 7 as well in Consumer reports, I don't know how they test but it's all relative.
I completely agree, I watched the entire video and didn't get any of the other comparisons he did with the Acura... that was 20 minutes that I will never get back. Idiot.
I think it was embargoed for this video at the time they made it. Which is ridiculous. Other reviewers did the same. We drove all these cars to compare but we aren't allowed to talk about it. :B
he most likely removed what he said acura didnt approve
I really, really hope the RDX is the start of the Return of Acura to greatness. One of my favorite cross overs.
Not recommended by Consumer Reports today.
Great review. I wish I would have seen it before I purchased my RDX. But I am truly enjoying my RDX. It is awesome to drive and in comparison to what I used to drive, a 2015 Nissan Rogue, the RDX is 10 times or more better than the Rogue.
Que tal te ha salido el RDX ??
I go for the XC60 and the one he tested wasn't the Inscription or R-Design to make it a fair comparison but he tested the A-Spec Acura.
Love my XC60 T6 R-Design Polestar!
RDX or X3 for me. Whether I want to keep it for 5-10 years + with great resale value or just leasing.
Not the one to get new.

3 months ago I test drove several suv's. From my original plan of purchasing an all encompassing vehicle, that all changed when my wife and I test drove the 2020 RDX A-spec! I suddenly realized I wanted something exciting and sporty, the hell with towing capacity and room for lot's of people! lol When i first sat in an RDX I felt like I was in a fighter jet! Love the big knob that says, dial me up and blast off!!! Did not get that feeling in the other suv's. When I put the pedal down, I felt much more excited than when I test drove the other's (those crazy humps on the hood say, get the F*** out of my way before I eat you!!!. The final point that made me sign on the dotted line was my wife's interest and love for this vehicle in pearl black and red leather seats that sent her over the top, after decades of not giving a damn about cars! Oh, and let's not forget that fantastic ELS stereo sound!!! ...but that's just me...lol ps...I love the push button trans...tired of the shifter!
Agreed. I purchased a 2020 RDX in April and I absolutely love that car. I love the interior design push button transmission, the cubby under the transmission, the vertical vents, infotainment control pad( I don’t mind that it’s not touched screen because I wouldn’t want to see fingerprints on the monitor) and the speed and how well it handles. My only complaint would be it’s not fuel efficient but other than that I have no issues. I also love the els sound system and all the driving features it offers.
Video of you inside accelerating to obscene speeds ... followed by drive-by shots of you doing roughly 20mph ... hysterical!!
Love the channel and really enjoy your reviews. Unfortunately, you reversed the specs of the Q5, it actually has 252 HP and 273 lb-ft. You reversed them when you reference the power of the 2 liter engine. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
I will vouch for Audi Q5
Smooth excelleration.... I was going 65mph and punch it to escape the squish between semi- trucks going up hill on a Hwy. However it was so quick that the copper pulled me Immediately 🥺.... He clocked me at 90mph.... I didn’t even get to Cruise down the road at that speed darn it!
PS I’ve had 2 Q5 2015 and 2018 total of 6 yrs and with routine synthetic oil changes, premium, gas and required checks ... I’ve had no fails.
I believe the driving experience of my accord is just ok. Poor seat design, small arm rest. Although a very reliable car. Long distance the back seat of my accord is comfortable for sure. I wish the frobt seats had more support.
I have found it hard to try to convince somebody looking at Euro cars to even consider an Acura.
They have no idea what they're missing out on.
Bought the Acura and would NOT buy another. Such a clunky info system and unreliable cruise control safety system.
@@DanLee70 Info like yours is why I am leasing the RDX instead of buying it outright. If I like it I will purchase at end of lease. If it is a dog I won’t have an issue with market value because of poor reviews. I would have preferred an Audi but the price point for the RDX as an alternative, often parked vehicle vs the higher price tags of the German cars justified leasing the 2021 RDX.
There's something ironic about Roman criticizing the gear shift operation in the RDX as "not intuitive". This channel (Nathan and Roman) has been whining about Honda/Acura's move to button-controlled gearshifting for awhile now. Would they hop in a Ferrari and dare say the same thing? Of course not. And what is "intuitive" about gearshifting? The act of gearshifting has evolved over decades. It used to be "intuitive" to grab a stalk sticking out from the steering column, pull towards yourself, and shift gears. Then it evolved to the floor-mounted shifter and those became "intuitive". Now, Mercedes has gone mostly to the steering-column mounted electronic shifter again, but Roman didn't criticize this for being "non-intuitive". Nor did he criticize BMW's or Audi's gearshifters from not going through the usual physical detents that used to be "intuitive". The point is, gear shifting using a gear shift knob only became intuitive because it was prevalent and the technology for a while. Technology has advanced and now there are various different ways to shift gears.
"Its a BMW thing" dude, almost every car with an auto transmission has that setup, backwards for drive and forwards for Reverse
Really, in a tradition transmission you pull backwards to backup.
+The Fast Lane Car Only when going from Park. Reverse is forward of all other positions.
Manufacturers have to follow the PRNDL shift pattern, which is the origin of the counterintuitive move lever back to drive forward and forward to reverse.
Actually, that would only work if it is a 5-speed manual. 6 speed would be still pushing forward.
The Fast Lane Car I drive manual and I have to put it to the left and go forward to go reverse. Also with the hood latch, you pull twice because it’s a convenience where you don’t have to find where the hood latch is. You are just being picky 🙄
Kind of sad you dont know why the shifter is setup that way when you review cars.
BMW is a sporty car. The shifter is setup like a sequential race gear. When you come to a corner and brake, you downshift by pushing forward like everything else in the car.
When you accelerate you pull back on the shifter.. That way you are following the the way the weight is moving. This absolutely the best setup.. I had a VW and is just felt so weird having to push the shifter forward in manual mode during acceleration.
I go for the XC60 each day. It is damn beautiful, well done Volvo.
Im definitely getting the rdx. As soon as I saw that prototype I thought "Does it come in black?"
I own a 2009 Audi Q5 one of the best I ever driven its between Mercedes and Audi and in my opinion I would still go for the Audi Q5 for the luxury and performance
I am surprised that Acura did not include Lexus for comparison !
I thought the entire review was great right up until the moment there were no comments on the acceleration of the RDX. For all of the other cars you said "let's give it the beans", then you commented on performance and smoothness of the acceleration. For the RDX it appeared the video was edited and your comments about acceleration were cut out?? Were you disappointed? How could that be cut out of the video??? I'm asking because I test drove the RDX and there seem to be some turbo delay compared to all of the other cars. So, I would have been very interested in your opinion on acceleration. Maybe you can provide that info by responding on this post. Thx
There is delay in shifting (slight) compared to say Audi and the engine noise is a little noticeable compared to q5 for eg. But for $10k less what do you expect?
I go with Acura reliability, durability, and less expensive repair costs.
You good thinking’s in a few years

Love the video .... no bs .... great info .... no brand favoritism and what favorite items each brand should have.
Real exhaust tips, Real exhaust note, Real intuitive technology interface.
Driving should be a cathartic release of mundane interactions & daily tediums .... nobody wants to fight with the infotainment or question which gear is selected .... hop in, turn key, drop it in drive & hit play
VOLVO XC 60 for me ! The touch screen is incorporated into the dashboard, instead of sticking out like the one in the Merc, which would shake on a bumpy road.
Roman just admit that you hate BMWs! The gear shifter in the Audi is set up the same way, but you didn’t mention that. Technically the gear shifter in almost every car is reverse up and drive back.
Sort of yes, as reverse is above drive, but all are bellow "P". Technically, all require you to pull the stick lever back or down. Also, most aren't monostable joysticks, they're gated or indexed, meaning the shifter stays in the position instead popping back, clunking through every gate or index, allowing you feel and see what gear it's in, even after you've let go.
Actually, most require you to pull back for reverse.
Goss assuming that you are already in drive and want to reverse.
Whatever direction it goes in, at least you can feel the indexing and the pattern of the gates. Speaking from experience, with BMW's stupid shifter, you can't feel your way because it all feels the same. I don't know how many times I mistook a gear for neutral or the other way around. Everytime you're uncertain, you have to look at the lights on the shifter or your instruments, which is annoying. In our old Lexus, you could feel drive by simply pulling down. Neutral was above drive but it had dog-leg between that and reverse. Again, you can do this all by feel. You don't have to look when making a multi-point maneuver, you can just feel it the correct gear/drive mode.
Lamar2081 All the cars tested, except the Lexus (they’ll be next to add it) had untraditional gear shifters. My point was, Roman only pointed that out on the BMW because he’s not a fan of the brand.
Acura- Push button shifter.
Audi- Uses similar shifter. Up for reverse. Back for drive.
Mercedes- Uses stalk on steering column (Where the windshield wipers stalk is normally located). Up for reverse. Down for drive.
Volvo- Similar to Audi and BMW. Up twice for reverse. Back twice to drive.
The new Acura is NICE 👌
huge improvement on exterior, not quite sure about that dash yet, but maybe in person it will make more sense than the video...looked more like an 80s pinball machine than a premium model dash.
thanks
Roman, the yellow butterfly in the Mercedes showing was perfect video cinematographer! How did you get it on the plane ride out there? Keep up the excellent work that TFL has become for everyone!
In his spare time, Roman breeds and trains butterflies for those kind of camera shots. :) He also is able to bring it on a plane because it was a Therapy butterfly. :P

I took it as a sign! Since I test drove it and loved it!
Purchased the Acura '19 RDX A-Spect, after twice each test driving the BMW X-3, Audi's Q-5 & Mercedes GLC 350 and I definitely believe that I purchased the be best " luxury" vehicle within that class of SUV.
Quite a good review but it would be very cool to have acceleration, circle time, offroad, fuel consumption tests and then it will be just a gorgeous review :)
I test drove an Audi Q3 & Q5, Jeep GC, BMW X1 & X3, Volkswagen Cross Sport, and of all I liked the BMW X3 the best
funny how Acura gives them a blue car that pops in their "A-Spec" trim while neither the Audi nor BMW are in their respective M Sport and S-Line trims in boring gray/black colors. they also left out the Lexus NX and Cadillac XT5.
Always enjoy everything y’all do on here.

I found the X3 to drive FAR better (not just car-like, but like a proper sport sedan, like a 3 series with way more room and good steering feel), the X3 is also quite roomy and every bit as comfortable as the GLC. Why didn't you comment on the Acura shifting? Interior? Infotainment? You seemed to go much more in depth with the other vehicles. Holding back?
The video is already 20 minutes long.
So there will be another video with more detail?
The Fast Lane Car true but wasn't it about the rdx though, lol
Because that stuff on the RDX all sucks compared to the Germans
The whole point of Acura's spending money on this trip for you is not to let you earn money or to give you a little vacation. They paid for a REVIEW. Skimp on competitor reviews and review Acura, since they paid for it.
I don’t usually like your reviews, but this one was really well done. Awesome! Good job! Thank you for the information.
The BMW shifter is the right shifter, its setup the same way as real sequential shifters, it’s setup that way due to when race cars are braking the down shift the momentum is forward and is safer. Whereas when you are accelerating, it’s easier to pull backward bc the g force is already pushing you back.
Yes when you're comparing base models They're all pretty comparable But the reason why the German's cars Can push into the 60K mark is because they all have a high performance model and a huge difference in price. For us my wife liked the look of the glc test drove a base model at 1 dealership it was ok looked at some of the other competitors even the Infiniti Visited a different Mercedes dealer and found the AMG version 43 and that was it she was in love
I personally like the Acura the least. Really can’t understand that weird interior design, but its price is lower than other competitors, which is more affordable. I appreciate that this video gives a quick and broad review of these models.
No more Acura for me. dealerships network has become worse than second rate. Acura value is not what it once was kind of sad. styling sucks from my point of view quality lacking all this comes after having one MDX presently and having purchased five of them new to date. My dealer Finlay Acura Las Vegas has no integrity and are dishonest, imho, I'm done.
Sad you even have to go to back to the dealership with Honda+ brand.

I'm a big Volvo fan, but I agree 100% with Roman about the Mercedes' vents. I wish that all cars had vents like that. With vents that have sliding up/down louvers and left/right louvers, I never feel like I can point it exactly at me. With Mercedes' circular vents (and also the Aztek's), they have a definitive center that you can POINT somewhere. It's a small thing, but it's such a better design.
C'mon man, you had the ball for over 20 minutes and you punted!
You can't draw a concluison on which is the best off roader if you didn't go off road on every single one. The BMW is a pretty good off roader as well. Good video, keep it up.
Good video. I'll take the Acura!
I remember when this video was put out by TFL on their channel in late 2018, promoting the 5 new high end, luxury mid size SUVs from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Acura, BMW, 2019 models for the faster, much more off road capable,
Of all the choices, I prefer the scenery.
Audi Q5 wins IMHO.
Looks are subjective, but the RDX definitely stands out more.
I had one for a while, the infotainment really holds it back. Along with the 10 speed really feels like there are too many gears and it gear hunts too often. The vehicle is not as reliable as you would expect from “Honda”.
Best in class rear legroom and cargo space though.
If you want a professional auto mechanic's opinion, with plently of years experience who works on all cars: The Acura is the Best!
Jim Bic have you been factory trained to work on an Audi, Mercedes, or BMW product? Or do you just formulate your opinions based on the 8 year old X5s of the world that have never been taken to a proper BMW workshop. Yah, thought so
Ur a shit mechanic if u think that
n777ua no bmw are shit don’t come with that crap lol
I remember when bmw fan boys used to be able to handle opinions that differed from their’s back in 199never. Weird how I don’t see any Audi fans or Mercedes fans clamoring about how amazing their offerings are in this comparison. If it was my money I’d grab the rdx in a-spec trim. X3’s are for broke people who want to look like they have cash to blow 😂.
All these cars are going to leased! Only after it is turned in, is the Acura the best!
I previously stated my issue with this review which was the reviewers non mention of Value. Value is a very important factor for many people who are not married to a particular brand. My opinion was the RDX is a definite Value option. That said, I and my wife were in the market for a smaller but, not small luxury CUV as we have just become Empty Nester's. Our youngest has left for college and we no longer need our large SUV/CUV.
We visited and drove numerous luxury compact SUV/CUV's from various companies. We did our homework. We purchased the Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury AWD edition and, are extremely happy with our decision. Ecstatic actually.
The XT4 Premium Luxury is everything we wanted in a CUV. Solid highway merging acceleration. Distinctive, not cookie cutter looks. All the tech we wanted. Comfortable and stylish looks inside and out. The "reviews" online knocked it for a lack of Euro sportiness. We couldn't care less. It's a small Luxury CUV. Not a Ferrari..
The online reviews praised the XT4 for smoothness, quietness, and comfort. Flawless tech performance and exterior styling. Exactly what we want in our CUV. A good looking, not cookie cutter, luxury CUV that is quiet, comfortable and, has the requisite tech needed to make for a great comfortable daily driver and the comfort and tech to make longer treks a pleasure. After test driving many vehicles in this category we are very happy with the Cadillact XT4 Premium Luxury Edition.
We would buy the little Caddy Lux CUV again. With no hesitation whatsoever.

Jeremy Clarkson says this all the time.
Vivek, look at the Consumer Reports New Car Reviews magazine. ACURA has very low maintenance costs and very high reliability.
THEN look at Range Rover and Land Rover. Their reliability is "Much Worse ThanAverage". 'nuff said!
I test drove the audi, BMW X3 and the Volvo , and the Jeep renegade and to be honest the Jeep renegade was the best, handling was better and shifting was a lot smoother and the power to the front wheels was quicker than the BMW X3 . Jeep renegade wins 2019!!!!
I own an Acura MDX Tech, and it’s performance is exotic. Feels like your riding a Bentley. Recommended for people who likes sports cars and suvs. The MDX is all of it in one.
"Give it the beans"?
Sarah is having an effect already...
You guys should've added the Alfa Romeo Stelvio vs the RDX that would have been a good mash-up!
Would have been nice if the vehicles were comparably equipped and then you could actually mention prices instead of saying the starting price of two of them and saying they would become "very expensive" when options added. Say how much each would cost to get it comparably equipped to the best equipped you are testing.
Yes, I went looking (during late 2021, post Covid-19 outbreak) for a reliable, attractive suv for an older (alright old) that would not break the bank. This vehicle fit my purposes for the $$ involved vs the q5 which I had intended to buy or lease. I have spent more time than a normal female car shopper might have considered optimal to become familiar with the dashboard. That said, I also kept my Audi (2017) for comfort .
Early! I might start considering this Acura
We have a new RDX Aspec and we do very much like it. I think we’d rather have a touch screen, the push button controls for Drive, reverse, etc. are not intuitive at first but we are getting used to them. The drivers screen is not completely configurable. It’s a beautiful gorgeous SUV. Plenty of power, nice notes from the engine. One thing it does have on the main screen I like a lot is the speed sign where you are at, that is nice. Now if we could set the adaptive cruise to be 5 mph over that speed and it switch wherever we are at, now that would be something.
How's the pushbutton transmission working out for you in the long term? I'm interested in the newer Acuras and saw this pushbutton style also show up in Hondas. I think I'd like it because it seems harder to make the wrong choice, like selecting Drive instead of Reverse by mistake. The BMW's stubby lever gives me the heebie-jeebies, though (and worse are the cars where you'd turn a knob to select D/R/etc).
RDX is fast and super comfortable no need to overpay the Germans. RDX is value, 50k 4 year coverage plus 70k powertrain
I have a c class and I’ve never used the touchpad, my dad has an s class and barely uses the touchpad. My mom has the RDX and the infotainment system is just ok, a little laggy at times. But she got it a month after it came out
Acura all the way. Best sports SUV. And look at those headlights.
World of Tanks blitz replays Blitz I agree 😎but I also love bmw
SKY LINER sorry but some of those cars don’t last like Honda which make Acura.
@@SKYCLIPPER bruh. Catch up with time. That was the old days. We are talking about modern cars.
@@SKYCLIPPER more techs=more costs=more components=more failures=more repairs=more money wasted=more stress. Anti collission system malfunctions on many cars sometimes. More techs do not mean its good. Can be bad too. Clearly u know nothing about cars. Euro cars breaks and it is a money pit if u keep it ling enough. These are common facts. I had 2 bmws and my dad has mb s500. All pos. U do u. Its your money. Just sharing useful info to help the car community. People lease euro cars for a reason.
@@SKYCLIPPER u just contradicted yourself. Diy does not dictate these pos cars are unreliable and money pit as they age. U do know most people dont know and have time to diy right? Consumer reports like JD power are paid marketing companies. Write that down. These are unreliable sources. Anybody can buy these pos german cars for cheap. Most owners have buyer remorse like myself.
One comment for future compares, cost of ownership, depreciation, gas, maintenance, insurance, what I factor into a purchase. Volvo’s Chinese ownership kills resale value but the Rex being a Japanese car has great value, just a thought, great reviews
The RX or NX gotta be in the line up!
Aha, this channel is an Acura channel! 19:21 However, I like Acura, but that's quite interesting news!
I would definitely go RDX if I hadn't wanted. The off-road stuff for my bronco sport heritage limited and wanted more luxury which I do wish the broncos sport had more control of the power seats like being able to tilt the front or back or stnc 4 with a 360 camera system. But I definitely would have gone RDX they're all-wheel drive system is great. It's been around forever and everything in the RDX except that transmission has been around forever. Plus it's a Honda You know it's going to work and I've driven the older version of the RDX and it was great
Hey Roman, you didn’t really comment on the acceleration and transmission on the RDX like you did with the other cars. How did it compare in your opinion?
PistolPete63 it was terrible, it's an Acura ad and that's why he never mentioned it. That's why he made it clear the he thought the Acura was the best even though it was quite shabby compared to the rest
Kyle McGillivray that’s an interesting take and is probably why he never answered my question.
Audi Q5 all day.the best car in segment
BMW X3 all the way
Typical ignorant peasant who have never owned(not lease) euro long enough to know how shitty they are as they age. Lol
The few negatives I can find with the Acura:
1. No dynamic dampers available on the A spec trim
2. Yet wheels for the top Advance trim are not great looking, forcing an either-or choice
3. Acura continues to limit exterior/interior color combos pretty severely.
4. No word yet on towing ability
5. In more affordable trims it doesn't look nearly as good, Honda/Acura has a wheel design problem vs the Europeans.
6. If you want 20" wheels in a non- A-spec, you get to pay $3,000 for accessory wheels, which is ridiculous, as they don't hand you the OEM ones back and they are just cast aluminum anyway.
7. Acura history of dealers who toss add-ons onto the sticker, old-school style. Hopefully not the case with this.
8. At nearly $50,000 driveout, and paying MSRP early on, it's not the value it would be with moderate discounts later.
Bruno TaTa that’s alot
Thats not a lot. He is repeating about alloys. Extra $3200 20" on advance trim is not aluminum. For 50k, you get everything top of the line, which is much better value for money compared to all these europeans incl jaguars(except porsche).
You're spot on. And you forgot that ugly center stack. Why would you make that drive mode button the highlight of the dash? Does anyone here constantly change their drive mode every 5 minutes?
I put the RDX in the same class as Buick ... near luxury. For me, I am putting money down on the X3.
The x3 is probably gonna break down first anyways 😂
@@xxalexhahaxx So true 😂👍🏽
Wow, the Buick isn’t even close the the RDX. Why soo much hate for the Acura? Has the best AWD out of all
The RDX is very convincing this time around. For most folks looking for a luxury compact SUV, I still say the XC60 wins. However if sporty and tech is your thing, the RDX is now my pick replacing the Q5.
Trades46 if you want sporty and tech you should consider the inscription volvo xc60t8 with 407 horsepower ;D
Hessig the XC60 T8 is brilliant. I currently own an Outlander PHEV and enjoy the electric driving experience - I can only imagine how the more luxurious XC60 would be like.
I did spend seat time behind a XC90 T6 and while more power is nice, Volvos are not exactly sporty to drive. Luxurious, comfortable and elegant, but it never likes being hustled around a corner. The MDX SH-AWD on the other hand is not as well finished or polished but definitely the one that is for the driver in terms of fun factor.
The Acura is so pretty on the outside but man...The infotainment is just beyond awful.
rockn roll difficulty reading ?
I purchased the ACURA RDX way before seeing this video and I must say I made a great choice this guy talks to much about nothing give the company there money back you know nothing John snow
Interesting review, but very high level, there is so much more to these cars that might be of interest to a potential buyer - infotainment system use, navigation, ride quality, warranties, reliability, etc.
BMW shifters like that one are in the use more then a decade. For the love of God.
The rear headrest trick could actually be a selling point.
