    I imagine the star map only shows "inhabitable" planets. Every planet that can be visited in Helldivers is a terrestrial planet, not Jovian planets like gas giants. This would explain why Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are not there. As for Mercury and Venus, they are far too hot to maintain human life. Planets like Hellmire are hot, but civilians can walk out without protection just fine so it must be cool enough to support human life. That would explain why there is only Earth and Mars available on the map. This doesn't necessarily disprove your theory, but I think it is important to consider.

    • @guidelamp4025
      @guidelamp4025 8 місяців тому +73

      The mere fact that every living thing doesn't immediately start burning alive the second it enters Hellmire's atmosphere is evidence enough that it's nowhere near as hot as Venus.

      Supposedly, armor would be enough, but that is no sense.
      Live on mars come back to earth and break your bones. Getting thrown up into the sky on mars as a mars dude means getting hurt, but someone from earth can handle stuff.
      So if you are from a high gravity world, your bones will dense and your muscles too. You will be strong but not so massive, because your body would hate that. You would get a sleapee build. You would have more mass and be heeavier and made fir hogh gravity world, so anime running and jumping make no sense, but add armor, and you can tossed and not die.

      Tbf, in game we can't see super Earth in enough detail to tell continents. At least none of the times I've seen it from the ship.
      The only places we can see continents are on the planet itself on the map which is just a holographic projection and maybe the intro which is just a propaganda commercial.
      That said, it is still supposed to just be earth. Like I 100% believe there is no conspiracy here. It is just lovely old terra through and through.
      Just stating that the only 2 places we can actually see the continents are both biased and inclined to show them as they would be expected to be.

      Actually the large Oceans are a factor why our Planet is habitable. The majority, like 70%, of Oxygen in our Atmosphere is dispersed by Algae in the Ocean, Forests play a minor, though not insignificant role in binding CO2 and releasing O2. Also the Constant diffusion of Water vapor into the Atmosphere from these big bodies of water to form Clouds and subsequently make Weather, is what forms a habitable climate.

  • @IbocC64
    @IbocC64 7 місяців тому +8

    You wouldn't have 2 planets with the same continents. The only reason mars is the only other planet is mars is that its the only other colonized planet in the sol system. Do you really think that each one of the planets we see in the same sector are in the same system? Mars and Earth are probably the only 2 planets on the galactic map that exist in the same system. To support this I would like to point out that no 2 planets in the same sector elsewhere seem to be orbiting the same stars. One planet will orbit a brown dwarf and the next one an apparent blue supergiant. You see plenty of planets in the skies of the worlds we drop on yet none of them appear in the galactic map. The map only shows colonized worlds and their proximity to one another. The original helldivers had multiple replays of the same war with different endings. From what I understand sometimes the war would end in earth's destruction and sometimes its would be victorious. In order for helldivers II to be lore accurate, the writers assume the cannon ending was that Super Earth was victorious. That is why all the land masses and continents and countries are the same. For example Greenland and Great Britain are now a wasteland and Sweden is now basically leading the planet. The reason for that is that the game is made in Sweden so why not talk up your home country. I think all these things are explained to my satisfaction.

  • @francisgentle8314
    @francisgentle8314 7 місяців тому +1

    All three points are somewhat accurate, but they feel like stretched
    First point: yeah they never told that those are the same planet, but in hd2 there is a reference map of super earth (uploaded by pilestedt), showing an almost exact map of earth with forests and jungles on the same locations, other than cities; and some areas are also labelled as "Last great War wasteland zones" probably referring to the first galactic war. I feel like actual proof like this map from AH is better than assumptions based on silence
    Second point: as someone else in the comments suggested, the planets shown are only habitable earth-like planets
    Third point: i don't know if that count.. super earth did blow up many times during the events of hd1 since the game basically restarted or something like that. There are multiple occasions where humanity won the war and the 100 years of peace started and occasions where humanity lost and super earth blew up... it's a fairly old game (2015) /so at some point the devs and the gm probably gave the players a chance to win or lose sometime/ edit: this is false as there were no gms in the first game, just an algorithm that replays a cycle, and the canon ending is us winning the galactic war (no earth bum bum)
    I belive that super earth and old earth are the same planet, the sectors outside sol system are purely fiction so there isn't much backing up with comparison. Now that we have a black hole in the galaxy we could use that as an orientation point

    I agree with most of it, except for "The Solar Sysytem is different" bit. Dont get me wrong, you got a good theory and it actually makes sense but this argument about the Solar System weakens it, you see, everytime we start a mission the Destroyer's computer informs us "Entering Angel's Venture SYSTEM", so I guess Super Earth wants to control not only whatever System it is but all the surrounding area. Still on that issue, we have only Earth (super? old?) and Mars, but the rest of Solar System's planets aren't very hospitable, from Jupiter to Neptune there's only gas giants, Mercury is too damn close to the sun and Venus is a literal hell. Again, i think you're right, especially bc of the HD1 lore bit showing Earth literally exploding to bits and General Whatshisname stating theres an Old Earth. Nonetheless, great vid.

    pretty sure thousands of citizens and the colony members would eventually question as to why coordinates for super earth are different coordinates and why some cities are being rebuilt etc when they were already constructed, this is a nice theory and all but it just has too many flaws, since you based it on helldivers 1 which wasn't a live service like helldivers 2, that game over screen is personalized to each party of 4, you fail it only affects you at least i think so, its based on a DIRECTION the story CAN go, i think if the day comes (i hope not) that super earth gets invaded in hd2, we'd fight our way back from that sector .. i doubt the planet would just blow up, that'd probably just be a failed major order, but since its just one planet we'd all be completing those so the chances of even that happening would be really REALLY low..
    in short: its nice and all but its far fetched...
    one thing i noticed too in the video seems to indicate that you look at the galactic map as a system map, each planet on that map is IT'S own or IN it's own system, super earth seems to be the exception as the sector it's located in seems to be the sol system but for other sectors we notice different stars etc for planets within their same sectors, we can easily assume other planets of the sol system were never intended to be a place we can go to as they probably serve no real purpose, mars is the training facility and super earth is super earth which we all fight for, a goal to protect, i don't think we'd be fighting off automaton ships at Jupiter station or some crap (i though i'd love some halo reach like space combat..)

    So.. the solar system isn't the same. But planets around are?
    What if.. when super earth blows up, we just engineer one of the other planets of the solar system to become new super earth, using scifi technology (although likely much more advanced than what is shown in helldivers) to move it to a good orbit, enlarge/shrink it to size and change whatever elements needed.
    So in essence, we've used up most of the solar system already woth only mars left as a backup. So two more lost super earths and we either need to relocate or we need to start moving planets into the solar system.

    I had this theory that the Galaxy is not the entire Milky Way but just the Orion Spur (Earth is there), if Super Earth is always moving this would make sense, Super Earth might want to hide their past defeats and make it look like the galaxy is smaller so Old Earth or past Super Earths cannot be traced.
    I came with this theory because the Galactic map is ridiculously small and makes no sense with Super Earth being in the center, if it's because they couldn't put so many planets then limit them map to be the Known Galaxy or just a galactic spur like Battletech did.

    I don't think Super Earth has ever lost or been destroyed before: John Pilestedt uploaded a map of Super Earth and the continents and oceans are the exact same as regular Earth. But the mention of "Old Earth" is very interesting/odd of them to include in HD1.

    I thought the fact that its called "super" earth made it clear that it wasn't our solar system? I always figured it was either an alternative universe or this is humanity in the future after it migrated to another galaxy or part of our galaxy. We call certain planets "super earths" because we think that their conditions are similar to that of earth but their size is larger than earth. I thought super earth was one of those planets that humans ended up settling on in the game's world.

    No one ever mentions this, but a 'Super Earth' is a real thing. I heard of it before in astrology, and Wikipedia says, "A Super-Earth is a type of exoplanet with a mass higher than Earth's, but substantially below those of the Solar System's ice giants, Uranus and Neptune, which are 14.5 and 17 times Earth's, respectively.[1] The term "super-Earth" refers only to the mass of the planet, and so does not imply anything about the surface conditions or habitability. The alternative term "gas dwarfs" may be more accurate for those at the higher end of the mass scale, although "mini-Neptunes" is a more common term." Are we not gonna talking about that?

    I'd hate for my first and practically only comment on this platform to be criticizing the theory of some random guy on UA-cam who's just making a video on something he clearly enjoys. But there are so many holes in this theory that I couldn't just lurk any longer. I'm going to review the theory point by point.
    1) Funnily enough this is the point I have the least amount of problems with. I also respect that you recognize that a lack of confirmation isn't necessarily evidence, as I feel there are plenty of theorizers who just...don't get that? I don't really have anything to say about this. Still not sure why it is listed as a "point" though when it means nothing on its own.
    2) I would hate to sound like literally everyone else in the comment section, but the map very clearly only shows habitable planets. I'm not going to bring up the whole Jupiter and Venus thing because that's been done to death at this point, but I also will bring up that when FTL jumping to some planets you can see moons and planets in the background. I bring this up because these planets and moons aren't shown on the map, supposedly because they aren't habitable, and therefore of no interest. What would be the point of showing Jupiter on the map if there is literally nothing of value there?
    3) This is the biggest one for me personally and maybe makes me angrier than it should (no hate though of course). First off, there was only one first galactic war. We know this because of voice lines in the second game. Now, you could argue that maybe we lost the first galactic war, moved, pretended we won, and just took a 100-year hiatus. The problem with that is that if we lost the first war, why do we have bug farms? Why do we have cyborgs on Cyberstan? Why do we have Cyberstan? Why do the Automatons want Cyberstan? Why does everyone talk about the Illuminate as if they went extinct or something? Why do we have Illuminate technology? Why do we have enough dark fluid to turn a planet into a blackhole? I'd like to step back from that and poke at something else now. Let's say that all 200+ first wars and counting were cannon like you imply. Why does anyone ever mention only one war? Sure, it might be to cover up all the losses but if they wanted to do that, why not just say they won hundreds of wars? Knowing how proud Super Earth and its citizens are, wouldn't they try to say they won all of the wars rather than just one and pretend the others don't exist? Not to mention, covering up so many heavy losses would be near impossible anyways. Now, secondly, not even the devs consider any of the wars past the first 3 cannon. Now, please take this argument with a grain of salt because I personally haven't seen this, and I am just going off of what I've heard from others. From what I know, the devs took the events from the first 3 wars and stitched them together to make one single war, for which they use as the cannon first galactic war in the lore of Helldivers II. In case if you weren't aware, we won all three of those wars. If my sources are correct (which they very well might not be) the entire third point of your theory is completely invalid. The war resets were always more of a way to allow people to play the game without just saying it is over and sending you straight back to the beginning, nothing more, nothing less. Essentially just a really fancy end results screen for the end of a campaign.
    Now, because I'd feel bad if I didn't say something good about this video, I'd like to say that despite this theory being a very huge stretch based on assumptions and just ignorance of certain details the video itself was actually very good. I enjoyed your editing and the graphics you had shown. Speaking of which, if you had made the drawn graphics yourself, very good job as they are very clean and not very distracting while still conveying information clearly. You seem like a cool guy, and I think the quality of the video itself is pretty damn solid, I just think the theory is awful. I think if I ever see another theory pop up in my recommended from you, I'd like to see you go more in-depth on the details and address the possible flaws or evidence against your theory. Also, by looking through the comments and your replies to them, its kind of clear that you were lacking on some basic research. Not knowing that there were multiple endings to Helldivers, while also trying to use one of those endings to prove your point isn't a great look. There are other things I'd like to talk about, like how some of the planets changed biome and positions in between Helldivers and Helldivers II, which might actually be something of value for your theory, but I'm sure people have already saw how big my comment was and just scrolled down.
    [TLDR; Good Video. Bad Theory. Hope to see your channel grow in the future. Have a good day :).]

    • @redblackgaming
      @redblackgaming  7 місяців тому +1

      I greatly appreciate the detailed comment and I respect that you made sure to communicate that you're only trying to help me see where I was wrong - that's amazing.
      I must be honest - there was not much evidence for this theory, and I mostly did it for 2 reasons:
      1. I had a feeling this is a question that many players unconsciously have considered, and that raising it would resonate with viewers
      2. as a fun exercise that many players would have enjoyed to think through
      All that is to say I think it was a video worth making to get people thinking in the end.
      As for your comments on my drawings - yes I make them, and the drawings are part of my channels identity, so I'm glad you like it.
      As for the future, I'll try to make sure that I don't identify with a conclusion just because it's more fun.
      Now although this isn't super important, I do also want to mention that my assumption was that the word War is used loosely, and that a War meant all of the cycles completed (win or loss on the first game). In any case, I should have digged deeper into the first game.
      Much respect for your positive comment again!
