Lol
I've only heard this song ten billion times, mmm, think I will listen to it again. Old guy
I don't want to be hostile.
I don't want to be dismal.
But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existence either.
See
I want to believe you
and I want to trust
and I want to have faith to put away the dagger.
But you lie cheat and steal.
And yet
I tolerate you.
Veil of virtue hung to hide your method
while I smile and laugh and dance
and sing your praise and glory.
Shroud of virtue hung to mask your stigma
as I smile and laugh and dance
and sing your glory
while you
lie, cheat, and steal.
How can I tolerate you.
Our guilt, our blame
I've been far too sympathetic.
Our blood, our fault.
I've been far too sympathetic.
I am not innocent.
You are not innocent.
No one is innocent.
I will no longer tolerate you
Even if I must go down beside you.
Because
Noose is innocent
Lyrics that aren;'t fucked up (well they are, but not as bad as this one):
[Verse 1]
I don't wanna be hostile
I don't wanna be dismal
And I don't wanna rot in an apathetic existence
See, I wanna believe you
And I wanted to trust you
And I wanna have faith to put away the dagger
[Chorus]
But you lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
And I tolerate you
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
I cannot tolerate
[Verse 2]
Veil of virtue hung to hide your method
While I smile and laugh and dance and
Sing your praise and glory
Shroud of virtue hung to mask your stigma
As I smile and laugh and dance and
Sing your glory while
[Chorus]
You lie, cheat, and steal
Lie, cheat, and steal
Lie, cheat, and steal
How can I tolerate you?
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
I cannot tolerate
[Verse 3]
Our guilt, our blame, I've been far too sympathetic
Our blood, our fault, I've been far too sympathetic
I am not innocent
I am not innocent
You are not innocent
No one is innocent
[Bridge]
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
You lie, cheat, and steal
I cannot tolerate
[Outro]
I will not tolerate you
I will go down beside you
I must go down beside you
No one is innocent

@Connorshark which lyrics? Version one or two?
This is the first Album I ever heard by TooL, in the '90's as a Teen. Been a fan since. Never seen a concert . Too bad for me.
Dude you rock , so sorry you never caught a Live concert.
This era was their best...more direct and aggressive.
Tool's greatest album. Intolerance is absolute genius.
This must be the cops favorite album also. , every time i play this they stop by.
We need a lyrics video for this song please 🙏
This past election made me think of this song.
It's probably one of their best albums
I fuckin love eating fiber optic cables
clear channel memorandum playlist ftw! Clear Channel is the best radio station out there 😺
Lie, cheat, & steal - the summation of the human condition.
