All of the brushes I use are watercolor brushes. They are designed specifically for watercolor. You'll see various brush manufacturers because it took me a long time to find the brushes I loved. This video is from 2 yrs ago. I'm currently trying in love with Grabie & Nfinity Arts brushes. The pens in this video are super fine point sharpies.
Hi there! In this video it's a super fine point Sharpie pen, but because we're outlining after the paint, you can really use whatever black pen you like.
Hi there! I usually use what's called a canvas board/panel. They are designed for acrylic or oil paints, but I use the back to tape my paper too. The back is smooth. I like them because they are lightweight and easily portable and inexpensive. You can usually find them at any art store, Amazon or other online art & craft stores. Search for canvas board or canvas panel. You can also use any fairly solid board like surface. I've used class cutting boards, clip boards, plexiglass - anything like that will work.
Hi Deanna! I talk about taping quite a bit in some of my earlier videos. Essentially, the tape helps keep the paper from buckling & warping so much when you paint. Adding water to paper inherently makes the paper do funny things - tape helps lessen that. You can tape it to any hard surface. I often use a glass cutting board or canvas boards. I like both because they let me move the painting around easily, but you can use wood, plastic, plexiglass, etc. Any hard surface. I like the canvas boards because you can buy them fairly inexpensively. I tape to the back of them (tape doesn't stick to the fronts well). You can usually find canvas boards at any art store or online - I just get cheap ones for this purpose & you can use them over & over. I don't tape if I'm using very little water, but that's rare for me. Hope that helps! Happy to help if you need more info.💜
