Yep, it was Karlyn Holman with the elegant writers. Always fun to watch her!! I was sad to find out not too long ago that she passed away last Nov. at the age of 78. At least her art will live on forever. Beautiful and loose feather painting, Lindsay! Love it ❤️
Thanks Lindsay. Woo-hoo! My daughter got me a set of 6 pens at 5 Below for 3 bucks and they are water soluble. I did this along with you on a scrap and darn it it came out well! Im going to repeat this on wc cards. I'm so excited, it was so fast and awesome! I've been in a slump, thank you so much!😃😃😃👍💜
That's so fabulous! ❤️ I'm wishing I could do something like this. My head is so square, I always have to use the 'right' colours... This will make me practise! I will have to be able to do something like this, even if my head will explode! Thank you for the push, and inspiration 😘😘😘
So fun to watch you create. Happy Belated Birthday! All the best to you and your family. Thank you for always sending happiness, instruction, knowledge - so much appreciate it and you. Stay well and safe.
I loved the feather...so bright..always love when you choose to do really colorful images...reminds me of the rainbow giraffe you painted...it was definitely a favorite. As for the palette, I wonder if you put a small rubber mat under it...it looked like it slides around a lot..just a thought....Sandy
I like knowing about new art supplies. I'll be interested in are you demonstrate how you use the small palette. I think they are cute but not to practical. There is not any mixing areas. Can you tell more about sketching in your kayak. I kayak and would kinda see how you balance doing it.
Happy birthday! I used to adore little tiny palettes like that, until I realized they don't suit me at all. XD I only paint at home and I need a lot of mixing space. (And big cups of rinse water.) Still looking forward to your review of it though.
Thanks for another great demo Lindsay. That looks like a fun one to try. I’m curious to hear how you like your micro portable palette once you get to use for awhile. I also ordered and had it get hung up with COVID-19 issues with China in production and shipping. Just got it last week, but haven’t gotten to use it. Trying to decide if I am going with full or half pan configuration. Probably all half pans so I can have more colors.
You mentioned discarding cad colors properly... I bought the Windsor and Newman sketchers set to take when we go camping backcountry. Should I not bring certain colors along?
Looove this! Enjoyed it very much! I had a question about that scraping you did, how do you do that and with what? Doesn't it tear trough the paper? It looked so cool!
Im very knew to watercolours so i really enjoyed your tutorial so much. Thank you. Can i ask why the salt? I look forward to seeing more of your tutorials.
WoW, happy solar trip my fellow Cancerian!! Loved this loose feather painting as I need to use up my paints. I know you said they won’t go bad, but I really need to get back into watercolors. TFS and ‘Happy Birthday!’ 🎂🎈🎊💫✨👍🏾🎈 I do not like the single water source...
How do you know if a pen is waterproof or not? I was looking through all of the art pens at Hobby lobby but I didn't see anything that specified it was waterproof.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thank you for the quick reply! One other quick question: what do you mean "a proper place to dispose of it" when referring to the cadmium yellow? I'm sorry...newbie here. I've never heard anything about proper disposal of paints.

This is a nice colorful picture. And whimsical may I add. I like the fusion of the feather and the spatter.

Fantastic, Lindsay! That would look great on a shirt or canvas bag. I love the real feather, too :) it's adorable.
I love how loose and sketchy the feather looks. Also I love how free your strokes are
I think I’ll be trying a feather in watercolor today. Thank you! 💖
Fun and easy! Perfect for those days when you want to do something quick. Wouldn’t that make a lovely card?
I just picked up a blue jay feather yesterday when I mowed. Now I have something to use it for! Thanks!!

Gorgeous 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
So pretty, my fellow Moonmaiden! An Elegant Writer Pen would produce some nice colors too.
How gorgeous!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love it! TFS
Happy Birthday
Ooh, lovely!
Very fun!
Beautiful
You mentioned the color dulling once dried and I would like to hear a little more about that. Brand new to water color!
The water intensifies the color but when it dries and the gloss frommwayer goes away it appears lighter.
Happy Birthday!! 🎂 Thanks for another great video love the loose and free style. I hope to have time to have a go at this at some point. 😀
Beautiful!
I would love to try this. It looks so relaxing
Thanks for interesting video!!!
So fun, thanks for sharing!
Love feathers and this is gorgeous Lindsay. Big Hugz 👍🏾💯❤️👍🏾💯❤️
Wow, so cool. Awesome 💜

I love this!!!! It's beautiful:) Happy Birthday to you Lindsay from me across the border in New Brunswick!

How do you discard of your cadmium waste? I think the feather looked great. Liked the loose application technique.
That feather is absolutely gorgeous Lindsey. And happy happy birthday to you. My birthday is next Monday. 🎂🍦
Happy birthday to you too!
Happy Birthday Mary!!
Beautiful!

Ig it is the cotman set they are not real cadmium so no worries
Looove this! Enjoyed it very much! I had a question about that scraping you did, how do you do that and with what? Doesn't it tear trough the paper? It looked so cool!
It just scrapes the surface and makes a dent or scratch.
Im very knew to watercolours so i really enjoyed your tutorial so much. Thank you. Can i ask why the salt? I look forward to seeing more of your tutorials.
Salt bring out a granulated texture in watercolor
What colour was used for the initial colour that you put on the feather

I do not like the single water source...
I took this palette hiking with a waterbrush and I liked that method better. Best of all it fit in my Jean's pocket!
Pretty!!! What colors did you choose for your new micro palette?
I used ultramarine, cobalt turquoise, cadmium yellow, burnt sienna and rose red
Happy birthday Lindsay - where does the time go?
How do you know if a pen is waterproof or not? I was looking through all of the art pens at Hobby lobby but I didn't see anything that specified it was waterproof.
they should say, the Pitt artist pens and Microns are waterproof and most stores carry them.

Where did you find the paint pallet from?

Will definitely try this! Sadly, Karlyn Holman passed away several months ago. She had a lot of success with the Elegant Writer.
I didnt know that:(
