Oh yes, the wonderful Navy traditions. Civilians just don't understand them. They mean the world to the military.
Beautiful chaple! Beautiful horses. My dad was a police officer. Thanks for showing the memorial.
I really enjoyed this one. Beautiful chapel and the horses. God Bless our police.
Thanks so much P6. You managed to cover a lot of ground in 1 video. Naval Academy 👍 finally we see lots of horses 👍beautiful. The Police Memorial and the cars 👍
Appreciate all you do. See you tomorrow. Take care.
Congratulations ❤ 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Great pictures Penguin6 📸
The brick building behind the police honor guards houses the National Building Museum, a private, non-profit museum. The building was originally a government building which disbursed military pensions, primarily pensions for Civil War veterans.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is located at street level, on the roof of the Metro subway Red Line's Judiciary Square subway station. You can take the Red Line subway over approximately one stop from Union Station, which is near the U.S. Capitol. Since the last time that I visited Washington, D.C., a law enforcement museum has been built near the memorial.
Judiciary Square has several types of courthouses located near the memorial. The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police headquarters is also nearby.
The National Law Enforcement Memorial is somewhat similar to the original Vietnam War Memorial. The law enforcement memorial lists the name of every law enforcement officer in the United States who died in the line of duty, since the country was founded in the late 1700s. Sometimes another name is discovered from the old days, and has to be added to the memorial. The memorial commemorates both local law enforcement officers, and federal agents. or federal officers. The memorial does not contain the names of active duty military members who died while performing law enforcement duties, such as a military police officer. The memorial has some statutes of lions protecting their cubs. The statutes are supposed to resemble law enforcement officers protecting the rest of us.
A large scale incident where many law enforcement officers died was the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. All of those officers' names are on the memorial. Those deceased officers include approximately 40 New York city police officers, approximately 40 Port Authority of New York [state] and New Jersey police officers, an F.G.I. agent, a uniformed Secret Service officer, and some New York state court officers. A few firefighters who had promoted to become arson investigators are also listed on the memorial--the arson investigators either died while they were trying to evacuate building occupants, or they died while service as aides to high ranking fire chiefs. An off duty federal wildlife warden may have participated in the passenger revolt against the hijackers on Flight 91, and his name is on the memorial. Finally, some police officers who were at the World Trade Center on September 11th eventually died of cancer, because they had breathed toxic air at the World Trade Center fire.
Awesome and ❤traditional when they are doing this❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations to the plebes! Awesome tradition. Wonderful to see the recognition and honor's for the fallen officers. They all deserve so much more. Wonderful video. Thank you Andrew for all your efforts getting these amazing moments and sharing them with us.
P6... The USN thing was awesome!! What a great tradition... what a load of fun! As a lifelong Policeman, 38 years and counting, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to share with your followers the National Peace Officer Memorial. If you'll permit me, I'd like to share a few facts... May 15th is designated by law as Peace Officer Memorial Day and is one of only two days authorized by law for the Nation's flags to be flown at half staff. The other is Memorial Day. Since the first recorded death of a police officer in the late 1700's there have been 26,617 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The memorials wall that you showed have the names of the fallen inscribed and unlike all of the other memorials honoring our country's military veterans, the police officer's memorial walls will never be completed; on average, 150 police officers a year die while serving their communities.
Thank you!
Did enjoy watching the Plebes climbing Herndon. What a mess, what a challenge. All the goings on with the law enforcement events was fascinating. The memorial, the horses, the honor guards, even the car doors fascinating. Thank you for sharing all with us.
Loved the journey today, Andrew! As always, thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us! 😃
Beautiful photos of the lard covered boys. Tears came to my eyes when we entered the chapel. It was stunning. We are so fortunate to have you educate us THANKS so much ❤❤ 29:43 29:43
Another appreciation. The Police memorial. Officer Jake Wallin killed in the line of duty, Fargo, ND . His name was engraved this week. So thank you for this video.
That was amazing Andrew..I loved it! 😃👍
Thank you so much . The navel academy and its tradition was amazing ! Loved seeing
little glimpses of Annapolis . My mother was a descendant of the Carroll family one of their homes is on the water by the bridge .
Thank you for this wonderful trip around the Naval Academy and for the other gatherings today. You bring the best to us!
Our last visit to DC was during Police Week and they had a group of officer's that were able to lay a wreath at The Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington. With all of the crazy things that go on in DC, you can still see some very good and touching events.
Thanks for the trip to the naval academy. I have watched on TV the climbing. They just needed a little more team work and been a little better. The church is breathtaking. Thanks for showing the law enforcement grounds. I think tomorrow the V.P. might be coming to Wisconsin again. Hoping for a helicopter photos. No big deal if not.
Thanks Andrew. What a fun video and tradition. Wonder how long it takes to wash the lard off their bodies? And who is responsible for putting the lard on the monument?
We held a family reunion at a historic naval base, Fort Wordan, located in the tip of Washington near Port Angelos, on the straights.
What a wonderful video today. Those young men working together to climb a greased pole gave me hope for America. What a fine group. The Chapel was beautiful and I did not know John Paul Jones was buried below. Very cool. Thanks P6
Seeing this video reminds me of scenes from Valley Forge Military Academy back in the 1980s. I had a sibling who finished out his high school years at Valley Forge Military Academy back in the late 1980s and seeing this video VERY MUCH reminds me of the scenes I saw at Valley Forge Military Academy whenever we went there to check up on our brother with our family traveling from NW PA all the way to Bucks county to stay with our grandparents on our Mom's side when visiting our sibling at nearby Valley Forge Military Academy.
Thank you so much for covering this Andrew! I've never seen this Naval Academy ritual before. So tense and emotional just watching !
So occult.
@@memyselfandi8544huh?
Thank you! It was fun watching the plebes attempt to scale Herndon and succeed. I had never been the Naval Academy Chapel Crypt and seeing John Paul Jones' crypt. The Police Memorial was sobering, but the Police Horses were fun to watch. Thanks again!
My nephew graduated from the Naval Academy, I was very proud of him. He served on a nuclear submarine and I could never figure out why because he is 6’1”! lol
Thanks for sharing!
Loved this. Thank you! ❤
Wonderful and enjoyable video today.
Great coverage...thank you so much!

Oh my goodness! This was so good! I loved all of it. I have to say that I was out of breath and wiggling all over our couch watching the plebe go up that monument! And I loved the rest of the video. You do such a good job and thank you again!
❤ wow that was So awesome.... thank you so much Andrew... never knew about that... know they are so stoked... ❤
That is a beautiful chapel...❤
I learn so much from you and your videos...
Thank you so much
Thank you ❤
Thank you P6!
Such a great video! Those young men are tender babies to someone my age. Loved the law enforcement content with horses and the monument with all of the photos of heroes who passed in the line of duty, including the canines. Thank you, as always.
Another amazing video, had never seen the Naval Academy ritual, really interesting. Reminded me of seeing fraturnity rituals at college when a member "pinned" his girl. Thanks so much for doing this one.
I’m sure all colleges have rituals such as this and for the exact same reason.

Seemed fun at the time!

Another awesome video! God bless you, love from Colorado
What a great podcast. Thank you
Thanks Andrew ,you had a busy day.
GO NAVY!
Thank you P6.
Thank you.
Great video. Thank you
That was a nice video!
Who knew Led Zeppelin’s bass player was buried at the USNA.
Better be sober when you are coming home late at night in this beautiful neighborhood..
Appreciate the video. I’ve never seen this before. Very pretty landscaping. Ok enough of giving praise to the Navy. Go Army Beat Navy. 😎
A good lesson in problem solving and working together.
Yeah, especially in the warm showers in the middle of the night out on those ships at sea🤣🤣🤣
You missed the candlelight memorial in Dc
Thank you for covering the Law Enforcement Memorial.
Watching them slipping and sliding reminded me of Joey trying to get up after his flop at the Air Force Academy graduation 😂 Whoa, that's a lot of horses, pity the crew that's on cleanup duty. 👃 Thank you for covering the aw enforcement activities and the memorial. It was a great video today, thank you P6. Hope to see you tomorrow 🍻
Getting dirty was the entire point.
Did I say otherwise ?
Definitely Joe Biden Syndrome. All the signs are there! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
