- Just your average weekend in Washington where I bike around looking at prom queens while trying to find my kid, a shootout on Capitol Hill, and Marine One and Two landing at the White House. Pretty ordinary.

My prom was at the Watergate Hotel circa 1982. We had dinner at an Indian restaurant in Georgetown (I think) - my first time with that cuisine. It didn't occur to us to have our pictures taken at one of the monuments back then.

Many years ago,I worked in merchandise at Walt Disney World. We sold plush toys including one of Marine One. Guest came in and bought one. He shared that he was a pilot who flew that helicopter. Neat story. 🚁

... and when you walk through the Palm Room to the landing area, there is a tactical "group", usually can see three. Are they there to monitor the press or do they have another assignment? I notice they are not there when you walk back through.
They watch us but they are on standby to deploy to the lawn if there is an incident. They usually leave before we return but sometimes you'll see them leaving or walking out as we are led off the lawn.
Great cupcakes Lavender Moon in Alexandria. I wish they would ship. Last time I was in Washington, I had the driver to take me to Alexandria to pick up some. Gluten free chocolate is delicious.

If you look at Google satellite view you’ll see there is a big cement landing pad for the observatory along with a walkway for her.

They are. It's under a massive 2 year renovation right now. Will reopen July 4, 2026.

Billions of dollars wasted on Ukraine meanwhile we need to fund public security and invest in USA first manufacturing.

Almost all those billions you claim that are being wasted on Ukraine actually goes to manufacturing companies in the United States. The way it works is that the United States sends our old equipment and arms that are currently in storage to Ukraine, and that stuff is replaced by new stuff that is paid for by the bill that was just passed.
In the end what is clearly upsetting you is that this money is helping to destroy the Russian military while also simultaneously benefiting the American economy.
