- Locals share the shocking truth behind the Puerto Rico Energy Crisis. 💡⚡️
The persistent unreliability of Puerto Rico's electrical grid can be traced back to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. This catastrophic event inflicted substantial damage to the island's infrastructure, particularly targeting the external wiring integral to the distribution network. Despite subsequent rehabilitation efforts, the compromised state of the grid's wiring remains a significant impediment to ensuring consistent power provision. Additionally, a critical factor exacerbating this issue is the inadequate investment allocated for the modernization of equipment and technology. The existing systems are ill-equipped to handle increased demand during peak periods, notably the sweltering summer months. The recurrent vulnerability to power outages, influenced by both meteorological uncertainties and suboptimal decision-making at administrative levels, underscores the urgent necessity for comprehensive infrastructural reforms. - Розваги
👍
Good report. But southeast in PR the average outage was 9 months, with some towns 12 months
Thank you, Miguel! How long did your power go out for?
1:19 I'm sorry bro but 9 months to build a gaming PC is absolutely diabolical
😄 the rig must have been legendary
The reason whay that happens is because Puerto Rico doesn't have a contract with Con Edison of N.Y. If Puerto Rico do contract with Con Edison, the entire Island can be illuminated in less than 5 years with cables underground.
Thanks for sharing. Why do you think Con Edison of NY can do the job?
I think Con Edison is the company for Puerto Rico, because the Con Edison is the company that keeps N.Y. with the lights on all the time, and have all the experience that a company needs on for the ground and underground jobs. The Con Edison has a good reputation, and they are good.@@dougkalagian
I will look them up! I’m guessing you are from NY?
N.Y. is my second home. Yes.@@dougkalagian
Luma will never help us. I've been offgrid for years, never had issues. Muchacho at 3:44 knows whats up. Only happy one jaja
Have the panels ever been at risk during a hurricane?
The people of the state of Puerto Rico have to change that company LUMA for the Con Edison of N.Y. Con Edison of N.Y. is the best for Puerto Rico. Try it you may like it . LMAO
@@dougkalagian depends on installation but using ground mount is very secure. The panels are also able to be disconnected and brought inside if we expect a bad hurricane. Maybe 1-2 hrs notice.
@Alejandro_san wow that’s great, seems like the way to go
