Thanks for the vid! Looks straightforward, one thing though, on the placement of the zip tie for the bltouch cable, I've only had the printer for a week and I've already had to unscrew that little piece and slide it up 4 times to unclog the filament curling in there, I would suggest routing it with the rest of the wires inside the little cage and behind the hot end
I can confirm this method works (for BlTouch, but not for CR-Touch), but it's very important to use a small micro SD (2gb or 4gb is ideal) card for the screen, which needs to be formated with 2048 or 4096 bytes of Allocated Unit Size. It took me a few hours trying different versions of the firmware, until I realised it was the MicroSD card's fault. Good Luck!
Apparently CR-Touch works too if connected directly to mainboard, not through the breakout board. Haven't tried it yet.
Hi mate, I saw your comment a few weeks back and used a 4gb sd card which solved a 2 week headache trying to update my screen (i was using a 16gb). Just wanted to say thanks. Also, can confirm cr touch only works through mainboard and bltouch only through breakout. Tested both.
@@raym1763 Nice. Thanks for further detailed info.
thank you!!! please make a review please after using few weeks. i installed few days ago . had many software issues...
Hi, thank you for the video!
I am looking to order a BLTouch for my Sermoon D1. One question: after installing the BL touch and flashing the new firmware on the printer, is there anything else I need to do, like for example setting the distance between the nozzle and the BL touch? Or is it ready to go after following all the steps you explained in the video?
Thank you
Everybody with a Sermoon D1 this product is not yet available for our printers. I spoke with technology Outlet and they assure me it's coming soon but not yet available the one he is using now is a pre-launch todays date is 2/22/2022...also awesome video i cant wait to get one!!! Will following you!
Hi, yes sorry in all the excitement of getting this video done I forgot to mention it was pre launch, very sorry for the confusion
@@BeaniesHobbies no need to be sorry! Im just excited it may be soon! My bed is warped and had to use tape to bring up center haha did they happen to say how long till launch?
@@Cody_Spaghetti personally I think the hold up is creality as the firmware they have released is slightly buggy as it won't save the z offset so once creality fix it then I would think technology Outlet will release the kits
@@BeaniesHobbies cant wait will make it so much better would you recommend just buying silicone mounts to replace springs since they wont be necessary once the touch is available?
@@Cody_Spaghetti hi, no stick with the springs as it's still handy to be able to adjust the bed manually slightly then the bltouch won't have to compensate to much if the bed is miles out if that makes sense
I installed a bltouch in my Sermoon d1 I had loosened the Z screw couplings and moved the build plate down to the center. Now it thinks "0" is in the middle of Z travel. The probe extension and retraction are not consistent.
I unpgrad the FW. Went just fine. But my bed is not zero’d correctly now. Any idea how to get it to the top and set to zero? It won’t go past about 3” from the floor?
Do you need to perform calibration before every printing start? Or is there a way to save settings for future use?
I replaced the BL with a CR touch. It still will not bring the z up if it is about 200mm down. It acts the same way it did for you on your first try. Z limit is removed. It now acts like the z drive is over current. It will go down wait a while than after a while moves up. It seems worse if the bed heat is on. I will need to check power supply output. It has only once did the entire measure without getting error 203
Hi do you mind sharing your stl for the BL touch mount? As the online mounts keep breaking as they’re quite fragile
Pls I need help with my D1, When I adjust the bed on the corners, the center of the bed still high, what can I do?
Does the Bl touch install on to the sermoon V1
The breakout board only supplies 3v3, not the 5v as required by the BL and CR Touch. My BL Touch worked but inconsistently while the CR touch wouldn't work at all. The solution was to run the cable all the way to the BL Touch connector on the mainboard to supply 5v to the unit.
Where did you find such a long cable to place to the motherboard?
@@AnthriXable I think it comes with one that is long enough or at least my kit did
Any advice for a mount to print or how to align the bltouch with the nozzle?
Thanks for the video!
Have a look on thingiverse there is a mount you can print on there
I reached out to creality and they sent me the firmware is this the bugged one you think? Or have you heard if its bin resolved?
Hello, if I will use the 4,8,16,32 Gb card, it shows that it is updating, but I do not have the menu
Hi, what version of the kit should I use? The ender 6 one?
Hi, yes the kit from the ender 6 is the one you want, the firmware can be a little buggy at times though, ive noticed it won't save the z offset, I'm hoping creality will release an update to fix it
@@BeaniesHobbies Cool, thanks, will try it out!
can you send the store link of the BLtouch kit that you bought?
I bought the ender 6 kit and installed on my Sermoon D1
hello ! the file is not available in the creality web site have someone an other link to download it ?
Hi, it is there just creality have re done their website and made it tricky to find
www.creality.com/pages/download?spm=..index.text_icon_hover_2.1
Do these instructions work also for Creality Touch too?
Hi, no this is for the bltouch only I'm afraid
@@BeaniesHobbies I see. Thanks.
@@eraldylli i’m running a crtouch on my Sermoon. You have to print a cr touch bracket. Some people get it to work with the ender6 cable on the breakout board but many of us had to run the standard bltouch cable directly to the mainboard. Otherwise it’s a similar process
@@thebaltes Oh, so if I connect directly to motherboard it should work? Interesting. I noticed on the board, in the BLTouch port there were only two wires attached, for signal input and output. I'm guessing the grounding and voltage signals are taken from elsewhere is the breakout box, and that's why probably the reason the CR-Touch didn't work right away for me. Luckily I had both BlTouch and CR-Touch lying around my work space.
@@thebaltes What firmware did you use?
I did as shown in the video, only thing is when I turn it back on I get the keypad same as after motherboard firmware...? what did I wrong?
Hi, did you flash the screen with the new firmware as well? I would suggest doing the screen again
@@BeaniesHobbies and should it be necessary to give the firmware an additional number? thanks for replying
@@martijnbijkerk1356 I've never had to do that, I just updated as normal, just make sure you have extracted the firmware correctly after you have downloaded it
@@BeaniesHobbies Still doesn't work, It keeps saying in the bleu screen no files done, and when I check the folder there are 3 files (binary) that they can't be unarchived. (13, 14, 22) perhaps it is necessary to say I have an iMac?
@@martijnbijkerk1356 see if you can download 7zip I'm not sure if it's available for mac but that should then extract all the files correctly
Its a bit ODD that he saids it WORKS, but there is NO Newer FW List on Creality site for the link he listed. Also id be nice to actually see on the sdisplay what we should be seeing? PLEAE UPDATE EVERYONE ON THIS
If you search it there is a release on 20Jan on Creality site. I haven’t try the firmware from Creality since I had a fail BLTouch unit when I try. Later I have got a new BLTouch and working fine with Klipper firmware
@@fung612 The latest update on creality site is 31 Dec 2021 and the hyperlink has been removed from the download link. No trace of this firmware anywhere.
@@drubhoy84 oh….. then you need to wait or you can send a email to Creality CS. I think they removed it because of the bugs.
@@fung612 OK so thank you
