Manaus to Juma Lake 1:13
From the capital of the Amazonas state Manaus, we take a long journey by boat and car. We arrive at the beautiful Pousada Juma Lake and settle in before our tour of the lake.
Piranha fishing and sunset swimming with river dolphins 5:25
We explore Juma Lake by boat, spotting wildlife along the way such as River Dolphins, Squirrel Monkeys, Brown Faced Capuchin Monkeys and loads of birdlife. We undertake Piranha fishing and swim with river dolphins under a spectacular Amazonian sunset.
Juma Lake at night 12:45
We head out onto the lake at night and spot Caimen. Our guide temporarily captures a juvenile to talk a bit about their biology and behaviour. We return to the lodge to see a colony of bats attracted by the artificial lights.
Amazon Sunrise 15:45
We return to the lake at the most peaceful time of day, witnessing a magnificent sunrise with large flocks of wetland birds on the delta, also spotting more river dolphins.
Amazon Jungle walk 20:00
We take a boat ride to a section of the forest where we explore by foot, learning the secrets of the cultural and medicinal uses for trees found within the rainforest.
