    Love this. I have a question. Could you make a clear coat, once its dry you put the name on (in mirror) then cover second coat with the glitter coat, wait for it to dry then put the other clear coat so all the edges even the ones on the top will be shiny? Would this work?

      Thank you so much!! I've tried several different brands on Amazon, didn't find one I loved that was worth the price. I started using EnviroTex Lite and love it. I get it at Michael's. It's $100 but I wait for the 40 or 50% off coupon to purchase. Counter Culture DIY is the best resin I've ever used but it's $120+
      Hope this helps!

    Hello! I love this! I do have a question. I’ve made a few of these but for the car. They have a bit of a bend? Is that normal? Thank you!

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  3 роки тому

      Great question! Resin is not supposed to bend when fully cured. It's should be as hard as plastic/acrylic. So either your pieces are not fully cured or your measurements were off if you were using a 2-part resin. Also depends on the type of resin you're using (ex- casting resin). Hope this helps!

    I love the glossy finish on the bottom part of the coasters!
    Isn't the top part kind of texture-y from the glitter? Since when you pour the resin mixture into the mold, glitter sinks to the bottom (which is the top part of the coaster), I read somewhere.

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  3 роки тому

      Yes the tops can have some texture depending on your glitter, you can kind of tell in my video where I put the vinyl on the top that it almost has a matte-like finish. I always put a thin coat on top as well whether I use vinyl or not so that both sides look super pretty and glossy.

      A blow torch also works. You can try a blow dryer also if it gets really hot. You could also put your resin in a cup then place the cup in a bowl of warm water for 10-15 minutes until all the bubbles rise and pop at the surface instead of using the heat gun.

    • @CreativelyErica

    • @CreativelyErica

      Thanks! I use EnviroTex Lite. I get it by the gallon at Michael's. It's $100 but I use the 50% off coupon they have sometimes. If you don't have a Michael's near you, you can use Counter Culture DIY epoxy and order it online, it runs $120 per gallon. Either of those work well 👍

      @@CreativelyErica thank you so much I have one more question I'm reluctant on putting too much glitter in my resin, if I put alot will it cure

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  4 роки тому

      @@iamelizainez Anytime girl! It should still cure. However, if there's a ton of glitter, it may become rough/bumpy and you may have to add another coat of epoxy to make it smooth and seal it all in.

    Hello, Thank you for the video I love the coasters. My granddaughter wants to make crafts to make a lil hustle. I bought a box of alumilite for her. It came with two bottles one is clear and the other is not as clear. We decide to test it so she made a bracelet a lil thicker than a 1/4 in. Once it dries should it be flexible? I am new to using epoxy, I have been watching videos as I would like to learn to make a tumbler. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks! That's great! No it should not be flexible. It probably hasn't finished curing. However, if the measurements were off (even slightly) it won't cure. I would just leave it alone for a few days and see if it cures completely. Sometimes when you're working with thick pieces it just needs more time. I love working with epoxy/resin it can just be finicky. Definitely go check out my woodgrain video before you start making tumblers for some more tips. I plan on making different types of tumbler videos in the future so stay tuned.

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  2 роки тому

      Like actual hands on work time, 30 minutes (only because of the vinyl). A coaster without vinyl might take 15 minutes. But it cures for 24 hrs then another 24hrs when I add another layer over vinyl.
