    I mix Epsom salt with clear epoxy and fine white/shimmery glitter, and place it in the middle, after I do the pouring, and they look 100% real.you can mix gold, silver or any glitter with it, but that's what I do. I can email you pics. But you should totally try it. It's AWESOME! ( I have only made 2 sets and am a beginner, yet it works beautifully for beginners as well!)

    I started out with that resin and I have to tell you ladies when you use a brand like Art Resin, KResin etc... with no voc's zero fumes and a working time of up to 1 hour you will never go back to the cheap stuff. The one and only time I bought Enviro Tech the resin got so hot in the cup I had to stop stirring. I mixed colors and within 20 minutes the resin started to seize up. I've been doing resin work now for over 3 years. Trust me when I tell you to invest in a really good resin. It's worth it when you consider the added benefits. The better resins have uv resistance and will not fade or turn yellow over time as will ET. Your lungs and eyes won't suffer with a better resin and your house won'tsmell like it'sbeen in a chemical war.. You will see and tell the difference the next time you pour resin into your agate molds. I promise! BTW KResin has a good price plus you can have your payments split up. Love the stuff. Your agates turned out beautifully!💙

      I've tried a bunch of different brands myself, my favorite thus far is Counter Culture DIY but it runs apx $120+. I haven't tried the KResin and while it's only slightly more expensive than the EnviroTexLite (with my 50%off coupon of course), I've read that the KResin dries to the touch in 12 hours and is fully cured in 3 days, which is longer than the ETL resin. I typically use a mask to protect my nose/eyes with any resin work but don't for the sake of talking during these tutorial videos. I haven't had any of my pieces turn yellow, when do you start to notice this, definitely don't want that happening to my customers' orders?? My mixing cups have gotten hot when working with it but that only happened once when I turning 20+ cups at once with the same batch of resin so it was in the cup for a long time before that point. I'll definitely have to do more research on this KResin, maybe purchase a small bottle to try out. Always up for trying new products for sure! Thanks!

      @@CreativelyErica the Kresin co. sends free shipping from Colo and I really like the product. You may get a 20% discount code where a gal mix is like 70.and that's not bad at all especially with free ship and the payment breakdown every two weeks. Yellowing has slways been a problem with resins but not those that I use. Light affects those resins and causes the yellowing. So if you're selling by all means use a worth while oroduct. A resin artist friend if mine, Monica Barnes Art, gas been using The Epoxy Resin Store and she likes that product a lot. Hobby Lobby sells the Art Resin brand and a 32 oz mix is 49. I like. Have fun!

    These are great! Thanks - trying some out this weekend. 2 questions: can you use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun? And do you have to wait a while for it to set before adding a final clear layer?

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  2 роки тому

      Thank you! You can use your hairdryer if it gets pretty hot. And yes you have to wait for each layer to cure before pouring more resin otherwise it won't ever fully cure all the way through.

    Can you tell how much resin you used for each color layer? I think those Dixie cups are 3 ounces and it looks like you filled them to about halfway to the top which would be about 15 ml, if I’m correct? TY in advance. Yours are one of the most realistic agate geode tutorials I’ve seen on UA-cam. 👍 TFS your beautiful artwork.

    Any advise? I made a set but all the colors muddle together. I need them to be distinct rings(at least semi distinct)

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  2 роки тому

      Try letting your resin set a couple minutes before pouring. Also try to pour the different colors with gaps in between, that might help them stay separate. They'll still slide together but might help with the mixing.
