Ooh Fiber Spider, Christmas 2019 I took a bad fall and hurt my right hand quite bad. Have had two surgeries and have not recovered all my fine motor skills.mi had tried and tried but crocheting did not seem to be in my wheelhouse. I was very distraught about this. But I got some very good news, I am to be a grandmother! Well there was no way that I was not crocheting for this little angel. I put this tutorial on half speed and I did it. Thank you so much for this tutorial, it has meant the world to me.
Love this yarn eating pattern. I promised myself I wouldn't buy yarn in 2024 until I used up my stash of acrylic. This pattern, 3 strands, and a 12mm hook took care of my excess nicely 😊
I just started this yesterday. Me and my husband are in love with it already. Using Red Heart "Fall" variegated yarn and it looks like an inviting pile of leaves
Thank you for this tutorial! I have tried it several times with other instructors. You are an excellent teacher. I love the way you show the close-ups of the stitch as you are, crocheting makes it very easy to follow. I am also going to be trying the rectangle.
I’ve used many if your pattern/tutorials throughout the years. Including this one. Just love your work, creativity and thoroughness. Thank you from the heart ❤️
You are a genius! And now I’m going to look for the waffle shawl! I really love all of your patterns that I’ve tried and this one is no exception!! Thank you for sharing your gift Best regards, Suzy
With this virus keeping everyone home, I've been crocheting ALOT. I bought a spool of the 100% cotton and decided everyone was getting trivets this year for Christmas. I do 10 rounds of this waffle stitch. Pots come right off the stove of out of the oven and on to the trivet. Thank you Fiber Spider I LOVE this pattern.
I really enjoyed seeing a non white or cream color of yarn being used. It is so easy to see what you're doing. Watching your videos have helped me gain confidence in my crocheting and bring myself out of a beginner stage. I've been crocheting for ten years self taught. Thank you very much 😊😊😊😊
I love this pattern I am making it for my grandson for Christmas, you are so good with going slow and talking in plain easy to understand instructions, thank you have a wonderful blessed day
I crocheted a waffle stitch hat last winter in an ombre...turned out beautiful! Just the right thickness. I was watching a post trying to explain how to do the square. Didn't make a lot of sense. Then I found you!! You explain everything so well.
WOW!!!! I love this pattern!!! I also really need to give a very strong Thumbs Up to Fiber spider. Your tutorials are fabulous! I love watching them and following along. I feel Your very calm and create a nice warm friendly feeling for your followers. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and your video tutorials for all us fiber art lovers.
So glad to have come across this while looking for waffle tutorials. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you for putting forth such excellent videos and teaching so well. Yes, repeating the rows is so helpful. I am so glad to have found your channel.
Love the waffle stitch. Thank you Fiber Spider. I’ve been looking for a thick stitch to make for an afghan for my brother that lives in Ohio. For 2 days I’ve been looking and sampling and here you come this morning!! Well I’ve started and I’m half way finished. 😊 Love your crochet tutorials always looking forward to them. Saving this video for future use. I have other afghans to do in future. Have a great weekend and keep hooking!
Your THE VERY BEST TEACHER!!!! I really thought this was going to be so difficult and was a bit intimidated by how complex this beautiful piece looked but you are absolutely amazing at guiding and teaching!! I can't give you enough praise!!! Mine looks exactly like yours and it was so easy to do thanks to your thorough steps. Thank you so much for teaching me these beautiful stitches!!! I'm a beginner but feel like a pro thanks to you!!! You have truly found your calling!! Please don't ever stop! And I absolutely love granny squares and am always looking for different variations of them...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
I am in LOVE with this pattern! I just started my second afghan. The first one was gifted to a friend. This next one is all for me! 😁 Thank you so very much for this one ❤❤❤
THANK-YOU FIBER SPIDER! This blanket is wonderful and squishy and squashy! I am making this for my 25 year old son, whom has moved back home during this hard time in this world to help me with my husband, his Dad, whom has had a few strokes, and is high risk. I am working at home for a Financial Institution, so it is the least I can do to make such a beautiful blanket for him for everything he does for our family. IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Fiber Spider for this tutorial. I have some cotton yarn with long color changes and wanted to make a baby blanket with this stitch. I tried several other videos and had a hard time following the instructions. But once again you explained each step in clear and concise examples. You are the Best! I appreciate all you do for us fellow Crocheters ❤️🧶🕷
I love your videos! I appreciate how you do just enough rounds so that we can really understand the repeats. I'm so excited to learn this. It is turning out awesome.
I had forgotten all about this video until a very nice fellow crocheter mentioned it when we started talking over the discount yarn bin at Michael's. I have some Bernat Velvet that is going to become some big throw pillow covers in this pattern. So far I love it. Thank you!
THANK YOU for this pattern and tutorial. I have been wanting to learn this stitch for a long time, but could never find a tutorial that gave the easy-to-follow instructions that you gave! I can finally make a nice throw with this pattern. You are an awesome teacher!!!! Thanks again!
So happy you are doing this one for us. I watched a few others and you by far explain it so much better. I have been missing you. Glenda Hunning (Meme)
Had to smile when I saw this. I am doing a square shawl in number 10 cotton thread, just like this with a single opening. Based on your shawl, of course. Thanks for the inspiration!
I've been back and forth about doing this for so very long. I load the video, watch it then decide against it because I know how much of a yarn eater the Waffle stitch is. This time, though. I have 10 skeins of 800m Aran (worsted) yarn that I want to use up but no pattern that will complement it... Then I remembered this one 😁👍 I'll definitely be able to relax and watch TV whilst doing this one. It doesn't seem to require as much attention as the side-to-side waffle. I too had back post stitches too lol
Thank you for such a beautiful tutorial. I know where I went wrong when I did it a while back but watching and writing down everything you say, I think I’ve got. Love your videos and Thankyou once again! (Jennifer).❤
Love it love it love it. I have a lot of projects on the go ( I always finish what I start) and some are very fiddlee so it is so nice to have a rhythmic project. Thank you for your generosity and sharing. May blessings rain down upon you Craig

This is an awesome pattern. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I have been crocheting since I was 12 years old (i'll be 60 this summer) I learn a lot from your tutorials. I am doing this one in a self striping yarn. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Thanks again.
Oh, it's 4/16/23 & I do hope u hv recovered from ur fall & ur hand has healed 100%. Begin taking Glucosamine Chondroitin (per ur Dr's approval, of course) & it may help keep the arthritis to a minimum as u age. I'm 71 & it's good for lubricating the joints as cartilage wears down. It won't be made this year but I'll start it this fall & finishfor next yr... it's TRULY GORGEOUS!!! ❤. Thank u so much for a GREAT video! I got a bit confused at first, but it's a sweet pattern & I'm enjoying it. Just started it in shades of grays (still uncertain how many rows I'll do b4 changing to the next shade & then will throw in 2 or 4 rows of black to pop it & separate the group of grays & then start over w/grays again till desired length. It's for a guy who delivers my bottled water. He bought a house & is single, so I thought he might enjoy an afghan. I asked him his fav colors & hope he'll like the design I chose... I do. I missed most of this darned video! Because! That '2 front post, and a regular ', actually lulled me into a light sleep! Such a beautiful piece and I couldn't stay awake for it!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I'm getting some coffee and trying again! I'm an insomniac,! You my friend, have done what my G. P. couldn't! 🤣🤣. I guess I know who to listen to about bedtime from now on.♥️👍🏾. Stella
I think this would be perfect for what I call a floor play blanket for when baby is very small. I loved playing with my babies …way back when … on the floor. They couldn’t fall anywhere if I needed to look away for a moment and no matter how much you pride yourself on the cleanliness of your home, the babe needs something between them and the floor.
My most sincere compliments for your ability in crocheting and explaining. I have already made a blanket and just started another one. This is my favourite pattern ever. Best regards from Italy.
What a beautiful blanket! love the colors. Thank you for this video. I put it into my "watch later" list so I have it for later. I know that I will be making more than one of this blanket!!
Love this pattern cannot wait to try it. So much different in the square. Once again thank you for being so thorough and making it easy to create beautiful blankets.
I like most of your patterns, I have tried the waffle stitch and love it, as a matter of fact it has become one of my favorite stitch, right now I am making my newest great grand daughter a blanket with the waffle stitch. Love how it is coming out.
I really enjoy your video tutorials. I’m not a fan of the Granny Square that you love, but I do love this design. I’m rather new to the crochet world and I’m giving this one a try. Love your attitude and instructions. Also love your choice of colors. Thank you.
Beautiful, I started this with an ice cream yarn, big scoop cookies and cream, its coming out so pretty, im so excited to see how this turns out, thanks for sharing 👍. You do such an amazing job of teaching! The color changes aren't too much which is making it all he more beautiful.
I just made a baby afghan using Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn in Parfait and it turned out beautifully, it's a variegated yarn with bright pastel shades & the pattern really pops. Love your well done videos! And I hate backposts, too! So thanks for doing great patterns without them.
Love the waffle stitch! I've used it with cotton yarn to make pot holders. It works great since the "waffles" fit so well into each other. You can easily double up two squares for a nice thick pot holder.
I just want to say I absolutely love your videos and channel! You are the most helpful and informative crochet instructor I have found. It’s also a bonus that you have a delightful personality and soothing to listen to and crochet with!! Keep on doing what you’re doing and sending love your way!
watching this again, need to use the tons of yar sitting around. You simply are the best tutor and I lovd the intros, those little hhhmms giggles and so many more of your quirks!. Not to forget the projects lol! I really wantvto make a nice cardigan, so tutorial please , Thank you xx
Dealing w a bit of cognative decline here and thought perhaps returning to some patterns I had once sort of learned would help. It has taken me quite a while however, thanks to your careful teaching I feel as if II am making progress. Thank you so much.
This Canadian gal loves your tutorials & I've made many of these waffle stitch blankets. I'm presently making one for a baby in a variegated which the colors transition slowly using Lions Brand Ice Cream Big Scoop in the colorway of black cherry & it's turning out amazing. I will be making a baby beanie using the waffle stitch in a dark lilac color as the colors in this blanket are white, light mauve, dark mauve & light pink. It's going to be absolutely gorgeous. Love all your tutorials & thank you so very much. You are an amazing teacher....................
I made waffle squares but because I used different yarns some were bigger than others and is still not finished I am trying to persuade my granddaughter to have this style as it would be easier than trying to fix the other one love watching your tutorials you make it seem so easy ❤❤
You have the most awesome personality for crochet tutorials. You are so fun to crochet with and even when I'm working on other projects, I watch your tutorials to keep me company just because of your personality. Keep going, love your stuff! Have learned so much from you. Thank you!
I already did complete several blankets with the waffle stitch. My next blanket will be the granny sqaure with the waffle stitch. Thank you for sharing your video with us. I am from Pretoria in South Africa.
This is a great tutorial! You are so thorough and you make it so easy! Im using lion brand ice cream in grape and i hope it turns out as beautiful as yours! 🥰
Hi my name is Elaine, I watch you a lot and appreciate your info and guidance along the way. I didn't know what to do with this wool I have, I crocheted a cacoon with the other ball and now when I saw this tutorial, all just fell into place, thanx a lot very much appreciated
I like this pattern and thank you for going through it as much as you have. I, unfortunately, have some problem understanding the change from front to back, and back to front, but at least with your tutorial I can just keep replaying. I will soon know your words by heart. Thank you.

I started this blanket today. Working with 4 colors for a baby blanket. Thank you so much for this great tutorial. You see it on UA-cam when I'm done.
I think this would be perfect for what I call a floor play blanket for when baby is very small. I loved playing with my babies …way back when … on the floor. Love the waffle stitch! I've used it with cotton yarn to make pot holders. It works great since the "waffles" fit so well into each other. You can easily double up two squares for a nice thick pot holder.

Dealing w a bit of cognative decline here and thought perhaps returning to some patterns I had once sort of learned would help. It has taken me quite a while however, thanks to your careful teaching I feel as if II am making progress. Thank you so much.
I've frogged some nice wool several times because the patterns didn't suit the blanket i wanted to make out of it, this one is perfect! thank you!
this is so much easier than the other square waffle video, and I'm thinking would make a fabulous trivet if done in a cotton.
Working on a blanket for my mother right now and loving it so much! Such a comfortable pattern! Great video, thank you so much!!

I made waffle squares but because I used different yarns some were bigger than others and is still not finished I am trying to persuade my granddaughter to have this style as it would be easier than trying to fix the other one love watching your tutorials you make it seem so easy ❤❤
