If your companions are far away, they will not automatically be pulled into combat and you can freely switch to them. They will only join the fight, if they are spotted, you walk past them, or they attack, so by toggling all your party members into hiding mode and funnelling them into combat one by one using (sneak) attacks, you can ideally pick off half of the enemy team, already, before they even get their first turn. Also, enemies' perception seems to be pretty bad, so if you keep your distance as a rogue, you can make almost every of your attacks a sneak attack for a lot of easy damage.
Thank you for this suggestion - BG3 is my first real foray into D&D - I am loving the complex strategies that can be set up, and I hadnt yet tried this one. BG3 is perhaps one of the best games i have played in my very long gaming life.
Great tips however ability scores aren't tied to race anymore so racial features are the only reason to pick one race over another. Another handy tip, always keep in mind what spells take concentration so you don't accidentally end your spell effects early
Definitely got the karmic dice backwards. If you disable it, it removes the failure protection. Enabling it prevents failure streaks. The game outright says how it works.
And customize your hotbars! Those little plus and minus icons in the bottom right allow you to add more rows to your main hotbars section, which in turn lets you have more abilities to look at without having to click the various subcategory buttons. Honestly the freedom of customization on the hotbars in this game is some of the best I've seen! The radial customization is pretty great for controller users too! Though I think some quality of life options like being able to swap the order of your radial menus and pick which one it defaults to when you bring them up would be nice.
I'm sure plently of people have mentioned it somewhat already but Karmic Dice does not make the game harder for you as you said, it simply makes the dice rolls more average to prevent long streaks of good or bad rolls so if you've gotten 3 bad rolls karmic dice will prevent that for going on too long.
Preventing good streaks means it should be disabled immediately. Throughout the game, you're obviously going to have more good rolls than bad, for the simple fact that if the majority of your rolls were bad, you wouldn't be able to complete the game; you'd be dying constantly. So since most rolls are good, preventing good streaks will end up harming you more than preventing bad streaks will help you.
@@meunomenaoethiago284in a real dnd game the dm gets to interpret those bad rolls through the narrative. The computer is not as creative and not as inclined to deliver a strong narrative. Thanks for the tips! My tip is that when you reach level 4 you are given an option to choose ability score increase or a feat. The ability score option is at the top of the list! This might be easy to miss since you're given a long list of feats and it can be overwhelming 😅 Also note the weapon and armor profeciencies of each character. If your rogue wears armor they're not proficient in, they may not be able to sneak. Also if they're proficient, they can use a weapon's special moves.

I don't want the best start. I want to fight without walking away and needing to rest and resurrect my party.
This game was intentionally delayed on PS5 to come out the same day as Starfield.
Where are your multiclass guides are they still to be released? Rouge ranger fighter with sharpshhoter very good 😊 with 4 bonus actons thats up to 9 shots in a round
Which class is best for someone who's never played a D and D game?
“Karmic” dice sound like something that might help me if I’ve been good. Is that true?
Most important, dress all your characters in their underwear
Zoey 4 President 🫡
Is karmic dice just Div2:OS combat?
Ive noticed i miss a lot more than i would in divinity
I found the camping mechanic non intuitive. I was exploring hoping to find the bloody campsite, but it is a teleport thingy. Not a big fan of that actually.
Well i completed act 1 with karmic dice on
Why do you say you should focus fire enemies who's turn has already passed? For me, it makes sense the other way around.
Hmmm I think my companion has those gloves on… and I have their spiky orb
I wonder why they have a dice in the game, seems like most people savescum anyway... Oh no, its a 10 % chance on this throw, 15 min of re-loading save, check.
Whoever narrated this video should be doing voiceover work professionally.
Thanks for the karmic dice tip. The game was kicking my paladin's as and I was getting frustrated 😅
This is completely wrong. Karmic dice make the game easier, not harder. Read the info, it's straightforward.
@@astronomyphilly dude you okay? You read my comment carefully...
@@ethanwintersseveredhand I wasn't digging at you, I meant the info in the vid. I'm convinced it's wrong, Karmic dice make the game easier?
Correct me if I'm wrong mate.
@@astronomyphilly yeah, I tested it it doesn't work as soon as you activate it but once you restart game it does.
First tip is just wrong. Karmic dice smooths out critical hits and misses.
If you roll a one, you are less likely to roll it again.
I die on explorer lol 🤣🤣
